@unohana Retsu djent is essentially progressive metal with fixation on the low end and driving grooves. The administration of polymeters, and precision required by a whole band to keep time while using different time signatures is a feat in itself.

I hate it when people say shredding has "no feeling." These people assume just because it is fast that that's the only thing the guitarist cares about. Just because the guitar solos don't sound like a Nirvana song down doesn't mean it lacks feeling, you probably just don't like it. Go listen to Per Nilsson, Jeff Loomis, Paul Wardingham, Christian Muenzner, Angel Vivaldi, and/or Tosin Abasi. All of them are very technical but have superb phrasing. Why? Because they know how to make speed sound good. Also, I personally opine that both are good, but together are great.
As I grow older, I realize I'm not a big fan of shred. I love the fact that it takes so much skill and practice to do, but its just not heavy enough for me. Also, even before I started playing guitar, I was always a huge fan of music that had killer technical riffs, and kick ass solos. Shred is a really cool concept, and can sometimes be really cool to listen to, but the majority of it isnt for me. (Lol, I know no one cares, I just felt like expressing my opinion)

Djent - Rhythm Guitar
Shred - Lead Guitar
I was just pressed to bee your 500th like😁
Thanks bro and also Djent is a Power Chords. 😁
I would listen to that band
basically yes
And Dimebag is…?
Why not.....Shrent?
Why not shred on one guitar, djent on an other with bass strings and only blast beat on drum kit ?

Djred?
Why not shred on bass and djent on guitar cuz that would be interesting

Djenting is a bass skill. Shreding is a guitar skill. Each can boost your exp while using an 8 string guitar.
