Almost 5k hrs in and been playing since day one and didn't know you could search rocks at multiple angles 😂. Good video passed it along to a friend who started playing.
Glad you learned something, I'm happy even if each person only learns one tip from it. It took lots of time and energy and I'm glad it was well received.
Having over 4K hours in the game, i gotta say: Your video is so much better than 90% of all these "quick tricks for beginners" or "100 tipps to get started" that other SCUM-tubers make. Not only is it short and to the point, but it actually points out things that not as obvious or intuitive as most things are in scum. Most of the other videos are full of "If you need rocks, you can look at rocks and press F" type of advice. You know, the type people only need if the CANT READ WHATS ON THE SCREEN. Your tips starting with "hey, btw, you can search the same spot over and over, just use a different angle" was really refreshing. Because that is an ACTUAL tip of something that the game doesnt tell you. Much appreciated, man.
Thank you so much, @random.3665, for your incredibly kind words! I'm thrilled to hear that you found the video valuable and that it stands out among the vast sea of SCUM content out there. Your feedback really means a lot, especially with your extensive 4K hours of experience in the game. It's fantastic to know that the tips I shared resonated with you, especially the less obvious ones that can genuinely enhance the gameplay experience. I completely understand what you mean about those "quick tricks for beginners" videos that sometimes cover the same tips as everyone else. It's all about offering insights that go beyond the surface level, and I'm glad you found value in the tips, like the angle variation for searching spots. Your support and feedback motivate me to continue creating content that truly helps the SCUM community. If you ever have more insights or questions to share, feel free to drop them anytime. Happy surviving and gaming on! 🎮🔥
26:37 lost 4 cars because of this small shity river in this week. I hate when your character automaticaly gets out of the car after driving in water, I almost managed to save my vehicle.
Another nice vid, thanks! To add a few things: WW2 bunkers have low quality weps that are perfect for farming weapon components via disassembly. Now (in 0.90) if your Holster slots and Inventory slots are full when climbing a ladder, it wont drop the item on the ground (although this still happens when getting into cars). The battery cables can be cut into 2 - 10/10 blue wires that can be used in crafting the 35# bow and improvised fishing setup. I have never seen a 10/10 blue wire spawn in game, so trader may be the only other way to get them besides cutting the cables. If you have the FP and cash, you can buy 20 coffees and a 20/20 soft drink bottle, empty the bottle and then carry 20 cups of coffee in 1 bottle. The hospital on eastern side of the map is perfect for finding cookbooks. On slightly less loot server (0.8) i found 4 books and one duplicate in the 3 buildings south of main hospital.
Yes, lots has changed since 0.85. For sure, I didn't find enough to do an entirely new video, but I am making changes and noting it for next video which will be 0.95 and correct all the outdated information and incorporate all new info as well. Thanks for the comment.
so while going through the usuall fresh spawn crafting (knife->cut bush->make axe->make backpack->make spear->make bow->make arrows) i got (and i'm still mad af about it) killed by a goat, that spawned right beside me on a hill. damn thing hit me so hard i was at 51% overall health and a broken leg, after a bit it came back to finish me off. Having a broken leg, or even just a limp at the start is kinda a death sentence ^^
One tip I found out about recently, While Driving, pressing "Alt" key, centers the camera on your vehicle/screen and you dont have to move it around with your mouse. Cool little trick when playing SP not worried about your surroundings, but I like to explore and sight see, so always switching back and forth! 👍🏼 Great job sir, your another motivation to this game and what I want to do in the near future!
Yeah, screen locking is useful. I did go over that with panning camera in first and 3rd person. But did not cover what it does in the vehicle. Thanks for the comment.

A lot of people also don’t realize that you can carry 2 backpacks, one on your back and one in your hands. Comes in really handy with the hiker backpacks allowing you to almost double the amount of loot you can carry.
Good point, it's always the basic things we overlook after playing the game for a long time. I'll be re-creating this video for 0.95 tips and tricks soon!
Very comprehensive on point video, have been playing for years. yet some tips like Shift+F and leveling strength attribute are the ones I forgot/omitted. A super massive tip you've mentioned with throwing stones to lure puppets, extremely useful on Hardcore servers where you have higher puppet spawn rate combined with explosive puppets can help to clear those point of interest with few well-placed shots.
Yeah, trial and error is a good way to learn. It imprints on you, and you're less likely to forget it. This option is quicker but most likely will forget things quicker.
Great video my dude and awesome tips. 🙂 Now how about one explaining all the hidden and not known key bindings? There's so many, I'm sure new players would find it very useful. 😉
Nice tips. I got one. If you start with no points in survival, you can get basic survival fairly quickly by cutting up puppet clothes for 50 points each, them make rag strips for 50 points each and then use 5 rag strips to make rope for 50 points each. At least basic survival gets you a North marker and some crafting items. A metal knife can then be crafted.
Yeah, that's a good one. But now you only get one piece of clothing from puppets and normally boots are dropped which makes this route more difficult. Thanks for the comment and the tip.
Survival is a very easy skill to grind, if you cut done even just a single tree, chop up the branches, chop the long sticks into short ones, and turn them all into arrows. lots of points^^. and if you are really bored, turn the logs into plancks, and those into wooden clubs.
Yeah.... Now that's a tricky one, damages on players are usually not noticable enough to want to have a whole list of damage per bullet, you either use a sniper rifle or an assault rifle, it matters more where you shoot then the gun you use. Thanks for watching the video.
i think they've recently removed the searching of rocks from multiple angles. Also, you can use a toolbox as grinding stone to repair your blades, you need to be near a workbench, or drill press
Vomit helps if you ate poison mushrooms if you do it immediately. Otherwise vomitting is only needed to not let your stomach burst - and it's gonna burst if you eat more than 115%. You do not need to look at your macros, there are no effects in the game if you do not eat your vitamins, etc. There is a small bonus to your stamina if you eat enough protein, but that's it. You are wrong about food in your hotbar. If the food has uses, it only uses 1 if you press the button for it as well as with liquids. If you do not have a grinding stone, you can repair your melee items at the workbench, which will lose some points that you can easily repair with toolboxes. Intelligence is the only stat you can't increase via playing, so it makes sense to always max this out for the start. Dexterity levels very fast, you just need to stay below 100% energy reserve, which yes also means that fat characters can't have dexterity. (Scum is fatshaming ;-)) The fruit vegetable trick is just a bug now. Most of the food descriptions are bugged right now too. Many are saying they contain a lot of water until you eat them, then suddenly they do not contain water at all. It's also lazyness that some items show different values if they are cut into pieces (like watermelons, etc.). Third person does not work on other players. You will only see another player in third person if he is in your first person line of sight. Scum is technologically advanced compared to all other 3rd person games. You will see Sentries and Puppets in 3rd person without limit, but not other players. This fixes the issue of third person players camping around corners and always have the advantage over pushing players. 90% of players do not know this.
The video it's talking about food with only one use, and it uses an entire use even after just cancelling, since most food people use is MRE's I did not think this would be confusing. I'll try reword it better for next time. I didn't want to go into stats in this video, as so many videos covered that. Third person is a good idea to mention, you only see floating objects if they're out of LOS on FP, I'll have to remember to add this to another video, as 3rd person in my opinion plays at a disadvantage in most situations, but has it's place in grassy areas I find.
Really nice work on this. It's a shame it needs a few updates since 0.9 is out. I got a few good tips out of it and I'm over 1200 hrs. You mentioned the seeds end up being at 100% but it should be added that this is a great way to get something out of nearly or spoiled fruit and veggies too. Seeds also seem to take a long time to digest so if you can pack some in they can keep your tummy satiated for a long time I've found.

That did take a long time. Hence, I sound different in the clips. They were recorded over the span of a week. Some I did late nights after work so I sounded pretty tired haha.
You should have mention, that you cant level skills if its below 3 (str for example) Also you cant have certain skill as medium or advanced if your base atribute is below certain level (for example you need atleast 2 strengh if you want to utilise medium rifle). Also there is certain skills that is pretty must to take. For example, if you wont take atleast medium engineering you wont be able to have good base. To sum up, your character stats is really important, missing that can lead to character remake.
