What I damaged was a screen protector made of glass. I made this video to show people what can happen to their display and why this glass protector makes an awesome means of protection. No phones were damaged but preserved.

Folks she always uses fake phones for her demonstrations. The point she is trying to make is that the tempered glass screen protector will actually protect your screen rather than a normal one.

I bought one of these because of your video and after researching a couple other glass screen protectors. It was pretty awesome up till 2 days ago when i woke up to a hairline fracture in the screen protector. Literally the only thing that could have caused it was the cold dry air because i had my window open on the other side of the room. I thought it was just a scratch or a smudge at first but as soon as i touched it. The hair line crack grew out slowly across the entire screen. After having this issue i really don't trust this brand anymore. I even asked them if it could have just been a faulty screen that wasn't treated correctly, they indirectly responded back with a refund after i gave them the entire story and a picture of proof. I really like the idea of glass to protect your screen but it seems that they are what they are. glass, not durable. They do one job good it seems, but for constant use and flex, they just break down sooner or later. I just thought i would throw this out to anyone thinking of purchasing one. I had it for 2 months before it happened and it did look amazing up till then.
Now...... Where's my HAMMER?
Now, take the whole phone and that "protector" on it, and slam a sledgehammer on it with full force.. let's see what breaks first, the glass or the phone :P

I'd like to add my first hand anecdote. I ran my S3 over with a palette jack loaded with around 1 tonne of weight (electric jack + full cube of bottled water). It didn't even scratch the gorilla glass but it did break the LCD underneath it. Everything else in the phone still works just fine. It joined with an older LCD TV and VNC/Mobizen for control makes a nice smart TV.

Since the height of the phone is different(the phone vs the screen), more of the force distributed would spread onto the wooden board easier so if u had the real phone the phone would probably break.

its not a clone....she has a screen protector that's why it change the front view of the phone..and also the screen protector covered the Samsung name upper front view of the phone...that's why it looks like a fake s3 or clone

Guys she is using a screen protector, so she isn't actually scratching the actual surface of the phone screen. Check THE TITLE
there is usually empty space behind the glass in a phone so applying force to the top would cause the glass to stress and fracture, where as on a board there is less give for it to bend so IMO probably wouldn't break that easily.

to those of you saying this is fake, she has a red galaxy s3 with a white iloome screen protector. you can tell its real by the touch whiz widget for the weather and the lockscreen.
I had this same screen protector for my LG G2, and I don't know if I stash diamonds in my pockets but my screen protector was completely scratched up after a month. It faired no better than a plastic one.

That was a serious smack with the hammer. Regardless of the supporting structure below, the protector worked very well over the gorilla glass. The ScreenMate glass would have transmitted the impact to the gorilla glass as the 2 are in contact.

This is gorila glass. The gorrila glass 3 can be scratced but need to some brightness to see the low scratches.Gorrila glass 4 is fully unscratchable and used in Samsung Galaxy S6,S6edge,s7, and S7 edge
Honestly id love to see this redone with a live s3. BTW i already know how the various glass screen guards perform seen them die in the line of duty sacrificing their 25 dolor life to save your phone. But over all a decent demo of just how well they do work. Many of the brands are not actually tempered glass some of the ones i have seen that are turn to what looks like white sand when they break.

Sure it will help your screen but im pretty sure the digitizer is toast! You will have a nice screen but no picture!
I wonder if anyone realizes if you keep hitting the tablet or phone with a hammer, regardless of the glass you can damage the components inside the device if enough force is put in. So if your phone or tablet well frequently freezes or dies well that is why.
The hammer test was done incorrectly. The back board is absorbing the shock vs an actual S3 does not have that support below it. Gaps and such.

your assuming there's something akin to a flat cutting board behind the gorilla glass in our S3 but I don't think its resting on something as flat and solid. I think there will be some "give" and that the gorilla glass would break too. give it a try :)

The hammer test is skewed. The LCD substrate below will not have the resistance to the blunt force of the hammer as compared to the wooden block.
A fair test would be to have the screen protector applied on the phone and have the phone dropped from waist height or fling from waist height on tarmac (road surface) or concrete.
Survive that, and we are good to go.

Oh please, a Nokia 3310 comes with invincibility case. You have to make this thing "unbreakable" and even then it probably won't survive a gunshot. Nokia does.

it is mostly the table's rigidity that saved the lower screen protector.
Try to hammer the original Gorilla glass to prove that it was the protector who protected the it and not just the original class itself.

It's a little off since you didn't use the whole phone which gives the screen more room to bend and break especially with the internals pushing against it too.

SInce it's an AMOLED, not an LCD, the display will probably break even more easily.
