I was working in Southwest Kansas and the Mennonites had a community there with a deli. One of the only places to eat for 50 miles. We would stop and eat lunch there. Never understood a word they said except for one or two the rest spoke German. Some of the best Pies and desserts I had ever eaten. Very nice people. They made everything from scratch. The hamburger was from their raised cattle, the buns was from their grain they grew. Such a simple but complex life.

There is something to be said about being a Mennonite or Amish...they have a simpler life, no internet, no political bull shit.
