Why I STOPPED WEARING PANTS...to Mass, Confession, Adoration, etc

- This year, I've COMPLETELY changed how I dress at Mass and now ONLY wear dresses and skirts when I'm inside a Catholic Church, even if it's just for confession or Eucharistic adoration!

If we spend hours to look good for a night out or friends why not do the same for Jesus!
Amen!
@Freddy Fazbear Worship is not only in the mind, it is also with the body. So yes, Jesus cares.
@Freddy Fazbear You're right he already saved me.
And of course he doesn't love people more for the simple fact of being dressed better. But if you can dress better then it is a little but worthy act of love from your part to God.
EXACTLY Alejandra! 🙏 And presenting ourselves nicely is a mark of respect also. God bless.
Yes yes yes!
I never wear pants in church either. Skirts and dresses all the way!
Me too
me too..oh no wait.....
This has nothing to do with your comment, but I clicked on your channel and noticed your ASL video. I'm learning ASL too! Just thought it was cool
❤
Me too! I feel so uncomfortable to be in pants in Church
I recently went to thrift stores and bought nice long skirts to wear in church. Best decision I ever made ;-)
Yaayy!! Glad you have found joy in the same decision I've made!!!
❤
I can't find long skirts. They must be so hard to find that you had to go thrifting.
Hi Lizz congrats, I wish more women follow your example!👍🙏
Thrift stores the best sometimes to find what you need at no high cost.
So refreshing seeing a young woman talking about this subject! God Bless you 🙏🏼
Yup! I wear skirts and dresses and I also wear the Spanish mantilla (veil) to mass.
@Cuthbert de Jeanville if she enjoys wearing that then good for her! Have a good day Cuthbert.
Lol ok.
@Cuthbert de Jeanville why mock her? I also wear a mantilla and attend Latin mass you know the mass the church has had for almost 2000 years....
Mantillas are very nice, but don't you think they kind of contradict why Christian women originally wore head coverings in Church?
I tell my daughters that we are going to see The King and no one would wear jeans to see The King.
I'm not christian anymore but don't hey why do some churches /religious institutions or other congregation members shame women and people for wearing pants during services or visits to the church
channyrose LOVEEE this!!
@@millennial_fairy it's...a long story.
I'm Catholic still, I have worn jeans to mass on occasion. The long and short of it is that (when it comes to Catholics) not all of us enforce that. Specific more conservative sects or groups within the larger Church do, for reasons that are...varied.
We actually have canonized women saints who wore pants though; St. Gianna Molla is an example (Italian woman in the 1960s). There's photographic evidence and everything!
Best way to tell my daughters soon
💕 this. 🙏🙏🙏
I LOVE this! I've been convicted to embrace more femininity in the way I dress.
Femininity is so empowering ❤️
@@thehippiecatholic yes that is very true! A few months ago, when I decided to dress in skirts and dresses exclusively, I noticed that a lot of my “trendy” clothes (ripped jeans, baggy pants, cropped t-shirts) were neither flattering nor feminine. Since deciding to dress in a more feminine way, I’ve been able to embrace who I am more rather than just follow trends
God does love us just as we are, but should not stop us from giving Him our best.
I am always happy to hear you. I always wear the best clothes when I attend the Mass. You are going there to meet God and worship him. God bless you and love from the Philippines 🇵🇭
Let's also encourage the "men" to drop the jeans, tennis shoes, shorts, tank tops, tee shirts etc.
Sure thing! I will say that at my particular parish, nearly all of the men have at least a shirt with a collar, and a few wear sports coats. Jeans without holes in them are actually seen as slightly formal where I am (overseas military base), so you can find those intermixed with dress pants. We should absolutely encourage modesty in both men and women, especially at Mass.
Ministers need to dress with respectability
I am a guy, and I whole heatedly agree. And it's not like dress clothes are more expensive than regular clothing at places like Walmart, where most people shop.
If 1 person gets it ....that's enough for me to have hope
In my opinion tights under a skirt are a lot warmer than plain old jeans (especially if their fleece lined)
Totally agree!! And especially wearing sweat pants under a maxi skirt or maxi dress is WAY warmer!!
Tights and leggings are awesome under skirts, but layering skirts also increases the warmth and I think it feels marvelous.
I loved it! You made me tear up! Jesus deserves or very best!
Awesome Lizzie!! I learnt this when i was a JW... but now tht I'm back home to the Catholic Church, I've continued the same practice... I feel awkward if wear pants for mass.
Also dressing up for mass shows how important Jesus is...Jesus is truly present in the Eucharist rmrbr..😀
Wow.. I would love to know how you came to Catholicism from JW?
You are a good girl Lizzie with a humble spiritual heart that discerns who is obedient, who accepts and corrects where needed. Mama Mary luvs you so much for your humility!
Thanks for sharing your story..I loved your humility in the confrontation. A great example on how to love your neighbor. I started veiling and it has taken my spirituality to another level. Makes me feel more humble. I want to encourage you to pray to God if veiling is something you want to try. God Bless you, J
Skirts and dresses are so much more pretty and feminine.
So very true and I've been looking at getting more dressy clothes
Some of the biggest turning points in my faith have been after someone calls me out for something, don’t be afraid to righteously judge💛
AGREED. Calling people out in a gentle and loving way is SO powerful.
Thanks Lizzie, I’m definitely going to start wearing skirts and dresses to mass now. Thank you for another awesome video. Please do another video on more outfits for mass.
I can't wait for the fashion to change, so skirts and dresses are easy to acquire.
Same. And longer skirts and higher neck lines too
I get my maxi skirts from Amazon. I like ones with pockets. I wear leggings under them in cold weather. Wear my ankle boots most of the time. They’re my most comfortable shoe. Mother Mary always appears barefoot.
I’m curious as to how you’re not finding them? In the Uk and find a ton of midi skirts etc
Very proud of you Lizzie. As a man, I don’t dare walk into the Nave of the Church without pants and a collared shirt, at least. I just feel like I am being disrespectful to the Real Presence and the Altar otherwise.
I think this relates a lot about how we feel regarding our relationship with God. For example, in my case the fact that I can use these clothes which may not seem very respectful shows the fact that I can be myself with God; it relates about my authentic and honest relationship I have with Christ. But I also understand that others prefer to dress in a certain manner to show their respect to God. I guess my issue with getting dressed in a certain manner is with the fact that I was never good at acting very politely and felt that acting polite is somehow fake. So if I dress in a special manner I feel like I'm not 100% sincere in my relationship with Christ. But this is me and it probably relates to how I grew.
@@sfappetrupavelandrei I can see how some people feel that way, but in my own experience, dressing well becomes a constant reminder of the dignity of the Sacraments.
I'm the same way.
🙄
Congratulations, you've made a great decision. What you wear is a reflection of who you are. I stopped wearing pants many years ago, out of two convictions: 1. Daughters of God shouldn't look like daughters of this world. We are ambassadors representing our Lord and our faith all the time, and people are always watching us. The way an employee looks is seen as the image of his company, so dressing simply but elegant and dignified seems to me like a good idea.
And 2. God made me a woman and I agree with his plan for me. I researched into fashion history and found out about the reasons women started dressing like men, feminist and sexual revolutions and fashion as a way of protest. It'd be very long to explain, but I decided I wanted to tell the world silently, without a word, that I'm not playing by its rules, but by God's rules.
I understand every woman is in her own different point in the way and in her relationship and surrender to God, so that's not my business. To sum it up, it's an intimate, personal matter of love. And of good taste too!
Excellent! The Bible verse that drives that point home best is Dt. 22:5.
I wear dresses exclusively and refuse to cut my hair as an act of rebellion too.
Another great video!!! I'm currently in RCIA, and Lizzie you helped so much in my journey to get here, I'm forever grateful! I recommend if you visit the Northeast where I'm from you get some fleece-lined leggings to wear under your skirts/ dresses. They help soo much and you can't tell they are any thicker by looks, but they are so cozy! I love to dress up for Mass also, and enjoy wearing a veil. It's mostly for God but also my hair is purple so I'm not trying to draw attention to myself & distract anyone, I want to make sure God gets ALL the attention! Keep being your awesome inspiring self!! It's sooo appreciated, personally I don't really have any irl Catholic friends yet in my journey and I'm sure I'm not the only one who starts this alone. What you are doing is super crucial and so very encouraging! Peace & smiles from Ohio! :)
Hearing how this has positively change your worship at mass is very encouraging! As a man, this has inspired me to dress even more appropriately for mass. Thanks!
👍👍👍👍 our dresses shouldn't be a source of distraction or temptation for others...
But it is.. walk around naked and see what happens. There was a reason why historical they use to arrest people when they were immoraly dressed.
Charles Coulombe said if all you had was 2 burlap sack cloths to wear. Wear the nicest of the two.
Since 1995 I stopped wearing pants unless I'm exercising, if I go out of my house I wear a skirt or a dress and it's been such a blessing! Secular women at work have also started wearing more dresses and skirts in every job that I've had since. I've always found that interesting!
Love this Lizzy! Your journey has been so beautiful!
Wait! This is so exciting!! I haven't watched your channel in a while and this is so relatable... I used to wear tanks and flip flops too.....now I wear dresses and skirts 😊🙏🙏🙏
I agree, and always have, I am sooo happy you made this blog! I pray other young Ladies take this to heart, and realize this is for our Lord, He above all deserves our upmost respect and Love!
I'm glad this works for you! For me, I just like to come as I am, which is why I don't like wearing makeup to worship, I just want it to be about God and me and not how I look.
That's the best attitude. Church is not a fashion show.
Yes! It’s about what works for you! And nobody should feel pressured to change what works for them.
Exactly
I started to only wear skirts & dresses to Church when I started wear my veil
This is amazing!! Thank you for dressing as a young lady when you're in Church. The good lady was sent by God to lead you closer to God.
😊💛🙏
I'm glad you decided to dress for God. I'm not sure if you wear a veil or not, but it also feels so special, like God is giving you a special blessing, indescribable!
You are being transformed, Lizzie, in Christ! Amazing! I think you will be a lovely Saint!
awesome video! i am trying to do the same. i started veiling at mass a few years ago for the same reasons and now i am feeling like i want to go further and wear skirts/dresses to mass to help me be more reverent to Jesus. but i will admit, it is hard sometimes! i am the mom of a toddler and i am pregnant and sometimes pants or leggings are more practical/comfy. i think this video gave me some good ideas and encouragement, especially for winter outfits. thanks, Lizzie! :)
You have just inspired me!
I just have ONE single dress for Mass but now, I am going to look for more. Love you!
Here in the Philippines, our older genertions would always tell us to dress our BEST (more than how we dress going to mall, parties or even on a date) because this is the time we're meeting our Lord, it's a sign of respect and reverence and He only deserves our best :)
We were always told to wear our Sunday best.
At Our Lady of Victories in QC all ladies wear skirts/dresses and veils :) really really beautiful church and Eucharist celebrations too :)
Loved hearing this story, wow. It's always been a rule in my family to cover knees and shoulders to go in a church. I still wear pants but I always dress up, I LOVE dressing up for mass, it makes everything more special as you said. I feel like it's what everyone does in Italy, I've never seen anyone with flipflops in church lol
But btw why are you so sweet Lizzie 😭
Several months ago, I started wearing skirts and dresses exclusively, and I absolutely love it! They are so beautiful and feminine, and I honestly have no desire to wear pants again. I thought it would be inconvenient, but it really hasn't been. I also feel that this decision has brought me closer to Christ.
Update: I have now continued this practice for the better part of three years, and I continue to believe that it is not only helpful, but required of Catholic women. Throughout most of history, all women wore long, full skirts. The basic guidelines for modesty, as written by the Cardinal Vicar of Pope Pius XI around the year 1928, are these: “A dress cannot be called decent which is cut deeper than two fingers breadth under the pit of the throat; which does not cover the arms at least to the elbows; and scarcely reaches a bit beyond the knees. Furthermore, dresses of transparent materials are improper.” As these guidelines illustrate, the idea of pants for women was not even under consideration at that point.
Very true dear I had a dream I saw Jesus he told me if I want to be close to him I should remove my pants.
@@naanasarfowaa9932 wow that’s such a beautiful story!
Really ????
@@mpatey63 Yes. Before the middle of the twentieth century, no dignified Catholic lady (or any woman, for that matter) would dream of wearing pants in public. The good custom of wearing skirts has been preserved to this day in many Latin Mass communities.
in February will be 2 years since I stopped wear pants at all. no matter what I'm in a dress/skirt. even if it's -30°C in winter. doesn't matter.
but when I go to Mass I always go a lil bit extra bc I like to dress up for Jesus (but just a lil bit)
also I always look on point bc in this world when every girl wears pants, when you are in a skirt and some kind of sweater, you already look different from other people. I also get a lot of compliments in my day to day life.
also sisters in my parish really appreciate it bc they are really worried about this stuff.
AND i think everyone should dress modesty, both boys and girls, especially to Mass✨
I will appreciate, if you you do OOTD for Mass!!!! thank you💖
@@makeawkwardcomments You have the right attitude. Too many people view church as a fashion show.
God bless you.
Love this! I've had a similar journey towards how I dress for Mass. Still wear shorts/trousers sometimes to Adoration or Confession, usually when it's an unexpected Church visit. Since I started veiling I try to dress better for love of Jesus
Genuine and simple this lady. So chill. God and you are making it work 👍🏻
It's beautiful how the Holy Spirit convicts so many in the gift of modesty. I can relate to your testimony on mainly wearing dresses for the Lord. I walk on my tips toes too to minimize the click of my heels. 😆 Yes! More modesty fashion videos please!!
Ah, but sometimes when we are in a meeting at church, I go to see Jesus the way I am. This means that maybe we should care about our outfit all the time, at least dress up modestly.
Very true
dessabeca we are supposed to be the temple of the Holy Ghost all day, every day.
I've been thinking about the same thing. I've been veiling for 3 years and it has made a difference. Thank you for tgis video. God continue blessing you. 🙇♀️
Love this!! A beautiful and gentle challenge to apply to my life. Thank you!
I totally agree. We dress to impress when we do important things and what is more important than going to church to worship God? Ladies please don’t wear spaghetti straps or skin baring outfits. It’s just disrespectful. Also for older women like myself, I’m 56, we are to set an example for younger women. They may not “get it” now but hopefully our example will eventually sink in.
God doesn't dwell in a temple made with hands. Neither is He worshipped by men's hands. Wear whatever you want that's not offensive in the obvious ways, and have church wherever you and others together feel freely to do so.
Your walk sounds exhausting.
Jesus said he would take your burden, you should let Him.
Actually, her walk sounds liberating!
@@addison4206 Letting Jesus take the burden doesn't mean not caring about anything. Remember the walk is not supposed to be an easy stroll, it's on the narrow path.
@@addison4206 Obviously you are not Catholic. You don't get it at all.
I love wearing a skirt to church. I almost never wear skirts anywhere else, so it makes it feel special
Interesting
Hi Lizzie , thank you for your all informative information that it seems that has no longer followed by some faithfuls., and thank you very much for bringing back that used should be all the catholic faithfuls know how it is important to act in front in God. Very appreciated
Yes, please do a video on your outfits for Mass! I love looking for new outfit ideas because Mass is basically the only time where I dress up 😂
Yaayy I'm glad you all want me to make that video!! I def will make it!
Dressing modestly; which is a commandment of our LORD, means wearing that which draws as little attention to our outward appearence as possible. Let our charity in Christ be the fashon which is adored by bystanders,
Jesus is KIng. Peace.
Oh, what a beautiful explanation. So interesting how God works with us. Thank you. God Bless.
So glad you contextualized you decision on being based on God and not the views of men or others. I 100% agree with you and also wear dresses or dressy clothes to mass because I feel it enhances our experience as worshipers 🥰
I was surprised to see this video, but I’m so excited for you! 15 years ago, I read Dressing with Dignity by Colleen Hammond, and I switched to skirts only (and I’m in Wisconsin)
My husband and four little sons all wear suits and I believe it helps them put themselves in the mindset that this is the most important part of their week. In the summer they do short sleeve shirts with ties and vests.
Just saw this before getting started on switching out summer to winter clothes.
I've wanted to start wearing more dresses in general and do wear them when I am lectoring at Mass. Otherwise, not so much. This video has inspired me to step it up.
I also love watching episodes of " Father Brown " which is set in the 1950's. The women just look so stylish!! Modesty is a win/ win situation.
Looking forward to your fashion episode !!
RIP when I used to wear JEANS to LATIN MASS 😭 I have to say is that I love wearing dress pants to Mass. I love dressing them up with heels and a cute jacket 🧥 but I also do incorporate the dresses and skirts 😍 Also Lizzie I ADORE your top. It looks so beautiful on you and it’s so feminine !!!
This is so good. Thank you. At last weeks Mass, for Christ the King, the Priest's Homily was asking us to consider how would you dress, how would you present yourself to go to meet with an Earthly King, or President, or anyone in high esteem. How would you dress for a wedding? A date at a special restaurant? Or even work unless you work in scrubs or a uniform? I realize I need to pay better attention to this myself. I live in south Florida and being so hot most of they year, we dress pretty casually for Church. I once asked a Muslim friend who wore the Hijab how she was able to tolerate it during the heat of the summer. She reminded me, it is a sacrifice she offers to God, and she was willing to to suffer a little lo please Him.
I wonder...if you were invited to the White House to meet the President, what would you wear? And isn’t God more important than the President?
If I got invited to the White House to meet the President, I’d wait until after Jan. 20. And yes, I’d wear a dress.
@@songbirds3712 ooo that's tomorrow!
@@songbirds3712oh yes, the next pro-baby murder president! Would love to meet him. 🙄🙄
@@LittleFlowerluv if you don’t want an abortion then don’t get one. It’s simple. But I’d much rather have a pro abortion candidate (and as a Muslim Islam allows abortion in certain circumstances) than a man who has incited hatred and violence, and is a misogynist with a history of sexual harassment and assault.
@@imanf3882 as a believer in god you would know that life is precious and all other rights stem from it. It is the most fundamental teaching of any faith. Yes Trump did not always use the best language but he did a lot for life and I respect him for that.
Thanks Lizzie!!! I agree with you! Also you can upcycle skirts from the thrift store by lengthening with a new hem panel.
I don't do this but huge respect to you. Interested in you sharing more winter mass looks, Thanks 🥰
she presents her experience in a very mature way!! so wonderful and encouraging to evangelize to other girls and women. praying the same age guys in my family would meet a young lady just like her!!
Beautiful Lizzy..love your soul. How you reflect on things and think about your deeds. I could never wear shorts in church and i think it should be mentioned more often in these circles...because we are called to correct one another, as brothers and sisters
I just LOVE that you made a video about this! I love how counter-culture you're being. It takes so much courage to live out life differently than others. I'm glad you've found a closer relationship with God through this. I've recently discovered the same thing regarding modesty with Him. All my love
💛💛💛
I would love to see an ootd for Mass video. Your journey home has been inspiring to watch !
I feel the same! I too, used to dress comfy casual to church, I felt that Jesus was happy to have me and I didn’t want to dress up to be “showy”. Over time, I noticed how I would dress up and/or style my hair when going out for an evening with friends or a date. It hit me, If I can fix up for my social life, I should look my best for Jesus.
I know that not everyone can afford dress up AND casual clothes so I don’t judge- like you, I’m happy to see people taking the time to be with Jesus.
So glad you are being a light in this time. The Holy Spirit is surely at work through you!
May God continue to bless your journey!!!
I attend a Methodist Church in Nigeria and I've never worn trousers to church in my life. We even tie head scarves here.
We had two couples from Nigeria at Saturday mass here in Prague and I was so impressed by the women's clothing, it was folded, tucked and pressed, very complex and quite crisp and handsome.
@@thomasmcewen5493 I laughed at "complex". We're taught to dress modestly to church, both male and female.
Great perspective and another very reasonable video. Thank you! As as guy: Always collared shirt. But maybe I could wear more jackets or a suit. I will reflect on it.
I haven't worn a dress/skirt in years for anything. Even as a child I wore shorts under my school dress every day ... never really associated the "dress" with God but understood the importance of 'dressing up in nicest clothes' for going to His house.
This is great video! #stillrelevant #whoGodis
Thank you lizzie!!! Im with you
God is always with me... not just at church.
Thanks for talking about this. After my second child, I practically started only wearing long/midi skirts and dresses.
When I was a teen, the Holy Spirit convinced my heart that I needed to at least equal the amount of time I dedicated to my makeup and attire with time in daily scripture reading and prayer. I’m over 60 now, and It’s been a good guideline throughout life!
Thank you for this address to us!
Also, how lovely it is to express to my Creator and Saviour my faith, gratitude, and agreement with his plan for who He made me to be, and with His plan for my life , by dressing in a way that is distinct for my gender. It’s like telling Him, “I agree with you, God- and ALL you have planned for me as a woman!” 👍
Great video. Love your Mass outfits!
I feel so good dressing modestly, I love wearing my long, silk designer skirt that I found in a thrift store.
I get where you are coming from, and I appreciate your non-judgemental outlook. I'm glad you've found how you like to dress for Mass! However, at least for me, it really isn't practical most of the time. I live in Canada, where the weather gets pretty brutal. I also go to weekday Mass right before a full day of classes and rehearsals as I am a fourth-year university music major. Wearing dresses and skirts to morning Mass is just not practical. It's also not practical to wear dresses if I go to the adoration chapel, as I am typically stopping in after a long day of music school.
I try to wear dresses to Sunday Mass in the summer. However, with -20 winter weather, even wearing a sweater dress with tights or leggings won't do it! You need a thick coat, boats, a sweater, and warm pants or jeans. You can get dressed up if you want to, but it's more about your presence and reverence than what you wear. I've seen people come to Mass in workout clothes after just running marathons, CAF uniforms, shorts, and more. I've never batted an eye. I'm just grateful that they are there worshipping God in the family.
I live in California. Its pretty warm here. But on colder days, rainy days. I found that jeans didnt keep me warm. Dresses or skirts with fleece lined tights/leggings all the way! 😁
Kaitlyn you can look up for this group in Facebook: facebook.com/groups/DressingWithDignity It will give you a different perspective, you might not like it or might love it, just be open to meditate on it and pray about it, asking for the saints guidance and the Holy Souls of Purgatory.
@@veronican9110 also those thermal underwear for women made just for that...
Being hot is not a good enough reason to dress immodestly, you can offer that up and also the pain of at least changing for mass or adoration, since you can make it as an outer act of love to show the Reverence and Solemnity that God wants from us and an act of Love towards the beauty he created in your own body, as a way of addorning yourself for your visit the same way you should practice virtue to make yourself more beautiful in the eyes of God and not hurt his loving merciful heart. Blessings :3

So proud of my catholic church!!!!🙏🔥🇵🇷
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 You got it girl!!! I haven’t been buying clothes too much but I did order shoes and clothes for church much like your wardrobe 😊
Really nice point of view! Thank you
I'm a Muslim and I wear an abaya when I enter a Mosque. The Iman loved and it was a sign of modesty
I wear dresses, skirts and the chapel veil. 🙏 I have two lace veils that I bought from Evintage. So beautiful and wearing them they heighten my feelings of quiet reverence in front of the Blessed Sacrament, while deep in prayer and while in contemplation. 🕊
To me, dress pants (not tight jeans) are more modest than dresses which expose the leg.
I wear my best clothes but I wear dress pants. I got ugly legs anyway so I won’t expose them.
I feel so funny in skirts and they dont always look good on me. Dress slacks are more comfortable, but less pretty for sure.
I feel the same way.
I'm not particularly graceful and I work with children (sitting on the floor, reaching high, reaching low, climbing on a stepladder, etc) so mincing around in a little skirt would be both impractical and immodest.
This is amazing. I had a similar experience too. One Sunday I was arranging sits in church and one gentleman walked up to me and said. " Sister you don't look fine" , "I am totally fine", I replied. Then he smiled at me and said, your skirt is short though not too short but that's how it starts, with time you might start wearing even shorter skirts than this. In the Catholic church, anything above the knee is indecent. From then onwards I made to a commitment not to wear skirts or dresses above my knees to mass
I have worn a dress to church every week of my life and you have just perfectly put into words the reason why I have enjoyed it. Dressing up separates us from the world and all the other remarks you expressed so well. I believe that Jesus will continue to be with me throughout the week as well and that is why I continue to dress modestly throughout the week. It does influence how I act and think. Therefore it deepens my relationship with the Savior. He is always there. We distance ourselves from him by our choices.
So so proud of you speaking out on our behalf
❤️❤️❤️
God love you, may your numbers increase!
It is an act of charity to help each other not to commit sin.
What sin is there in not wearing dresses?
@@ZorshaBellydancer1 men are very visual creatures. I know it is within the person to control himself but it will really help them not to go to that inner fight when they are not able to see a woman in an outfit that is designed to sexually attract the opposite sex. That is why it is an act of charity for women to dress modestly to help the other not to commit sin. Most men's weakness are sins of the flesh. I think God demands us to help one another specially is His place of worship.
I like my Jesus Christ said, " if your own eye is causing you to sin then pluck it out". Men need to stop blaming others for their behavior. Truth is I know women were raped while wearing a burks. Lets not pretend that being fully covered is going keep certain people from abusive behavior.
@@ZorshaBellydancer1 isn't that what i said? That is it is an act of charity to help each other not to commit sin.
Rapist are criminals, that is just beyond the topic. While we are on this topic. I can give my opinion on it. There are a lot of reason for a rapist to make his crime. They have criminal minds. Wearing modestly is like wearing a mask to reduce risk of getting infected. The way of dressing is can also be a way to reduce risk of such danger. That is why soldiers wear camouflage to reduce being found by the enemy. You don't know who you encounter have criminal minds so it is still a good idea to wear something that doesn't catches the eye of the criminal.
@@ZorshaBellydancer1 we cannot just pluck someone's eyes out. Are you willing to fund the person's living if he becomes disabled? Why not just remove the culture the immodesty that is much easier to do. Even just in the churches, i think that is very simple rule to follow, isn't it.
Thrift stores are also a good place to look at for affordable dress clothes
Thank you for this! I really liked how you spoke on the topic! 😄
Here's a thought I had for you and if be interested to know your responding thoughts.
So we know as Catholics that if we are in the state of grace then God is with us wherever we go: the beach, a restaurant, a party with friends etc...so remembering this makes me wonder if we should take the principles that you outline in this video into all situations. Obviously not the formality! 😆
For example, why should we only dress modestly for God when we enter a church? Why not always , to remind us that we are in the state of grace or that we should strive to be in this state?
I agree 100% and regarding winter ❄️ it can be done ... I went to Catholic school my whole life and ALWAYS had to wear a school uniform which of course was a skirt! A good pair of tights was all that was needed 😊
Finally you got it ,thank you Lizzie but ,let me tell you some thing, one day we went to Mass and i saw this young woman wearing SHORTS that is a NO NO, NO RESPECT FOR OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST and she was distracting other man ,😠😢
GOD BLESS YOU LIZZIE 🕇📿❤
Good for you . Now you have more virtues, humility & modesty. Wear your best when you go visit The King of Kings. God Bless you.
You are growing in Grace.
I'm an old fart, and new convert. I only attend Traditional Latin Mass and only wear skirts. It is more comfortable and more reverent. That is wisdom we get when we are old farts.

What is good to wear is long dresses and have Winter pants under. I also using harempants in black, or long wide soft pants so it lookes like dress When I have on. 😊
So proud of you, God bless, our role model for femininity is the Blessed Mother and you have never yet to see a statue of her in jeans. we sisters wear habits down to the ankles, amen
I thought this was clickbait at first, but I’m so happy to see this direction. I’ve increasingly felt weird about wearing pants to Mass. Like, something about it just feels a little off to me... In the summertime, I switch to skirts/dresses exclusively all week long (I almost never wear shorts now). Now that it’s getting colder, I employ the the leggings-under-skirt trick! But all my skirts have to come at least to the knee, whether I use leggings or not, or whether I’m going to Mass or not. ☀️
I actually can appreciate that you feel this way about the way you present yourself, truly; but, it's what you're clothing your flesh with. Jesus says, "the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God".
In other words, render to Ceasar the things which are Ceasar's, and to God the things that are God's.
Be not found naked; be clothed by the Spirit in the righteousness of Christ and free yourself from the law that all men are condemned by. Simply believe the gospel and you'll be saved, being found in Him, having not your own righteousness.
Thank you Lizzi I don't want to wear skinny jeans but i can't find loser jeans and if i do they're more expensive, thank you for the tips and yeah I'm very cold in winter and I don't think I could handle the skirts or dresses but this would work perfectly. Beautiful wardrobe!!!
I like to veil at Mass or doing mystic practices because it makes me feel more... distinct? Also, “let’s say hi to Jesus”, that’s the best thing.
That lady was rude btw and I think that she was totally wrong and I have to agree with your best friend. There’s some people that think there’s only one way to look like a Catholic and they’ll bully people into behaving in ways to make them comfortable. Was she thinking about how she was making you comfortable? No.
And that’s not okay.
I’ve been in the Church my whole life and I’ve seen how some people act. Literally how you dress in Church is up to you if you feel like you’re honoring God.
I don’t want you to fall into spiritual abuse, because it’s very easy to do with some people.
But I think that it’s good to make going to Mass an occasion because it reminds us of what’s important-the Eucharist.
Also, I love your outfit in this video! God bless 🙂💕
Yeah, once I went to an impromptu Latin Mass in professional but loose black trousers, looking fairly formal, wearing my veil. Afterwards a woman came up to me and said if I'm wearing a veil I can't wear trousers because it's half modesty. I know where she was coming from but it was disappointing
@@andimcdove Yeah, that’s a horrible attitude for that woman to have towards you and it was rather pompous of her, truthfully
The Christian life is a communal life and we should be able to admonish one another and speak the truth in love to others. We should be looking out for the good of others, even if it's uncomfortable to because love is not just about accepting people and everything they do, love is helping them, not just to be happy, but more importantly, to be holy.
@@thehippiecatholic I think you would like this post: "Pants:a manifesto"
@simchafisher.wordpress.com.
It's practical and humorous.
I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL 😻
I just talked to my friend A.J. Rivera about you yesterday, you will have a new subscriber soon, I think.
God works in mysterious ways and takes us out of our comfort zone...she seems like she is being called deeper into her faith. God bless.
I'd like a church outfit video!
Yaayyy okay I will def make it!!!
@@LizziesAnswers yes please... Church outfits video needed... Also if you could throw some light on wearing a veil...
It is totally possible to wear skirts and dresses during the cold months. I only wear skirts and dresses because of modesty and femininity reasons. I also live in a part of the U.S. were it can reach below zero during the winter. You gave some great tips on how to be warm and dressed up in a skirt during the winter. I also agree that it is wonderful to dress up for Mass. I always liked how in the old days everyone had their "Sunday best." God Bless you!
