I have a 1903 Lyon and Healy guitar very similar to the lone being played here. Mine is dotted at the tenth fret, odd because today guitars are dotted at the ninth fret.
This tune, Little Black Moustach, was recorded by Clardy and Clements and my name is Clements. They were from south of Grenada, Mississippi. My family was from just north and east of Grenada. I live in north Mississippi and I’ve looked for a long time for a kinship to Stan Clements who I think is the guitar picker on this tune but have failed to find a connection. My grandfather Clements was a fiddle player so I took it up myself but only managed to play enough to call myself a fiddler and not much more. Really enjoy you guys and your music. It’s very authentic. Amazing how close it sounds to the cut on the album.
@@darrellclements4446 We're very familiar with Clardy and Clements, their music is great! This particular version of Little Black Mustache is from a 78 recording by the Nations Brothers, also from Mississippi. Maybe they learned it from Clardy and Clements? Supposedly Clardy and Clements also had a great influence on Narmour and Smith. Thanks for the kind words
Immaculate feeling guys!

I notice you guys play many of the old tunes from the Mississippi String Bands album. Where are you located?
