What a great tutorial! I'd seen other horn how-to stuff online, but all of them wound up too bulky. These are light-weight and have a lot of potential for different shapes, colours, etc. Plus they are inexpensive to make. Totally perfect for my faun costume. Thanks so much for this!

If you're going use these for Homestuck, or cosplay in general, I recommend a way to unattach the horns and re-attach them through your wig. I thought of maybe magnets or fabric snaps. I know fabric snaps are what tumblr user yaexrae does for her horns, though. These are absolutely lovely for LARPing and such, though. :)

This is brilliant. I have tried making ram horns using mainly wire before, and they just got too heavy. I like the wrapped bag idea. And I like the hemp string idea! Thanks for posting this. I couldn't find lightweight twine so my horns turned out way too heavy. Also, I think my headband isn't tight enough on my head. The horns just tilt forward or backward and fall off. I'm going to have to rethink this whole project. And Krampusnacht is in 2 days! Yikes!
