Thank you so much for this tutorial! I just replaced the radiator in my Lexus. Would not have had the courage to do it without this video. I pulled the radiator out without removing the two bolts on the very bottom. It can be done by just lifting up the AC condenser out of the way. You just pull the radiator out with the "basket". I struggled with the bolts for a while, then resorted to this way. Much easier! :)
Can you please tell me what tools I should prepare?
Also, when putting coolant, you can start your engine in Maintenance mode. This will allow hybrid to run engine continously without charging hybrid batteries. Proces is:
1. Turn ignition on. (Do not push brakes at this point)
2. Push gas pedal twice.
3. Move gear position to N (neutral)
4. Push gas pedal twice.
5. Move gear position to P (Parking)
6. Push gas pedal twice.
7. Finaly push brakes and start engine. Then engine will be in maintenance mode runing as long as you shut it down.

Thanks for the video, just finished this job on my 08 RX400h. I had to use a 12mm ratcheting wrench to get the two vertical bolts at the very bottom. Very difficult. I lost the two bolts into the hollow cross member once I pulled the radiator out, lol. There was no getting them out of there, so I reinstalled without the two bottom bolts. After everything else was installed the radiator feels very secure, attached to the condenser and fan. After all said and done I lost one 10mm socket, several plastic clips and when the job was over I had two 10mm bolts leftover lol. Good to go though, just drove for over an hour, no leaks, no overheating. Thanks for the help

Hi great video and details, thumbs up, I read on a forum that you can skip removing the 4 bottom vertical bolts by slightly moving the AC condenser to the front of the car to clear the cradles so the radiator can be lifted up with the 4 bolts and the cradles. From your space you saw while removing this, is it possible? Thanks again for the video.
@Lavender it's a timing belt. Should be replaced every 90k miles.
IMPORTANT.
One part of film show overcomplicated part and completely unnecessary.
First undo all screws before draining anything otherwise all drips on your head. At 23.08 sec of film you don't have to swear or pry it with piece of wood. Radiatir comes out with what this guy call cradle. All you do you unclip 2 front ones by lifting them just a bit and moving away from rad. Then radiator comes up with CRADLE.
Most cases you will not be able to unscrew radiator from cradle from underneath as most of those screws are rusty and suck. Once rad is out then remove CRADLE so much easier.
Done couple of them so its much easier to have rad out with cradle.
I think I agree. Always take everything out together if possible, and rework on the bench. Usually lift out clean and simple.

@@2carpros Great did it yesterday, took about 4 hours all in. One stuck bolt holding the fan assembly on, and one pipe clip causing issues, cut the tang off and all was fine. Did as suggested and left the bottom bolt until the rad was out. Thanks again.

Hi I like this. The comments help . I was concerned I'd get stuck at the bolt 12mm lower radiator bolts. . But i see there is the option to wiggle / slide the radiator with bottom cradle attached . Then undo later . Then opposite steps to re fit. Essentially pre fit it to the new Rad slide that down Then slide the condenser across back into the cradle and complete the fit. So now I need to Ask myself should I try and do it.

Great video...very helpful! I saved a little bit of work by not taking off the hood latch, just moved it aside with the wire harness for the fans. It worked out fine. Thanks for your help!;:)

There is a bleeder next to the battery if you open the bleeder is much easier I done a cambelt and water pump replacement today on my rx400 I bled it super easy using the bleeder, well done anyway keep the good work.

@@rainhanger , Yes he means! On the Top of radiator but i don't know if there is a bleeder on all after market radiator..

Trick to keep your car on :
Ignition without starting,don’t touche the break ,
Twice on the throttle, then neutral by pressing the small button , then twice on the throttle then P then twice on the throttle then start ! Your engine will stay on

If a rad hose needed to be replaced could it be done without disassembling the parts you touched in this video? If yes, does it make sense to replace them at the same time?
By any chance do you know the bulbs for each so I can go ahead and put in an order for new ones. I’m going to go led as well and change the color.
How do you pull out those fan assembly connectors? Seem to be extremely tight.

ummm the mystery tang you speak of is to lock the clips open when you open them it holds them open. when you put them back on you can just release it

Isn't there supposed to be a small hose attached to the overflow cap stem (@ 0:21) that prevents hot fluid from spilling all over the engine compartment?
Maybe there was at one point but this car didn't have one. Some do some don't. Or maybe it came with one and someone took it off somewhere in it's life. Thanks for watching!

I also recommend the factory brand denso radiator. I learned the hard way by going with a cheap ebay rad and the side burst within a few days. Ordered a denso one and haven't had any problems since. Wish I found this video on RUclips last year.
