I think this depends how you measure success. These people are entrepreneurs who value money and earnings above most else. Their view of success is quite limited to a certain type of lifestyle that not everyone is aiming for. Success can also be measured by family, job satisfaction, hobbies, happiness, all sorts. I would hate to be an entrepreneur and am not driven by money. But I also love my job and work hard to move up in chosen carer (nursing) where I’m pretty driven. I agree with certain aspects of this video though about optimism etc and I think they have some really interesting points. I just dispute their narrow view of success and drive as it takes a lot of forms.
If you don't think us Brits are optimistic, fun fact, we buy more convertible cars than any other country in Europe, and you can't get more optimistic than that.
United States: Approximately 333 million people United Kingdom: Approximately 68 million people This explains a lot of why doesn't GB have as many as the US questions.
A British friend will introduce you with a joke if you are there; However, if you are NOT in the room they will spend 30 minutes listing everything they love about you.
So a few things: I live in wales and we do have flags but not as much. The whole comparison of university producing entrepreneurs: the thing is in the UK we choose a subject to study and that is the line of work we hope to be in. So we go to get a job not to become self employed. We also have lots more security, time off, etc in a job. So people don’t take the risk as much as a job offers a lot of safety. There are also people in jobs including myself who also have self employed income. I put mine in property rental, although not as good due to so many tax changes. I do however agree with enthusiasm and self belief part.
He described the UK as a very wealthy city (London) that's attached to a very poor country. I live in London, and he misrepresents it by saying that, as do many Northerners who believe the same. The fact is, there's literally millions of Londoners who are dirt poor. Not only are we paid the same minimum wage as everywhere else in the country, but also have to contend with sky-high accommodation costs, more expensive food and even a pint down the pub that's 30% more than anywhere else! The truth is "wealthy London" is limited to a very small percentage of Londoners who keep their wealth to themselves. I get sick to death of this stereotype that Londoners are all well off. I scrape along on a State Pension, and I'd be much "richer" anywhere else but London.
There are also alot of funny people all over UK?. I am in a very funny, friendly part of the country...& its in the South!!! Chill Spencer.....? 🌻🏴
It really is absurd. There's over 10 million people in London and the vast majority of us are not only no better off than the rest of the country, a lot of us are very much in the bottom 10%. Incredibly ignorant stereotyping.
What he says about entrepreneurs and universities. American universities pump out more because a huge percentage of Oxford and Cambridge students are actually born into money often aristocratic sometimes even royalty from other countries. If you removed all those students the ratio is actually similar.
Americans are optimists and don't self depricate , whilst Brits are pessimistic and deal with reality which keeps us down...Americans are fresh all the time and believe they can do anything...I love Americans , hate their politics but who doesn't...❤
3:04, this is only true for southern accents, primarily received pronunciation, as a man from Salford, my accent doesn't quite get me the same presumption of my intelligence
UK entrenepeur infrastructure is generally to support the existing rich n begrudgingly allows a few exceptions. But the plebs have more work rights etc only because of 2ndWW imo
No offence guys, if any country in the world was allowed to carry the trillions you owe in debt, they would also be the leading country in the world. USA has the banks, UK has a coupe too, and that is the difference of us vs. the world. US is never going to deal with invasions, Europe is always on the brink. Let's hope the world isn't bored of the

I’d say, if something happens in Britain then everyone comes together and have national pride, it’s just independently we don’t tend to show it.

These two 'English' fellas are clueless. Bald and bankrupt was correct to avoid appearing with this guy.
I wholeheartedly concur my countrymen. 😂. It's like they're not even True Englishmen.
Bald and bankrupt is sus
