Random assortment of tips: 1. I believe Hu Tao's HP should be around 30k, not 35k. If you have Homa you usually want to equip an EM sands. 2. Lavawalker is good for reverse melt builds and pure pyro builds. Kaeya, Rosaria, Chongyun, Aloy, Yanfei and Klee can all use this set. 3. If you hate farming this domain, 2pc Crimson and 2pc Tencaity/Wanderer's are also really good and perform only slightly worse than 4pc Crimson and 4pc Shimenawa.

@@tworice Cause if you look at her skill description, she gains ATK bonus based on her mac HP after using her skill. So people usually run her with a HP sands.
@@tworice At E talent level 10. Lvl90 hutao HP req : ( base attack of weapon + Hutao base attack (106)) x 40/ 0.062 This gives you value to aim for. With Homa , it's a bit open ended as there is no limit on bonus attack you get from Homa passive So min is 30k and you can keep going.
I actually do number 3, except that I have fallen out of 2 pc crimson now and is running an extreme copium set of 2 pc wanderer's sands and goblet, 1 pc gladiator flower (og off-piece), 1 pc lavawalker circlet, and og 1 pc crimson feather. Compared to my og 4 pc crimson, I lost about 30% pyro dmg bonus which is bad, but I gained relatively much more, notably 51/195 crit ratio to 76/218 and 74 em to 153, as well as hp and atk. I don't know if that's exactly the case, but dmg numbers don't lie. I still want to either get a lucky shimenawa set while farming emblem or farm crimson for the second time and get lavawalker off-pieces though.
I run shimenawa hu tao for 3 reasons, I already farmed that domain for Ei's artifacts, my luck is somewhat better at that domain than any other ones, and I tried farming crimson domain but quit on day one because I used all of my resin without getting a single 5 star crimson piece. NOT A SINGLE PIECE, ALL OF IT WAS LAVAWALKER.
I’ve been exclusively doing this domain for a month straight and only got one piece that is a slightly upgrade to what I had… the rates are horrendous.
I hope that whenever the adventure rank cap increases from 60, they'll add another level to each domain for more 5 stars at once. I think that'll help alot
I feel you, I spent about 2 months getting absolute trash in the crimson domain, but then I got like 4 great pieces in about a week. Just gotta keep at it I guess, the rates are really awful.
@@syedabdulrehman8254 The problem is 4 piece sets tbh. I get plenty of crit rate hats, but lots of them are glad or wanderers because of bosses. They're really good as off-sets, but usually I reserve the off-set piece to the goblets, since it's so hard to get the correct element on set. Then theres the gambling of rolling the correct upgrade stats, it's really a terrible system.
@@amely4614 Kind of. Her c1 does not affect this and keep in mind your overall stats (Crit ratio/EM/HP) will make or break any set. Shime’s dmg will be comparable to crimson witch if you have Homa, crimson is more reliable in any other situation. You might lose out on overall dps if you can’t manage to do her burst which is the biggest drawback compared to the guaranteed pyro dmg increase with crimson. It all comes down to how much you want to farm and if you enjoy charged attack focused playstyle on Hu Tao

remember Albedo increases your team’s EM by like 125 or something when he uses his burst (second ascension passive) so maybe that may help with your EM issues
Shimenawa has higher potential dmg for the charged atks and it is much more resin efficient since emblem is a way better and more versatile set than lavawalker, it's still a really good set, dw about it, it is arguably a lot better for an account which doesn't do resin refreshes since the dmg gained through good emblem pieces on other characters is more than worth it and you really don't loose out on much. In addition you can argue that average shimenawa pieces will just have better stats since you can actually get value from the domain for other characters aswell and thus are farming it anyway where with crimson witch you are ONLY farming for your hu tao and you can't really keep that up long enough as a f2p or low spender to get an insane set
Yes but deep down, as a Hu Tao main, if I ran shimenawa I would feel bad, wasting a few thousand resin is worth it for me, but after 3 months I’m a little bit drained

Shimenawa's NA and CA beat crimson even when vaporizing, even with the burst it ends up doing a little more damage with the cost of those 15 energy Check Keqing mains hutao page, even them have shimenawa's set with a higher damage potential than crimson for hutao

elemental mastery actually does more damage than hp% when u hit reactions by quite a margin supposing u dont have an em weapon like dragon's pain but you need to be above 30k hp if u want to see really good results which is why the damage was only comparable in your case

@@tworice Having her at 30k HP is not a necessity, it's just a benchmark for an ideal amount of HP. Generally, em sands will do more damage than an HP sands regardless of the total hp you have. What I said above is mostly for moga's case, whereas your case, an HP sands is actual better because you already have a ton of em on your weapon. Having any more from the sands will lead to diminishing returns. Basically too much em. If I'm unclear please ask as I tend to phrase things in a wrong way regularly.
Im doing 83k Vape charged with shimenawa. And get her burst back in like 5 seconds. In my oppinion shimenawa has more vallue because of the domain. You can farm 2 great sets. While crimson witch fucks you with lavawalker.

Maybe your e duration already ended before you used your burst lol. Thats what i experienced before when i used shimenawa, i had to switch cuz i wanna use her burst too (─.─||） getting back your energy without having additional er is kinda tough
damn my ult does over 300k to 500k when I've gone for big numbers it's gotten over 1 million. I use crimson witch will always be hu taos best in my opinion my stats are 73% crit rate with around 263% crit damage.
I used to run Shinenawa Hu Tao, but the substats were kinda bad, and somehow I could get good substats in crimson witch so my dmg got much higher, so much that I can finally reach 100k dmg
If you have better shiminawa just stick to it the domaine will give u much better artifacts (severed emblem) trust me lava Walker is useless And also because the dmg is basically the same

Even though I can run this domain on my own, sometimes I just go to co-op with Kokomi. I couldn't have got my set without her. Congrats on your Crimson Hu Tao. I was surprised to see how comparable the damage was to Shimenawa.
I use shimenawa with Hu Tao because of how efficient it is to farm with that domain. I never got a full set crimson despite being a diluc and yanfei main before lol they thrive with 2 pc crimson and 2 pc whatever, usually glad or noblesse
@@chinjinsen64bit53 I was farming for my Diona but the substats kept going into crit rate/crit dmg/HP/atk instead of energy recharge so I just gave them to Hu Tao as a joke but it dealt more than my crimson artifacts (which are terrible)

I can say am proud to have finished crimson witch hu tao after 3 months of every day farming. I now have a godly cw set and i haven't come close to wu hang hill since i finished building
@@TShorty929 My hutao is triple crowned on SW and my burst is still a nuke. Not quite that high but trust me. It's always over 130 minimum off a vape or melt
@@killmyaura cool. If that makes you happy then keep doing it. It is more than viable. I'm 10/10/9 and been on CW since her launch and I believe my highest hit with Hu Tao was just under 300k. 200-250k bursts are pretty normal on the vapes or melts to me, and there is room for improvement on my build/team builds. I lack a bit of EM, so yah, if I C2 Kazuha or run Sucrose or Albedo, that burst damage is going to be insanely higher still. Even going from 9->10 on burst will add 29% to the burst. That's some phat damage.
People probably won't see this because the video is a a couple of weeks old by this point, but some technology I'm enjoying (mostly because it lets me use pieces I have which rolled very nicely) is 2 piece crimson 2 piece wanderers. The extra EM feels extremely nice and you don't miss out on much, plus you'll end up with a lot of wanderers just passively from farming bosses and weeklies
I have been farming the crimson witch domain for what feels like 2 months but my hu Tao's crit is still 53/175. Funny thing is I have preety good circlet ,a good pyro damage goblet and a feather with 18 crit rate. But I am yet to find a good hp sand and a flower which are one of the "easier" things to farm apparently. I'll stop farming when zongli banner drops cuz I have to farm his set after that. Fml.... NOTE. Crimson hu tao is definitely superior than shemenawa. The charge attack damage is similar AND you get better access to your ult which is a major source of damage and helps with your survival and I frames(plus she looks really cool). Even with 175 crit damage I am doing 50k plus charge attacks. It's just that shemenawa is easier to farm and more efficient for your overall account.
Yeah, i love applying hydro, switching to kazuha, putting all the enemies together and aplying hydro to them all with his e, switching to hutao, activating her e and then the burst. it always does huge amounts of damage to pretty much everyone.
I used shimenawa on my hu tao, it starts to get really annoying after some time because of the burst constraint that it has, currently 2pc cw 2pc wt, ill slowly move to 4pc cw.
great video!! i got hutao in one 10 pull when i was pulling for thoma. i was focusing on my raiden at that time so i farmed her a decent shimenawa set kinda passively. she is sitting at 70/254, still working on her em but since i usually run her with albedo who gives em, it's not that big of a deal. yeah, not wasting my time and resin on crimson witch...
On my first run that I got a 5-star piece in this domain, I got a CW flower with both crit stats, HP% and ATK%. But I have gotten pretty much nothing else since then.
the thing with Crimson is it's so hard to farm since you'll most likely have your pyro dps having to fight pyro characters and it's just really annoying to clear unlike Shimenawa
It only took me 2 weeks or more after i got her to get a *REALLY* good artefact for hu tao, but my baal is still my proudest character that i build, took me months to build her get a god stats
I use shimenawa since it's incredibly versatile, the domain includes another great artifact set and because sometimes you don't want to ult with hutao since it would overheal you to 50%+ so I often just ended up hoarding it xD
My hu tao does around 35k per charged attack with shimenawa and like 60k - 78k per vaporised when I pair her with xingqiu and 95k - 120k Melt dmg when I pair her with diona and rosaria. I don't necessarily care about her ult much since i get a ton of energy particles from diona and xingqiu. I time hu tao's her ult with her E skill doing around 200k so the set is not a problem for me :).
If you’re using her for abyss and just fighting in general, the energy loss isn’t half bad. You get particles the more charged attacks you do so you’ll still get your burst either way. If it’s because you want to do showcases and one shotting, that’s a different story.
farming eosf for beidou, but "accidentally" got good shimenawa artifacts so i use them on hutao now. definitely better than the 2/2 pc she was using before, mainly because the emblem shimenawa domain feels worth it to farm (therefore, better subs) and you can never convince me to farm the crimson lavawalker domain ever again
I used to think that the artifact sets matched the characters 💀 so I used to only use red artifacts on my Amber and then I used blue artifacts on my kaeya (this was like may when I first started)
I'm running 2 piece crimson and 2 piece noblesse, I love her burst ♡ so I build her as a burst support ♡ her highest damage was around 144k ♡ don't know how, probably was an event ^^' but still need to get better pieces for her
Imo, shimenawa set provides the highest damage ceiling for CA-built hu tao (Preferably c1). Especially with yantao(shieldfei) comp, with no one to steal your vapes from Xq + VV shred and EM or Elem DMG boost (suc/kazuha) + healing (R5 proto amber) and shield from c4 yanfei. You can just focus on your CA rotations without even worrying about your burst.
the thing is, Shimenawa is so much easier to farm than Crimson. Crimson's domain is so annoying, so I'd recommend to farm Shimenawa first, then move on to Crimson when ready (What I'm doing)
The thing is, I don’t want to waste resources leveling up shimenawa artifacts if I’m just gonna switch out the set and not have a character to pass it down to.
Witch stronger is only because of the burst. And extra dmg bonus doesn't affect Hu Tao so much because she has a lot of dmg bonuses in the same block of damage formula(pyro cup, her passive). So if you can buld like 75/250 crit ratio on whatever random pieces (or maybe with 2 piece crimson, still has some effect), crit build might do more than bad full set
Woah, what a coincident I just finished building my crimson witch hu tao and it is nice to do more damage with reactions and having her burst ready most of the time, however I lost a lot of damage from her charged attacks by herself
if you play with elemental reactions playing her with crimson its the way to go. i always find it kinda funny that you play her with xingqui but on shimenawa set. and also not doing her burst... come on. high damage aoe pyro burst. it was definetly not worth. only use shimenawa if you dont play her with reactions (like triple geo or something) but i recommed having both crimson and shimenawa on your hand makes it easier. so later in the game you can farm both. (plus farming shimenawa is something you should always do cause of emblem set.)
so: first off hu tao can use the full crimson set, her blossom counts as skill dmg so it actually triggers the set bonus...they made it extra so she can use this set... secondly the charge attacks are compareable with the shimenawas set, because the crit dmg of the crimson set was way higher and you got more pyro dmg bonus... cause dmg boni stack additively you basically gotta subtract the additional pyro dmg bonus (crimson) from the charge dmg bonus (shimenawas) to get the real increse in dmg bonus and then calculate that with the difference in crit dmg (which scales multiplicatively with the dmg boni) thats why the dmg is so compareable, which is to say for charge attacks shimenawas probably is still the better set, but with crimson you get more blossom, normal attack and burst dmg, so yeah, in general crimson is probably better dmg wise (also crimson is better for reactions, and shimenawas without reactions) also the shimenawas dungeon is nicer to farm cause you get emblem in addition (which is probably one of the best artefact sets)
Farming crimson is a nightmare. I went at if for months and only got a somewhat decent set. My charged attack only capped at 40k I think. It usually just around 30is dmg. Don’t know if that is good or not
lol moga shimenawa is definitely not a bad set. far from it. It's also not as depressing to farm cause it's in the same domain as Emblem which is wayyyyyy better than getting lavawalkers
But getting 4 four perfect crimson artifact for my hutao was the greatest satisfaction i had with 82 to 256 ratio also i dont really like the idea of losing er for skill enhancing while u are already losing hp for it lol
Having farmed crimson at launch for diluc and then again for hu tao's rerun I can say without a doubt it is the most brutal domain in the game in terms of drops. My average runs easily ate 3 to 4 fragiles without producing a single CW piece, much less a decent one.
SR set is more for her charge atk. Although you can still use her burst if you have some ER subs, it's not that easy because you still have to wait and you're also losing the pyro bonus and reaction boost from CW Both set are good, but CW is just more flexible. Also it feels good to burst a wave of ennemies in abyss and oneshot everyone :)
I have hu tao with 37000 hp in my current team (hu tao, ayaka, qiqi and sucrose) but I think I’m gonna give her artifacts to my Yanfei in my future team (Ganyu, ayaka, Jean and yanfei) or should I do the second team but then with hu tao

EM Crimson has biggest single number potential, with the proper sub stats Seeing this video helps me realise just how important sub stats are, and the RIGHT ones, such as HP vs Atk for Ho Tao
This is the first one of his videos that I've seen and I can say it's the first genshin youtuber that I haven't cringed a few times whilst watching their video, they just scream and act like cartoon characters. He keeps it real and doesn't act like a cartoon character, plus he reminds me of Deisel Patches
I think the reason some people go shimenawa is because the domain is more resin efficient since both sets are very useful and universal, unlick crimson which gives lavawalker that no one uses
I am actually using Shimenawa on Hu Tao, with Deathmatch, and I am quite satisfied with it. Not dealing that high damage but she's my strongest DPS so far.
Your Hu Tao's defense was pretty good, almost 1,000. Even though their high health would allow them to get hit by elite enemy heavy attacks and not be 1 or 2 hits from death. The effects of high defense aren't as flashy as the offensive stats but it still does a lot of work, it's even more obvious with really high health. I wish you luck in the artifact mines.
For some reason my luck on the Crimson domain is good. Didn't spend too much time farming to get good artifacts in that domain. The Shimenawa domain on the other hand though... the tree might as well just give me the middle finger every time I claim the reward.

Me personally I like Crimson Witch for Hu Tao more. You can get 50% more normal and charged attack or get 22.5%, 15% on top, which is equal to 80 EM and is very good, and Hu Tao's ultimate is very good when it vapes so I prefer that too. The 15% Vape damage is actually bigger than 15% Pyro damage bonus according to the damage calculator, so Hu Tao is probably getting 40% More Damage Bonus from Crimson Witch and her Ultimate vs. 50% and no Ultimate. As long as her ultimate vapes I see Crimson more worth it.
Got a 70 - 160 Crimson Set after 5 months of farming. Got a 74 - 245 Shimenawa after farming since launch. (And 3 decent EoS sets for my supports & Raiden) I wish they gave us a 1 Artifact only dungeon.
My advice for new player who are thinking of use hu tao as your main dps go for the shime sets one you unlocked inazuma just because shime is with the emblem sets and emblem sets is like literally one of the best set for support character
I mean, you gave me the idea of going shimenawa for Hu Tao, got insanely better stats compared to witch ones at 76 crit rate, 235 crit DMG with 30k HP and 107 EM. It has been such a long time with that set, that I use her burst just to heal and occasional 150k of damage lol
shimenawa's reminiscence is cracked. I use it on Ganyu because I was farming for Raiden and got a ton of good shimenawa's pieces, and also my blizzard strayer luck is nonexistence XD I've been farming that domain for EVER trying to get good pieces. I have good heart of depth pieces for my Mona, so I guess there's that, but I have literally never gotten a good blizzard strayer sands, goblet, or circlet ever.
Ever since hu tao first release i used the artifacts i pre farmed for her because it brings back memories since she was the first character that i farmed for and got 5 star artfacts etc even brought the bp for her Her only problem is her circlet but it’d be an easy fix as long as it’s main stat is crit dmg and there’s some hp and em :) crit rate would be appreciated too Overall im fine with her build she does decent damage and everything
look at these stats 9:43. Like it's quite a big difference between 181% and 217% crit DMG, but the result is almost the same. If Shimenawa had same crits, it would probably be much better

Compared to my og 4 pc crimson, I lost about 30% pyro dmg bonus which is bad, but I gained relatively much more, notably 51/195 crit ratio to 76/218 and 74 em to 153, as well as hp and atk. I don't know if that's exactly the case, but dmg numbers don't lie. I still want to either get a lucky shimenawa set while farming emblem or farm crimson for the second time and get lavawalker off-pieces though.

If you often use Albedo with Hu Tao, then elemental mastery shouldn't be too big of a problem since his burst gives everyone 125 elemental mastery

I run shimenawa hu tao for 3 reasons, I already farmed that domain for Ei's artifacts, my luck is somewhat better at that domain than any other ones, and I tried farming crimson domain but quit on day one because I used all of my resin without getting a single 5 star crimson piece. NOT A SINGLE PIECE, ALL OF IT WAS LAVAWALKER.

I'm pretty sure the charge attack damage being about the same for the two sets is due to the 30% more Crit Damage that you managed to get on CW.

There's a 220 base attack difference between the two. For pure overall damage, CW is better., especially with the burst.
I’ve been exclusively doing this domain for a month straight and only got one piece that is a slightly upgrade to what I had… the rates are horrendous.
I hope that whenever the adventure rank cap increases from 60, they'll add another level to each domain for more 5 stars at once. I think that'll help alot
I feel you, I spent about 2 months getting absolute trash in the crimson domain, but then I got like 4 great pieces in about a week. Just gotta keep at it I guess, the rates are really awful.

@@syedabdulrehman8254 The problem is 4 piece sets tbh. I get plenty of crit rate hats, but lots of them are glad or wanderers because of bosses. They're really good as off-sets, but usually I reserve the off-set piece to the goblets, since it's so hard to get the correct element on set. Then theres the gambling of rolling the correct upgrade stats, it's really a terrible system.
Spent like 3 weeks, got pretty good ones, still room to imrove though. It really depends on luck, I suppose.
The reason is shimanawa set increases attk based on your base attk while crimson which of flame boosts overall pyro damage

@@amely4614 Kind of. Her c1 does not affect this and keep in mind your overall stats (Crit ratio/EM/HP) will make or break any set. Shime’s dmg will be comparable to crimson witch if you have Homa, crimson is more reliable in any other situation. You might lose out on overall dps if you can’t manage to do her burst which is the biggest drawback compared to the guaranteed pyro dmg increase with crimson. It all comes down to how much you want to farm and if you enjoy charged attack focused playstyle on Hu Tao

The biggest advantage of crimson is the vape on your burst. Easy 250K-300k that also heals hutao. Not having burst on my hutao is a no no for me

remember Albedo increases your team’s EM by like 125 or something when he uses his burst (second ascension passive) so maybe that may help with your EM issues
Shimenawa has higher potential dmg for the charged atks and it is much more resin efficient since emblem is a way better and more versatile set than lavawalker, it's still a really good set, dw about it, it is arguably a lot better for an account which doesn't do resin refreshes since the dmg gained through good emblem pieces on other characters is more than worth it and you really don't loose out on much. In addition you can argue that average shimenawa pieces will just have better stats since you can actually get value from the domain for other characters aswell and thus are farming it anyway where with crimson witch you are ONLY farming for your hu tao and you can't really keep that up long enough as a f2p or low spender to get an insane set
Yes but deep down, as a Hu Tao main, if I ran shimenawa I would feel bad, wasting a few thousand resin is worth it for me, but after 3 months I’m a little bit drained

Check Keqing mains hutao page, even them have shimenawa's set with a higher damage potential than crimson for hutao

elemental mastery actually does more damage than hp% when u hit reactions by quite a margin supposing u dont have an em weapon like dragon's pain but you need to be above 30k hp if u want to see really good results which is why the damage was only comparable in your case

@@tworice Having her at 30k HP is not a necessity, it's just a benchmark for an ideal amount of HP. Generally, em sands will do more damage than an HP sands regardless of the total hp you have. What I said above is mostly for moga's case, whereas your case, an HP sands is actual better because you already have a ton of em on your weapon. Having any more from the sands will lead to diminishing returns. Basically too much em. If I'm unclear please ask as I tend to phrase things in a wrong way regularly.

Im doing 83k Vape charged with shimenawa. And get her burst back in like 5 seconds. In my oppinion shimenawa has more vallue because of the domain. You can farm 2 great sets. While crimson witch fucks you with lavawalker.

Maybe your e duration already ended before you used your burst lol. Thats what i experienced before when i used shimenawa, i had to switch cuz i wanna use her burst too (─.─||） getting back your energy without having additional er is kinda tough
damn my ult does over 300k to 500k when I've gone for big numbers it's gotten over 1 million. I use crimson witch will always be hu taos best in my opinion my stats are 73% crit rate with around 263% crit damage.

I used to run Shinenawa Hu Tao, but the substats were kinda bad, and somehow I could get good substats in crimson witch so my dmg got much higher, so much that I can finally reach 100k dmg

Even tho CW had higher CDMG lol - on equal stats, SR still beats CW in rotational damage.
I use shimenawa with Hu Tao because of how efficient it is to farm with that domain. I never got a full set crimson despite being a diluc and yanfei main before lol they thrive with 2 pc crimson and 2 pc whatever, usually glad or noblesse

I'm 10/10/9 and been on CW since her launch and I believe my highest hit with Hu Tao was just under 300k. 200-250k bursts are pretty normal on the vapes or melts to me, and there is room for improvement on my build/team builds. I lack a bit of EM, so yah, if I C2 Kazuha or run Sucrose or Albedo, that burst damage is going to be insanely higher still. Even going from 9->10 on burst will add 29% to the burst. That's some phat damage.

I use shimenawa Hu Tao simply bc I also needed some emblem sets for Xingqiu and Xiangling. Also bc I never got lucky on crimson witch domain.
People probably won't see this because the video is a a couple of weeks old by this point, but some technology I'm enjoying (mostly because it lets me use pieces I have which rolled very nicely) is 2 piece crimson 2 piece wanderers. The extra EM feels extremely nice and you don't miss out on much, plus you'll end up with a lot of wanderers just passively from farming bosses and weeklies
2 Crimson 2 Wanderer's is a good alternative if you have any great WT laying around. You can dump your LW into the Artifact Strongbox, too.
I have been farming the crimson witch domain for what feels like 2 months but my hu Tao's crit is still 53/175. Funny thing is I have preety good circlet ,a good pyro damage goblet and a feather with 18 crit rate. But I am yet to find a good hp sand and a flower which are one of the "easier" things to farm apparently. I'll stop farming when zongli banner drops cuz I have to farm his set after that. Fml....
NOTE. Crimson hu tao is definitely superior than shemenawa. The charge attack damage is similar AND you get better access to your ult which is a major source of damage and helps with your survival and I frames(plus she looks really cool). Even with 175 crit damage I am doing 50k plus charge attacks. It's just that shemenawa is easier to farm and more efficient for your overall account.

Yeah, i love applying hydro, switching to kazuha, putting all the enemies together and aplying hydro to them all with his e, switching to hutao, activating her e and then the burst. it always does huge amounts of damage to pretty much everyone.
I used shimenawa on my hu tao, it starts to get really annoying after some time because of the burst constraint that it has, currently 2pc cw 2pc wt, ill slowly move to 4pc cw.

On my first run that I got a 5-star piece in this domain, I got a CW flower with both crit stats, HP% and ATK%. But I have gotten pretty much nothing else since then.
the thing with Crimson is it's so hard to farm since you'll most likely have your pyro dps having to fight pyro characters and it's just really annoying to clear unlike Shimenawa
It only took me 2 weeks or more after i got her to get a *REALLY* good artefact for hu tao, but my baal is still my proudest character that i build, took me months to build her get a god stats
I use shimenawa since it's incredibly versatile, the domain includes another great artifact set and because sometimes you don't want to ult with hutao since it would overheal you to 50%+ so I often just ended up hoarding it xD

My hu tao does around 35k per charged attack with shimenawa and like 60k - 78k per vaporised when I pair her with xingqiu and 95k - 120k Melt dmg when I pair her with diona and rosaria. I don't necessarily care about her ult much since i get a ton of energy particles from diona and xingqiu. I time hu tao's her ult with her E skill doing around 200k so the set is not a problem for me :).
Instead of getting pyro damage bonus i always get emotional damage bonus
I ABSOLUTELY hate the energy loss on Shimenawa even though farming it would be more resin efficient

If you’re using her for abyss and just fighting in general, the energy loss isn’t half bad. You get particles the more charged attacks you do so you’ll still get your burst either way. If it’s because you want to do showcases and one shotting, that’s a different story.

I used to think that the artifact sets matched the characters 💀 so I used to only use red artifacts on my Amber and then I used blue artifacts on my kaeya (this was like may when I first started)
I'm running 2 piece crimson and 2 piece noblesse, I love her burst ♡ so I build her as a burst support ♡ her highest damage was around 144k ♡ don't know how, probably was an event ^^' but still need to get better pieces for her

Imo, shimenawa set provides the highest damage ceiling for CA-built hu tao (Preferably c1). Especially with yantao(shieldfei) comp, with no one to steal your vapes from Xq + VV shred and EM or Elem DMG boost (suc/kazuha) + healing (R5 proto amber) and shield from c4 yanfei. You can just focus on your CA rotations without even worrying about your burst.
the thing is, Shimenawa is so much easier to farm than Crimson. Crimson's domain is so annoying, so I'd recommend to farm Shimenawa first, then move on to Crimson when ready (What I'm doing)

Witch stronger is only because of the burst. And extra dmg bonus doesn't affect Hu Tao so much because she has a lot of dmg bonuses in the same block of damage formula(pyro cup, her passive). So if you can buld like 75/250 crit ratio on whatever random pieces (or maybe with 2 piece crimson, still has some effect), crit build might do more than bad full set
Having a good artifacts in that domain feels better than getting a 5 star
Woah, what a coincident I just finished building my crimson witch hu tao and it is nice to do more damage with reactions and having her burst ready most of the time, however I lost a lot of damage from her charged attacks by herself

if you play with elemental reactions playing her with crimson its the way to go. i always find it kinda funny that you play her with xingqui but on shimenawa set. and also not doing her burst... come on. high damage aoe pyro burst. it was definetly not worth. only use shimenawa if you dont play her with reactions (like triple geo or something) but i recommed having both crimson and shimenawa on your hand makes it easier. so later in the game you can farm both. (plus farming shimenawa is something you should always do cause of emblem set.)

actually lavawalker could be useful on hydro characters in a vaporise team
so:
first off hu tao can use the full crimson set, her blossom counts as skill dmg so it actually triggers the set bonus...they made it extra so she can use this set...
secondly the charge attacks are compareable with the shimenawas set, because the crit dmg of the crimson set was way higher and you got more pyro dmg bonus...
cause dmg boni stack additively you basically gotta subtract the additional pyro dmg bonus (crimson) from the charge dmg bonus (shimenawas) to get the real increse in dmg bonus and then calculate that with the difference in crit dmg (which scales multiplicatively with the dmg boni)
thats why the dmg is so compareable, which is to say for charge attacks shimenawas probably is still the better set, but with crimson you get more blossom, normal attack and burst dmg, so yeah, in general crimson is probably better dmg wise (also crimson is better for reactions, and shimenawas without reactions)
also the shimenawas dungeon is nicer to farm cause you get emblem in addition (which is probably one of the best artefact sets)
Farming crimson is a nightmare. I went at if for months and only got a somewhat decent set. My charged attack only capped at 40k I think. It usually just around 30is dmg. Don’t know if that is good or not

Having farmed crimson at launch for diluc and then again for hu tao's rerun I can say without a doubt it is the most brutal domain in the game in terms of drops. My average runs easily ate 3 to 4 fragiles without producing a single CW piece, much less a decent one.

SR set is more for her charge atk. Although you can still use her burst if you have some ER subs, it's not that easy because you still have to wait and you're also losing the pyro bonus and reaction boost from CW
Both set are good, but CW is just more flexible. Also it feels good to burst a wave of ennemies in abyss and oneshot everyone :)
I have hu tao with 37000 hp in my current team (hu tao, ayaka, qiqi and sucrose) but I think I’m gonna give her artifacts to my Yanfei in my future team (Ganyu, ayaka, Jean and yanfei) or should I do the second team but then with hu tao

I am actually using Shimenawa on Hu Tao, with Deathmatch, and I am quite satisfied with it. Not dealing that high damage but she's my strongest DPS so far.

Your Hu Tao's defense was pretty good, almost 1,000. Even though their high health would allow them to get hit by elite enemy heavy attacks and not be 1 or 2 hits from death. The effects of high defense aren't as flashy as the offensive stats but it still does a lot of work, it's even more obvious with really high health. I wish you luck in the artifact mines.
Lavawalker is very good for reverse melt comps. You can equip all 4 party members from 1 domain in partys like rosaria/kaeya/bennet/xianling
For some reason my luck on the Crimson domain is good. Didn't spend too much time farming to get good artifacts in that domain. The Shimenawa domain on the other hand though... the tree might as well just give me the middle finger every time I claim the reward.
These artifacts runs are so relatable. And even if crimson artifacts drop we still need luck to get decent sub stats for that

Me personally I like Crimson Witch for Hu Tao more. You can get 50% more normal and charged attack or get 22.5%, 15% on top, which is equal to 80 EM and is very good, and Hu Tao's ultimate is very good when it vapes so I prefer that too. The 15% Vape damage is actually bigger than 15% Pyro damage bonus according to the damage calculator, so Hu Tao is probably getting 40% More Damage Bonus from Crimson Witch and her Ultimate vs. 50% and no Ultimate. As long as her ultimate vapes I see Crimson more worth it.
Got a 70 - 160 Crimson Set after 5 months of farming.
Got a 74 - 245 Shimenawa after farming since launch. (And 3 decent EoS sets for my supports & Raiden)
I wish they gave us a 1 Artifact only dungeon.
My advice for new player who are thinking of use hu tao as your main dps go for the shime sets one you unlocked inazuma just because shime is with the emblem sets and emblem sets is like literally one of the best set for support character
I mean, you gave me the idea of going shimenawa for Hu Tao, got insanely better stats compared to witch ones at 76 crit rate, 235 crit DMG with 30k HP and 107 EM. It has been such a long time with that set, that I use her burst just to heal and occasional 150k of damage lol

shimenawa's reminiscence is cracked. I use it on Ganyu because I was farming for Raiden and got a ton of good shimenawa's pieces, and also my blizzard strayer luck is nonexistence XD I've been farming that domain for EVER trying to get good pieces. I have good heart of depth pieces for my Mona, so I guess there's that, but I have literally never gotten a good blizzard strayer sands, goblet, or circlet ever.
Lavawalker is good in only 2 situations, or you get a insane Crit Rate Helmet or an Insane Pyro Damage Artifact.
And use that as the offset piece.
Ever since hu tao first release i used the artifacts i pre farmed for her because it brings back memories since she was the first character that i farmed for and got 5 star artfacts etc even brought the bp for her
Her only problem is her circlet but it’d be an easy fix as long as it’s main stat is crit dmg and there’s some hp and em :) crit rate would be appreciated too
Overall im fine with her build she does decent damage and everything
look at these stats 9:43. Like it's quite a big difference between 181% and 217% crit DMG, but the result is almost the same. If Shimenawa had same crits, it would probably be much better
