The Weyland-Yutani logo is a "W" laid over a "Y." BUT! The reason the company is called Weyland-Yutani is there was a merger/acquisition in which Weyland won the David AI patent lawsuit from Yutani, and one company bought out the other, thus why the W is ON TOP OF the Y. Also, in the 1979 film, it was called "Weylan," but only in visible text on screens and supplies, never spoken. James Cameron codified it as Weyland-Yutani in the 1986 film.
Also, silly of me, the Nostromo refinery platform was not an "oil" refinery platform, but rather, a refinery of other non-Earth deep-space minerals.

X rated ? How do people not know the rating system. Genitalia is classified under 15 or R rated in the US. Full frontal shot as long as it's not sexual interaction , all penis must be flaccid. Rating system has become alot less restricted. If Alien was released today its rated would be dropped from an 18 to 12 here in the uk. Which would be a pg13 I'm the uk
So yes, a chest buster becoming a groin buster is completely possible. Now if it made them turn away and Squirm . It has to be something that would make most reacted. Like when the penis is bit off in teeth Or the eye is ripped out in hostel. Internal organs just will not do it as we see that sort of thing weekly in Greys Anatomy . I don't think anus hugger would break it either as there are plenty of movies where people get impaled ass first or split head to taint.
How about the Purina Logo on the doors. They say the movie Outland was of the same universe there did seem like there were some similarities.

Some of the logos had triangles on them throughout the lore I believe
You said that the Weyland Yutani logo was a W with inserted triangles. However, I think it is a W with a Y behind it representing the initials of the company.
that is exactly what it is. the original company logo was some kind of Egyptian winged sun thing, they then changed it to the interlocked W and Y.
I plan on playing Alien: Isolation again before watching this opening weekend!

Please no, after Prometheus and Covenant I dont care for the engineers. It made zero difference to the prime lore movies.. It was a completely shoehorned plot that truly didn't need to be explained.

So happy to hear Jim Cameron got to see the film and enjoyed it. I'm trying my best to not get too excited Aliens is IMO the best sci-fi action horror film ever made and will likely never be toppled from its throne. Can't wait to see this at the cinema though.

I love the first two Alien franchise films as well and this trailer just totally brought back so many amazing memories and reinvigorated my love for those films.
I loved Prometheus and partly covenant. I think the lore and mystery still there makes the universe so intriguing

So my nephew has recently gotten into the Alien franchise, and we are watching all the movies and currently playing through Isolation together for the first time. I really hope there are references to the game in this movie.

I didn't even know this was happening until I saw the trailer. The Alien franchise has had the who's who of visionary legends in the director's chair. Alvarez stands right up there with Scott, Cameron, Fincher and Juenet. I am so glad this was going to be a Hulu release because that means the budget was seriously constrained which typically makes films like these much better. Cutting out expensive digital effects, embracing practical ways to do FX and get the best shots, and using younger and lesser know actors and actresses that are hungry to show what they can do and not just phone in a performance based on their name appeal.
I have very high hopes. So far this is 1 of 2 movies I will go to the theater for this year, with the other being Deadpool so far. I hope there are more compelling offerings that make me want to go to the theater again.
idk why your hopes are high you sounded like you knew what you were talking about for a second then the (cutting) to be leva that there is still something to be drained out of this frachise just shows how ok we are with non original ideas and lore that does nothing to grow literally the story. 'HULU release' is about streaming, this movie is stated to be a theatrical release and Disney owns the majority share of HULU.
You should check out "Late Night with the Devil" it was so good and definitely caught me by surprise.

yeah i love this prediction, esp since we see the face hugger attached, then it being withdrawn, and there must be something to that... though just the image of the tentacle sliding out outdoes the snake scene in prometheus

They should have given this movie a more appropriate name, Romulus really implies that it fits in with the engineer Era when it really will fit with the OG alien movies. Oh well.
personally i get tired of them having to do "alien: _____"... just give it its own name, we know its an alien movie, sequels dont mean it has to have the same name
I believe they named it that because it has ties to Prometheus and Covenant.
The fact that theres a character called "Andy" really sells the connection that the Alien world is tied into the Bladerunner world. In that world, the replicants are nicknamed Andy in the books. 😊

The one thing I'm worried about is the film being excessively cruel with little narrative payoff. I hope Fede Alvarez and the writers can come up with a satisfying 3rd act.

I'm wondered since this film is taking place during the 57 years between the events of Alien and Aliens, how would this film affect Alien Isolation which is also set between those two films since in Isolation don't we get to play as Ellen's daughter, so I'm wonder if this film takes place before or after the events of that game

Out Of all the different breakdown videos, this is the only video where they actually show that there are a few more people in the room when the android closes the door and the Wu gets face hugged, can see the main actress running to her aid immediately. i almost thought it was the android trapping her in another room and she would be alone to the face huggers. this is going to be a roller coaster ride of a film and cant wait for more sneak peaks 🤘🥳🤘
Alvarez did the Evil Dead 2013 film. I fully expect to see something horrific in this movie and I can’t wait!!
I think it’s someone who tries to get inside the tube to survive from a baby alien and it gets inside with it and kills/eats them.

No not disliked at all. Some people's tastes don't decide for all. In fact it was more appreciated that we got xeno related creatures other than the same old xenomorphs in this universe.
@@sourabhkarmakar8040 I guess it depends on who you ask, but it's fairly well established that Prometheus and Covenant aren't popular with fans of the Alien franchise, and a big part of that dislike is because they tried to give the Xenomorphs a backstory when they didn't need one. I've honestly never met an Alien franchise fan who likes Prometheus (Covenant gets a bit more love, but only because it actually features a proper Xenomorph, and the human characters are less stupid than the humans in Prometheus). If you do need a backstory for the Xenomorphs though, the Aliens comics from Dark Horse do a much better job of exploring the Engineers and the wider Alien Universe than anything Ridley Scott did in Prometheus and Covenant.
Prometheus wasn't understood by fans or those seeing an Alien film for the first time. I still struggle to understand the evolution of the xenomorph - and that squid at the end makes no sense to me at all. Fans felt cheated and so did i.
@@patrickmcnelis1472 The problem was the concept itself. The xenomorphs didn't need an origin or backstory, and trying to give them one just resulted in a convoluted mess that made them less scary.

I hope this is the story that explains what happened to those people in the beginning of Aliens that kicked off the festivities by the marines. That would be an interesting angle unexplored

I’m not sure if it’s canon but they for sure had a comic book crossover. And I would be so down for that as a movie. Like the terminators sent back in time to stop the aliens from tacking over earth….. and like the predator is there doing his hunting thing I guess lol idk he’s just there 🤷🏽♂️

Prey did a great job of pumping life back into the Predator franchise so I hope Romulus does the same for the Alien franchise. They both are such iconic IPs and deserve to be enjoyed by newer generations

So romulus is one side of the station and other is Remus! One is high tech and weapons, other is low grade like from convent. Aliens are on one side being studied, and other is the science side for the terraforming.
