I've been wearing headscarves for almost 15 years and this is the BEST video I've seen on how to make the scarf stay on! While I was familiar with the different techniques before, this one really talks about the pro's/con's of each and is definitely helpful. Thank you :-)
I had a hairdresser ruin my hair and had to get all my hair shaved off. I only cried a little because I’ve had short hair before. However, it’s different when it’s not your choice. My long curly locs were gone and so I needed to start over and regrow. However, protecting my hair at night has been a nightmare because I can’t sleep with anything covering my ears and my head is (as my husband and I joke about) small like a peanut 😂 This video gave me insight into that velvet inner headband and I instantly knew I had finally found a place to truly learn! Thank you SO very much!!! You have an instant sub and I can’t wait to binge watch all of your content. Lots of love to you and the community you have here 🥰❤️❤️❤️
Hi, thank you so much for this tutorial. I have alopecia totalis and I lost all my hair on my head one year ago because of it. Now I have been bald for more then one year. Sadly my hair never came back, I'm still bald but since I lost it, I began to try out headwraps, headscarfs and turbans. And I have developed such a deep love for them during that past year❤️😍, I love them even more than wigs. All my friends tell me that they suit me a lot and that they look good on me. But sometimes I have this problem when I'm wearing them for many hours they start to slip, which is very unpleasant and even a little bit embarrassing because then people start to see my bald head....😅 and I never go out bald in public. So I have to go to the bathroom, put it off and then put it on my head again, which takes a lot of time😅. But then I saw your video, tried your secrets and now I don't have this problem anymore!😊
Oh, thank you so much for your comment! Have you seen this channel?ruclips.net/channel/UCbrOKIuYs4VG66VL45FGsFQ Anna has a lot of great tutorials for headscarves. She is Russian speaking, but I think her videos are easy to follow anyway.
@@howtotieascarf7840 Я тоже говорю по русски. Я не знала, что вы также говорите по русски. Я родом из Германии, но мои родители родом из России. У меня болезнь алопеция, знаете ли вы о ней? Hello I have had alopecia universalis for just over 21 years. So I really know what you mean. I like to wear scarves as well as I've only worn a wig on a few occasions. I do hate them! 😝 I typically wear a cotton bandana and a hat over top. Mostly Cadet style or ball cap style. I've gotten quite a few fancy ones over the years. I have finally progressed to just bandanas. As having a brim over my eyes all the time wearing hats outside of the house, I feel really exposed now. But I am in the midst of getting a head tattoo! I will go outside one day without anything but that... eeeeek!! 😀 I wish you well on your alopecia journey ❤️
Thank you for the video. I have alopecia and thus I have no hair on my head for 4 years now. It's been a long journey for me. Most of the time I was hiding my scalp under wigs but now, since last year I have decided to wear headscarfes and turbans just because they are so much more comfortable and easier to wear then wigs😅 Your video really helped me!❤
Thank you! I have tried different styles, using my crocheted triangle head scarves and the long rectangular scarves I bought.are cotton, with yhe bought ones being bamboo cotton. My under caps. Some are cotton and some are polyester. It doesn't matter if I use an undrr cap or not.. It doesn't matter if I tire, pin it, or what I do. The one thing uou should here thstcI know I haven't tried yet, is a velvet tie band. Maybe I'll find one next time I go clothes shopping. If I do, I'll try it.
You are an interesting person. I like your style of presentation. Your knowledge of fabric is excellent. I agree with what you said about crepe de chine silk. It is not only good for covering your head, it is also so beautiful and expensive. And it is difficult to get, I think.
Thank you thank you thank you for doing this video! It was very interesting and I'm definitely going to try all of those tips. You are very lovely to watch and very helpful in your videos 🤩🤩
What do you call the one that underneat the slippery scarf ? The brown one ? Thank you. Im using that kind of scarf and i dont know what to do because its always slipping
Have you tried to an under scarf hat or something similar? I found trying to sleep with anything on that tied was uncomfortable for me to sleep in. Perhaps if you're a side sleeper or don't move around much you wouldn't notice

My hair is so slippery I wouldn't be qble to get the underhat or headband to stay in place. Very few clips actually stay where I put them. Spin pins do. Little spiral hairpins that go in and come out without damaging hair. I can sleep in them, too. Got my grand neices a good assortment and their mom's face lit up. She knew they wouldn't make Addie cry!
I have my mother's WWII US Navy scarf. It's huge and in pristine condition. I've never worn it because I can't get it to stay on my head. Even tried to turban it and it pops right off. Even the cotton bandanas pop off before too long.

A velvet headband with elastic to adjust the length. Ahh ha! I can make that!
Absolutely! :)
I like the bobby-pins because you can buy decorative ones.
I'm planning to.go.blad will the silk scarf with head cover under stay
What size scarves are you using???
I want a tail to show that I can keep to the back or part it and have either side over shoulders towards front
This scarf is around 35'x35' ( 90x90cm) :)
You can also use clothes pins and pin accordingly.
Absolutely🙂!
A clothes pin would look tacky. Bobby pins are better.

I’ve recently gotten into wearing scarves, and one of the biggest problems I find is that the knot itself keeps slipping, but if I do a double knot it feels/looks to bulky. Do you have any advice on how to keep the knot more secure?
Thank you for the idea! I will think about it and make a tutorial.
I find that tying a tiny clear elastic band underneath the knot helps stop it from slipping 😄

Have you tried hairspray, or dry shampoo? They'll stop your hair from being quite so slippery.
First to see !! Yay me !!
Wow! Thank you! :)
What size is this scarf?
If you don't want all those pins showing, where a stocking cap or wig cap over your head. The silk will grip on the cap keeping it in place
