On Antlion, if you're going to kite the attacks instead of just tanking, it'd be a good idea to bring some cobblestone. Antlion always spawns in the exact middle of an intersection between four turf tiles, and it always spawns in the same place in a world, so a little cobblestone around it will help and only needs to be done once in a world. I find a 4x4 square centered on Antlion to be sufficient to cover most of its fight space, and ever since cobblestone was made significantly easier to craft, 16 pieces is pretty cheap at only 12 rocks and 8 flint. It also has the benefit of easily marking where Antlion spawns if you're building in the oasis desert, and if you're oasis basing you can add a little more cobblestone and use the same arena for bosses like the shadow pieces, Eye of Terror, The Twins, etc.
If you want to survive summer not in style you can make it if you keep 100 wetness, probably only really an option for Wurt and Wormwood. I did it once as a challenge and it worked pretty well, just make a boat and do a really bad job at paddling, then slap on a pumpkin hat/ icecube hat. You can still overheat in the very middle because the temperature gets to 105, and 100 wetness only removes 30 degrees of heat. Also if you're willing to deal with an ugly patch of land you only have to dodge antlions anger once because sinkholes won't spawn inside other sinkholes, so if you stand in an already existing one you'll be safe.
Yesterday I was with my cousins for the first time doing the summer and we were burning hard so we decided to go for the caves but we lost our sanity and while roaming inside we lost track of time and when we finally came Outside we got roasted by heat again. what a cruel world…
Amazing video, you mentioned Otto von Chesterfield, Esquire. You made a mistake, Pearl does not need cactus flowers since the "A Little Beta" update. 4:47 is that bee smoldering?!
I ended up screwing up a flingo trick in my last world and ended up surviving the entire summer on the surface with no wildfire protection, and it actually worked out pretty well. Throughout the entire season I only had my base start to smolder two or three times and I just put it out by hand, and I was using a luxury fan for cooling so I could just have used that if things got out of hand, overall I actually felt pretty safe
I wonder if you can spend a relaxing summer in the middle of the waterlogged biome, no hound waves since you're on water, no ant lion, fridge and 2 thermal stones for cooling and either stock up on food or bring a few lureplants and a crockpot;
I think you forgot the chilled amulet. It's pretty good in combination with other summer gear like floral shirt and eyebrella. Use the amulet to cool down, then equip the shirt and continue your ways...
If you want another way to deal with wildfires you can carry around a watering can or the water can that you get from malbatross it has a lot more uses and it will extinguish fires and smoldering items in a small radius. You can also rehydrate plants such as the twigs and grass with the watering can.
Gosh damn I miss you. Lol been on the road cross Canada my home country ont to van Island and back and back again lol only get to watch when we stop for the night lol but u know me demon I watch u as much as I can. Ur amazing
Great video DemonRebuilt, I was hoping that you would include character specific traits to help fight summer heat such as wickerbottom books(pyroknetics, practical rain and tempering temperatures), wx-78 cooling upgrade and willow natural heat resistance. You made the video for all characters, and that is great, but when you mention a wurt method to specifically defeat Antlion that makes us question what other methods there are to each survivor. Thanks. PS: No mention of summer vest, ice cube hat or flower shirt?
@@DemonRebuilt Well I usually use one in the first summer. Second summer I'll have ice chester. I thought there was no summer clothing in dst because online it only said rotg and SW which confused me but I collected cactus flowers anyways and got the craft suggestion then, so that's nice. I'm spending the first summer trying to complete my map so I'm not really interested in making endo fire pits all the time, but maybe I should have given some of these recipes a try ;) that probably makes more sense (wigfrid though)
@@lotusfrucht111 Yeah endos can be a pain. Eventually I will get moon caller staffs and/or ice Chester but in the meantime, I'd still rather keep my backpack slot. There are other options like luxury fans with an eyebrella as well which I don't personally use but are effective.
Day 56 just enter summer couple days. I on my way get gear for snow ball thrower machine .... I tho... I tho I just need to worry .... The heat . ... Wtf is this... BRO I BARELY PREPARED!!!! HUH?? How long summer last????? Now Im scared to even continue to play right now... I always forget stuff as well... Antlion look like pain in the ass . I barely hold myself try fight my first time moosegoose ... Broo I'm so done
Honestly I turn off wildfires. Too much time spent just watching rng burn 10 hours of work. Edit: also reduce rain. It's just a miserable mechanic only cause there is No shelter. If it had anything buildable like a lean tube just for the base. Hate organizing items at night just for it to rain on me the whole time.
You can't imagine how much grief a single watering can has saved me during DST summers

Great tip! I'm totally gonna do this now. Hopefully I don't die to the heat first...
Nice 1 mate…”and it was all yellow” 😊

its not the only option if your never going to fight stuff
Wow! Don't starve in Mexico!

lol this video came out the day after me and bf got done barely surviving thru summer. great job as always tho it was really informative and concise!
4:46 You have to think how hot don't starve's summer is to HAVE A F*CKING BEE SMOLDERING.
Amazing video, you mentioned Otto von Chesterfield, Esquire.

4:47 is that bee smoldering?!
Yeah they did change the house recipe but you can still give her flower salad.
@@DemonRebuilt Ahh, I did not remember that, sorry.
Also, I just noticed I said "A Little Beta" instead of "A Little Drama.

Play as Webber and you even have some spiders to befriend.
"and the game turns more yellow than that Coldplay song" 😂 I love that song
4:36 uh... why did the plants all get picked when the flingo cooled them off?
Don't ask these kinds of questions.

I'm allergic to sacrificing my backpack slot
Antlion also takes eggs, so you can turn your excess monster meat into tribute as well

One thing i like to do in Summer is carring an Ice Staff: Easely put wild fires out at a distance, cheap recipe and only spend 1 sanity per use.

True, a bit of oversight on my part. Those clothes are not worth it though. Not sure if I've ever even made the flower shirt lol
@@DemonRebuilt flower shirt is goat though :(
I forgot that you could feed antlion, deep down this monster is just a bit hungry and need some rocky rock :(
If your wicker you can absolutely get rid of the problems of summer with just like 3 books but one of the is a general life problem called dark
I've mainly been playing don't starve (not together)... are there no floral shirts or similar summer clothing in dst?
I don't think I've ever worn a floral shirt lol. Absolutely not worth not being able to use your backpack

I think you should have mention Wickerbottom with her rain book
One question can my base in the over world catch fire while i am in the caves
Moslings trick is the best for summer, i think if done early prevents Antlion from spawning (constant rain trick)
Correct me if i am wrong.
whats the name mode, hot to show you what ingredients do you need to use?

It would be funny if you said "the game look more yellow than Mexico in an american movie"
How else would you know when they go to Mexico though?

Dude.. you're giving like high level options.. 7 blue gems!? just give us low level options
Then says 10 logs is expensive...
without wildfires summer is super ez overheating ezier than winter theres more ways to stay cool and cheap aswell like or than winter
