The map not being updated before 1.0 is absolutely criminal
they metioned that map feature are not off the table.. but after 1.0
There is something I am missing from the game. Before the Cooking system we were cooking just by leaving meat and other products next to the fire. The sound of the burning meat was amazing and you know when the meat is cooked just by listening to it. I kinda miss that simple thing...

@@savani10 taking away being able to lay things down near the fire is a huge miss. Something that small mattered so much for realism. Now you put food near a fire and nothing happens at all like who's idea was this

My biggest problem with SCUM is that I never feel like I truly "Win" any fights. Everyone just spams sector spawns and zergs Danny Trejo. Sector spawn should be widened, tweaked etc so players can actually win their fights and have enough time to loot and go.

As SP player I think this game have 3 problems right now for PVE. 1st: lack of endgame content for SP such as more animals, enemys, NPCs, secrets & puzzles(for example as we've saw bunch of quest challenges, puzzles & secrets in Delta Force PVP extraction mode), b'coz for now its just like: as soon as you getting your 1st car running & raided bunker game becoming uncomparably easier and much less intriguing since there are not much things left to do in SP. Like for example Conan Exiles have bunch of thralls to capture & decent architecture to build or bosses to hunt. I mean what SCUM can offer in this case for PVE besides survival, car & bunker? 2nd: In 0.85 with basic settings we had console command to regulate spawn points along with default static puppet spawns always at same spots, roaming at exteriors & sleeping inside interiors. Even if in due time it became less interesting, still you were playing more strategic clearing area thoughtfully. Now in 0.96 we have puppets inside interiors walking, sometimes agro and shouting when you pass by the house or getting close to it which already making problematic to enter buildings knowing puppet is alive, agro already triggered, keeps shouting & standing right behind the door. And if you cleared a certain area of puppets or just walking through it you getting puppets randomly spawn behind you out of nowhere on that spot, which is NOT cool. Devs said flag prevents puppets to spawn inside it's zone which I believe should be like that in perfect situation, but in reality even with having spawn override option off I still have puppets spawning right next to flag behind the wall. Also this horde mode while being rly cool when it triggered in city street and a lot of puppets coming at player from every corner, this giving me complete nuts sometimes. Those moments are pretty damn cool. While everything else about this "horde mode" thing including any area which is not city street, is just a mess & totally not immersive & not enjoyable. So I ended up cranking down to 0.25 all spawn encounters from it's default values sadly making world much more empty but at least less annoying. I would rly prefer to have it as it was in 0.85 instead, where spawns were more static & thoughtful or I had access to console command to set them up manually. We need better and more thoughtful enemy spawn system. 3rd: fix colliders & physics. Thing like the railroads, to not make player to jump over it to pass when player is on foot, on car, on bike & etc. Even puppets sometimes got to jump over rails to get to player. I know there are not a lot of railroads on the map, but when they are on the way it's collider mesh is just bad and can be very annoying. Same as road fences, when you barely touching em driving car it making car crush-stop into it instead of slide-scratch. It also making carjacks to disappear after car maintenance ends, or making active objects like vehicles not interactable. Sometimes Air Drop drops on some random town building ignoring existence of building itself & just falling through building mesh to 1st floor keeping building walls on places and becoming partially of fully inaccessable(happened for me yesterday(Feb.04.2025).
my thoughts exactly, I know Conan Exiles has been out a lot longer, but they really nailed down how to keep players interested with lots to do PVE, many varied dungeons, with legendary loot, and bosses. I feel that this game needs more than just the bunkers for endgame, as they all feel the same and once you've been in one of them, whats the point of checking out the others. This game desperately needs verity, In CE all the dungeons are so different, you'd never think they feel the same.
They still need to fix the slanted roof. We use to be able to make corner roofs with two slants, the roof after built would merge together. Now you can only build one and the other turns red. Leaving us with flat roofs.

Thanks for the video. I think we need a "sort" funtion in our inventory add in scum, plus a keybind like CTRL to move items and not only dragging one by one.

One thing that is a real immersion breaker for me, is the FOV. Mainly the bodyscale in first person.
Looking down at your body, it is scaled up and looks floaty.
Its noting big, but just a small detail that causes me to not play in first person.
Cant wait for them dark interiors tho! Oh and modding!!! :D

I thought it was changed but I was laying down still in a bush that had an opening at the bottom where I’m clearly visible, wearing orange clothes and the dude did not see me. I think it may still be there. Finishing taller grass or better foliage seems better than not rendering a character

been waiting almost 8 years i sure hope they step up the pace at this rate i will be an old man by the time this game figures out there shit! My belief is they need to scratch the entire thought of a static map and make it procedural and random with more wipes like rust has and it will keep the game fresh forever also they need to figure out the building system nobody should have to rp for a week just to build a stupid shack that can be raided in seconds. Rust has a much better system for building/stability and raiding is just a joke compared to other games idk nothing seems like its worth your time on this game its just repeat over and over same map same stuff different day idk just my opinion.

I'm always down for some updates, one thing i could say is the lighting is the one thing that I really need, the global illumination is really off, like the whole map has the light on except for the trees or something. Good stuff!!
I think you need to play more games if you think scum is going to be "the open world game of our time"

Giving your lock combo to a friend and it disappears when they unlock it needs to be reworked as well. And open it for modders. This game will stand the test of time

There is so much placed on details and so little placed on real gameplay loop, i don't think they have a direction.
I do agree the game needs so much and when it takes so long i have zero faith in these guys.

I bought the game 2 weeks before the puppet spawn changes and I loved the game, however the game gets worse and worse imo.

I can wait for the Devs to open up the game to the public to mod. The public will just do wonders in moding the game ant it will bring tons of people into the game. The servers could be custom to what you love if this was possible.

@ Devs will still be developing after 1.0 .. I'm not a dev so I only pass on what they tell us. In the mean time I play other games and wait patiently.
It may not be a brand new map per say but with the foliage rework it's turning out to look like a new map. I can't wait till they start implementing these updates.
Do you think they will ever extend the map beyond the current walls ? would be great to have the whole island to play with.

/I recently came back to scum after burning out and taking a year off. 2 days in and my biggest "gripe" if you will.. is jumping 3 times and being at 0 stamina.. i see why it was done to prevent habitual bunny hoppers.. but when first starting out and a horde gets called on you.. your pretty much toast.. cant outrun them and cant use rocks to jump over rocks and stuff to slow their progress for a tactical retreat anymore.
It’s more like 2 jumps and you’re out of breath. But of course it’s bc sooooo many ppl were thinking they were good at pvp just bunny hopping and sliding and whatever else they were doing.
They should make it so that yes indeed you can only jump twice, based on stamina and based on weight and constitution and level of endurance otherwise is just giving everyone a buff so that they can’t bunny hop. A healthy character should be able to jump at least 5 to 10 time’s easily specially if they are carrying nothing. An obese character shouldn’t be able to jump more than twice, that makes sense.
The game is great, BUT I do NOT recomend it for players who just want to play with friends. You buy the game and then you MUST rent a server for you and your buddies.... NOT fair
Are they releasing binaries for own hosted dedicated servers as they promised with 1.0?

I really hope so. Being able to host a small local server for a few folks like I do with Palworld/Day of Dragons would be lovely. Costs add up when you're forced to pay for hosting.

Any word on Lan hosting a game option coming with 1.0? My brother and I live together and are tired of having to play either on other peoples servers, or pay to host our own from a hosting service when we should just be able to play a 2 player game Lan like games 2 decades ago could do.

I think they should dial back on the glare, one doesn't get sun glare in 320 degrees. also find the backpack making much more noise while running, never had one as loud as the in-game ones. lastly, what is going on with the puppets? they're now popping out from bushes again, now some are long range super sprinters- had numerous puppets running from out of nowhere a mile away.

2:25 I have so many friends that would play if they looked into this. Because of the spawn system all my buds say the game just feels like rust with a million extra steps and interface complications. Squad spawn back in the day was an absolute nightmare though.
Can we please get more objects for base building? It’s been the same handful of items since I started playing in 2018
working map screen in vehicles and could implement map into mobile phone to mount on motorcycle or dirkbike vehicles with out screens , ranger has a screen inside it perfect for this . wash your clothes in the rain and slow down the dirtyness of clothing cause its way to fast . folding floor squares so u can make bridges over water but open them for watercraft . we need a better boat the little boat we have is horrible slow and the turning radius is horrible deff not realistic , boats turn very quickly and on a dime and items fall thru the boat . why is there no silencer for the Deagle 50 . the atv drives like a sled , waterplane and or helicopters would be cool . more clothing and weapon items .
Gps location would be cool while riding to see map. Mini-maps would be interesting. Some great ideas!

When console versions?!?!?! I hear V.1.00, but when is it coming out? Literally NOBODY (I have seen 😅) has an actual date or time frame.
Most of the assets are duplicates , houses, kitchens, cupboards, all copy paste, given the level of detail devs are doing ı d expect much more versions of all architectural models. Every town you visit should be different in every way, giving player a fresh option for exploration, different loot and enemy types. Not much to do for single player still, loot , collect continue same cycle, hunting minigame killed natural immersion where u could just encounter , follow and hunt as you liked, puppets are a bit boring same faces and models, no human enemy npcs, focus is always for multiplayer, need some love for single player games and an invitation based coop with a friend or two without having to play on servers. Graphic revisions can wait and ımo that should be the last on the menu. Visuals are good as it is.

So getting to 1.0 will not take it out of EA and make it a 'full release'? Rather deceptive and confusing. 1.0 should mean "Here it is, all the promised features are in it now (maybe not all tuned yet, but in there), and it's ready to rock and sell for full release price." Calling a still-EA version '1.0' is just plain stupid.
I don't think they mean it that way. Look at games like State of Decay, Sea of Thieves, DayZ. All these games are released and constantly being worked on. There are patch numbers beyond 1.0 you know. Bug fixes, content added, game modes added, etc...
v1.0 is a release, not an EA. A release doesn't necessarily mean EOD though, you should know that as you're obviously using software that has various version numbers.
The Fun Pimps also tried that and got absolutely cooked by the playerbase. 1.0 absolutely needs to hit the nail in one swing or the game's screwed.
Imagine content creators ripping that thing apart apart if it still would be the mess it is now.

Not being able to use your left hand to carry a toolbox or gas canister while having your dominant hand for a gun doesn't make a whole lot of sense. In a vehicle is the only time you see your character make full use of their limbs. Bc you can steer and have a gun in your right hand.

is it my issue or game issue that sound design is like u can not hear if someone is above or below u? to the left and right its all fine. but up and down is not different. so if someone is above you walking you hear him right next to u.
