Thanks for the quick overview video.
For someone with a mechanical mind and experience installing doors it was a quick general overview video.
Yes I always turn the background music off when I’m watching these types of videos.

Great video! this clearly shows the steps needed so that I can spend less time reading and more time doing. I appreciate that you didn't make a one to two hour video for a "two hour install" project, because I don't want to spend four hours on a two hour install.

Thank you thank you very very much!!!! I have three doors to do at my house and I got the first one ready for tomorrow and I wanted to find a video to study and memorize beforehand…
I haven’t put in new screen doors in quite some time and this looked like it was a really really good product…
Have a great day my brother and thank you so much--I have watched your video three times and we are ready to rock ‘n’ roll for tomorrow!!!!
    SALUTE, SIR!!!!

I got one of these on sale, and after shopping around nothing even came close in value with glass and the triple track,. If this door wasn't on sale it still blew away the competition by at least 100 bucks. I had no clue about the easy-install, so when i started reading the instructions it scared the fuck out of me. It's not the traditional door install. Anyways thank god for this video, it gave me the quick overview (where the manufacture's site failed) to help the instructions makes sense Thank you sir.

+Clinton W No, thank you! That is exactly the reason I made this video. To give a quick overview so people know the steps they are going to take. I too love the screen door. Truly appreciate your comment. :D

Hello "people," as myoldreteacher said, "This is not an instructional video!" The are many point of the installation that are not pointed out, like the installation of the door sweep and drilling both sides of the door independently for the door handles, but the video shows how easily this type of door can be installed. However, be warned, the instruction come on three separate papers: an "Installation Kit Guide," an "Installation Guide" and a door-handle installation template. Nothing is ever as easy as they make it seem, no matter who the company is or how reputable they are. Trust me, that was not the first time he installed a door of this nature.

I agree! What's the point of the sound in the background? It would make more sense to explain it as it is being done.

Question for you. I have the same door and am wondering if I have an issue with my handle or if it's just the way they are...Does your outside handle automatically return to the middle when you open the door (feel spring loaded?) or do you have to turn it back for the door to latch again? Thanks.

This only works with a pre existing door frame. Otherwise. Your building one. Worst part your putting flashing over the wood. Depending on the getto factor of your house. This becomes really crap

Yes I can rewatch and slow down.
I installed a 200 series. It had all the spacers. My new 100 series 32" didn't have the spacers. That's how I ended up looking for help.
Also my opening is almost too big. I have to add another piece to the door jamb.

The latch striker and the deadbolt striker are no where long enough to the reach the latch or the deadbolt. Looks like you added a wood block to bring them out further. Seems like a design error to have to do that. Something that will be required on every installation. The spacers provided aren't enough to do the job and nowhere in the instructions does it mention that you will need a block. I'll have to add the block but it's ugly :o(

    • @myoldreteacher
      @myoldreteacher  8 лет назад

Yes, I added a block to the striker. On the whole not a difficult instal, but yes some creative approaches needed at times. Thanks for watching and the comment.

Lousy video if you are trying to learn how to install. Extra couple of minutes would have been very helpful. Basically, this video is saying look at the instructions and follow the instructions and yes, by the way this is how you use the screw driver and the drill.
