I find nothing disturbing. Many of these works were so awful, that no one thought they were worth preserving, so they were democratically burnt by the fires of time so no one needed to read them.

Socialism in the German tradition meant unifying the classes under the banner of the nation/folk.
They provided welfare to those who needed it, gave money to families etc.
It was never about turning the classes against each other, it was making them work together for the betterment of all in the society.
Socialism =/= Marxism when talking about late 19th/early 20th century. Simply read into German socialism and look at the policies that the National Socialists had.
Think of the Roman Empire or a European kingdom you don't label them capitalist or socialist because they had a completely different concept of how economics worked. The Economy was subservient to the will of the state, it wasn't the main focus. If a business did something that undermined the state's authority or tried to subvert the state it was dealt with accordingly.
People still had private property, there was what you could call free enterprise. However bread and circuses existed, the central authority built public works.
There's also the fact that Marxism is internationalist, promotes the destruction of culture and is completely materialistic in it's outlook.
The National Socialists were the complete opposite.
If Communism is Anti-Fascist, then Fascism is Anti-Communist.
They are polar opposites.
The nazis were pro capitalist, they banned labor unions, diminished workers power in the workplaces and worked closely with the biggest capitalists during the war time period, IBM even sold em machines for the concentration camps.
