    As a white conservative, who is usually on the side of the police, seeing things like this and reading the comments about it is starting to shift my opinion somewhat. Anyone who thinks this cop did the right thing is mentally handicapped.
    OUR police force is here to protect and serve the community. They have firearms to protect their lives or the lives of others who may be in danger. They receive training to know when they are allowed to use deadly force. For an American to say that a person who breaks the law deserves to be shot dead in the street, is mind boggling. That rationale is inviting a police state worse than any communist country has. That has no place in the US.
    In this situation the passenger did not grab the cop and drag him. The cop shot before he was even being dragged. The cop used deadly force at a completely inappropriate time. He has been indited for murder, as he should be.
    I hate the constant "race" card being pulled, but the comments by white people under videos like this are PROOF of the vitriol racism in the hearts of many Americans. Nothing else makes sense.

      Trust me when I tell you if your grandma was mobbed over like she didn't exist killing her while crossing the street in front of O'Shea as he was running from the Cop's.
      You would say the shoot was 100% justified.
      Remember the saying, " Don't do the crime if you can't do the time"?
      O'Shea made a very selfish poor decisions, it was his decision. He hurt his family, friends and the community. It's a shame, I truly feel for his family I'm sure they would have visited him in prison and put money on his books however that wasn't good enough for him.
      Not to sound cold-blooded but he had his opportunity to end his life in a high speed chase but he pulled over he was half way there to doing the right thing, he got cold feet. He screwed up and it's nobody else fault but his. It's wrong for his Mom and lawyer to push for officer to get fired, what's dose that say to the community....It's ok run make them catch you!

    The cop did not do the right thing, at all. The responsibility of the death of Mr. Terry does not rest only officer Tran though. Mr. Terry's actions lead to his untimely death as well. That should not be overlooked. Yes officer Tran should be held accountable for his actions and I do believe he will be but all people should realize when you disobey law enforcement you are putting yourself in a perilous situation that can result in one or more people being hurt or killed. I am not excusing officer Tran's actions, they were wrong but let us not overlook the entirety of this tragic incident. Please everyone, if you are given a lawful order from police, follow it. The best way to come out of that situation is just own up to what you have done and accept the consequences. He more than likely would have walked away with a ticket for simple possession but at least he would have walked away.

      @@kcassi1 perhaps you need to read up a tad on when a police officer is allowed to use his firearm? Shooting someone who is trying to leave a traffic stop is not "doing his job." If our cops were allowed to do that we would be living in a police state worse than any communist country has ever seen. That is simply not acceptable in our country. The cop will go to prison, as he should.
      I respect and appreciate law enforcement. I almost went to the Academy myself. None the less, they must be held to a high standard and do their jobs in an honorable way. This entire traffic stop should be used for training material. First of all, the woman was clearly being racist, mocking the way the guy talked, making fun of his name, etc. The "criminals" remained calm, respectful, and cooperative the entire time. Then they had enough and decided to drive off. That is not a capital offense. They did not "drag" the cop. He dragged his own stupid self, and he shot into the car before he was even being dragged.

    • @kcassi1
      @kcassi1 5 лет назад +1

      JD Yamaha I have read up on when officers are allowed to use their firearms and again I state, were they just suppose to let him drive off and induce a chase putting other innocent civilians at rest? Just tell me, what was suppose to happen here? Were they suppose to let him drive away fine. I agree that the lady cops ramblings were inappropriate, I think racist is a little pushing it but they were unnecessary. As for the cop that stopped the criminal from fleeing, he did his job.
      Now me saying this doesn’t mean I wanted that poor man to lose his life, and I feel for his mother, but HE could’ve avoided all of this by just complying.

    • @christcrucified6385
      @christcrucified6385 5 лет назад +1

      @@kcassi1 I agree somewhat and have no qualms with the fact that he could have avoided it. I do have a problem with the cop shooting him in this situation and so does the law. That is why the cop was indited. Yes, they were supposed to let him drive off. He was not doing anything that would give them any indication that he was a threat to others. They cannot guess what a person is going to do and act before they do it. The proper procedure would be to follow him, call backup, get him corralled somewhere, or put a nail strip down, or something similar. It could have turned into a high speed chase that would be dangerous to others, but they can never assume that it will and shoot so it doesn't.
      I despise the racist card but mocking the guys lack of proper pronunciation and then making fun of his name is definitely going to be considered extremely racist by any person who is not white. I am guilty of worse, and it took a long time for me to see that. I am not judging the lady, just saying what was happening. When she mocked his mispronunciation, even his voice got quieter. It was racist, demeaning, and condescending all at the same time. Cops, of all people, need to learn to respect people and treat them as equals.

You do realize the cop wasn't wearing a helmet and could have actually died when he fell from the car and rolled? That's why I said he did it to himself and it wasn't the cop's fault, the cop was in fear for his life. Also adressing what they said in this video, they acted like he was guilty because the grand jury gave the go ahead for trial. Grand juries don't hear from defense attorneys, they just say yea or nay if there's enough for the prosecutors to go to trial. Grand juries have nothing to do with guilt or innocence.

    The cop was doing their job. People don't realize that cops put their lives at risk everyday and your all ways gonna have those stupid people blaming the cops for everything. I will always stand by cops because of their line of work. Let these cops do their jobs. If these damn stupid people would do what they are told to do then shit like this wouldn't happen. I feel bad for the cop.

    Mentally ill and vengefull police man. That is absolutely no reason to shoot somebody!!!! I can not believe some of them do that! O'Shea was a nice person!!! They should have just let him leave the traffic stop and stopped him and his passenger safe!!! Their was no threat to the officers life. Bye O'Shea. You are in Jesus Christ care!!!

    How about bring you kid up right. The cop may be wrong but that kid of your was no angel either. To stay alive you stay out of trouble. Be fair and speak on you child’s wrong doing along side the officers. Just not totally one sided.

    Man did y’all see the first video of how the mother looked. She looks like money well put together batting her eyelashes. The first videos are a ordinary plain cheap wig slide back on her head now she looks like she bought some clothes and a “better” looking wig. I know that this has nothing to do with grief ..I’m just making an observation

      She has a right to look good. This video is from eight months after her son was killed. It is okay for her to be well-presented at court. She deserves it.

    No reason your son took off dragging an officer. Besides him not wanting to go to jail. Should have taught your son to make smarter choices in life

    Maybe he should have waited instead of taking off! That only tells me he had more to hide that he didn't want to get caught with. What happened to respect! I'm sorry he got shot but it was a choice he made!!

      Penny, you are SO ignorant. He made the choice to be shot, while fleeing? I feel sorry for you.

      You're a pretty dimwitted individual. "...he got shot but it was a choice he made". NO. He made a choice to flee. The COP made the choice to jump on the side step of the SUV, followed by shooting him. He was indicted for a reason. Grow a brain.
