@DrDave322 Dimarzio Tone Zone. The amp is a Divided by 13 BTR 23 with a Divided by 13 Lift pedal in front of it for just a little boost. The tone is pretty much what the amp sounds like.
Great teaching! I love to rewatch lessons of songs I tried to learn a year ago but failed every time, because now, after I have forgot about this lesson, Im trying it again and master it at the first time. I think I have made a progress :) Thanks for easy lessons, keep iit going! :)
Don't always work on the lesson when Papa Stache is in the house. But got to go through the whole video for sheer entertainment value. The guy cracks me up.
please please please do a video on one vision id really like that uve helped me sooo much on guitar i was new to the guitar a month ago and i watched one video by u and it all made sense thank u soo much for everything and ill hopefully learn more from u in the future :)
Marty!! i appreciate everything you've put together on your youtube channels. Im 14 years old and everything i have learned about guitar was from you. We would love if you could teach some motorhead!!! Thanks.
Dear Mr Stache, how do you get that great tone? what pick up is that in the bridge position and are you going straight into that divided by 13 amp or is there a pedal. have been admiring your tone for some time.
Sounds great! I have a problem with extra distortion during this song... it's either not enough and sounds clean, or too much and sounds too heavy. I'm workin' with a an Ibanez RG series, and a line 6 Amp - nothin special. Any reply will help!
How important is the fingering for this in terms of development for the future? In the intro I struggle to play it with my first finger and my index (it's very uncomfortable and quite a pain) however it's relatively easy with using my first and pinky , is it worth trying to learn in with the index?
I think its actually necesary to show us how he plays it so we can have an idea of how we are going to lear the song, like i have seen other tutorials where they play it at the beginning and i don't like how it sounds
Papa Fuckin' Stache in the house!! Both of you assholes have taught me alot over the last 6 years. Love you guys. I already know this tune I just clicked for fun!
The way it's done properly in the song, I think, is to hit the first two notes on the A string palm muted, then hit both strings on the power chord as the final note, not palm muted, in each gallop. That's more difficult to get the right rhythm. I quite like the sound of just muting the notes with the left hand for the first two notes then playing the chord normally for the third, it's easier and still sounds pretty good. That's more of a punk technique, but all 3 work, it's what's best for you.
Hey Marty could you also post up the solo for this song? I've been trying to find good videos on this , but I can't seem to find videos as good as the ones that you post up.
hey marty i really like your guitar lessons :) just wanna say it once but i have a question ... could you pls do a tutorial on how to play having a blast by green day? would be very nice of you :D
Well..Thanks Marty. I just learned this in 2 hours on my acoustic guitar. I know it doesen't sound the way it sounds on electric guitar but is a good thing that I know how to play it . :)
Does he hammer on, after the riff, when he hits 5,5 then 7. Then the intro riff repeats. Or does he hit 7 again. He hit it twice but when he was doing it fast he didn't do it
What set up have you guys got to get the crunch? Im pretty fresh to this and just got an Ibanez RG321 and a Marshal B65 Bass amp so Im making do. Nothing I do seems to be able to catch a crunch or distortion. Guess I need a distortion pedal? @GuitarJamz
Mr. Stache is slightly better suited to doing advanced lessons like this. Not that Marty is bad at it, but he takes it a little slower and I usually pick up on a section well before he moves on to the next section. Just a tip Marty, the harder lessons can be slightly faster paced! Much Love, - Crete.
Just do it slow and you will speed up as you get more confident at it. I seriously started playing this last night for first time and couldnt do the trill bit at any speed as my fingers are totally spastic. Have done it like a million times now and have built up speed to same as the track. Like everything geetar, practice, practice, practice. You will get there dude, patience.
Together, they have one full beard
😂
You must buy all add-ons to unlock the full beard
😂

+martyzsongs Do you play this song with standard E tuning?
+Chronos ye
+Chronos yes
DocB4D but it is easy if you've had enough experience with guitar
I honestly thought this song would be way harder than it was cause it sounds really technical
All Kinds hodge twin plays guitar ? I; lmao
S⃣a⃣m⃣e⃣m⃣y⃣d⃣u⃣d⃣e⃣

@kellyjjennings9090 It is a Bill Nash 60's Strat about $1600

Who's doing this on an old acoustic guitar?
Xbendoesbricks me lol
Xbendoesbricks right here
Xbendoesbricks yup haha
Me xD Its way hardest then electric guitar.. i mean the intro on acoustic is harder
Not sure about "old," but I'm playing on an acoustic. Hopefully I'll remedy that soon.

I'm pretty sure there's no hammer on at the beggining, just play the E note straight away.
I thought that but think its neglegable either way. All depends on if your the "how they play it" type.... Which annoyingly, I am lol
Not even him plays with a hammer run on every run. Usually, the first run is with hammer-on and the rest are without it.
The ultimate guitar duo on RUclips - Marty and Brett!
Dude, thanks for teaching me how to ROCK!!!!! merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, from not so sunny England.
You two need more colabs. Love you guys

LOL
I think its actually necesary to show us how he plays it so we can have an idea of how we are going to lear the song, like i have seen other tutorials where they play it at the beginning and i don't like how it sounds

Is it common for "metal-ers" to gallop with both strings on the power chord, or is it safe to just use the one string?
I learned 4 things from this lesson
1) The Scan
2) Pull down on the thunder
3) How to shoot love lightning
