Saddleback Celebrates Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month

For the past few weeks, Saddleback Church has recognized Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. This is a step toward following through with our commitment to pursue racial unity in our church family and throughout the community. But we aren't finished. We are determined to see all of our Black, White, Asian, Pacific Islander, Latino, and Indigenous community members connected and grounded in the love of God!
In the late 1970s, Congress passed a resolution to designate a period of time to celebrate the contributions of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders living in the United States. This diverse group of people includes those from the entire continent of Asia, as well as the Pacific Islands found within Micronesia, Melanesia, and Polynesia.
The month of May was chosen due in part to the anniversary of the completion of the transcontinental railroad, which was largely constructed by Chinese immigrants, as well as the anniversary of the first person to immigrate to the United States from Japan.
At Saddleback, our Asian American and Pacific Islander brothers and sisters have made tremendous contributions to our church family. We are a better church because of the way God has uniquely created them.

I want to be from the culture that asks if you have eaten 🤣🤣🤣🤣. I want to be adopted but truly there that is such a great way of knowing someone's well being.

Not a fan of Black Lives Matter. While I do believe that they matter the group and the organization is not good in what they stand for. I’m just wondering if all cultural our celebrated here because I have not seen a video on other race/cultures. That’s all. I’m in a mix race marriage and certain things I pay more attention to 😁
