All these have different spell speeds. Cards can miss timing if they are in the part of the chain. You have to pay attention to which collumn you play a card in due to cards like imperm. Some cards/effects can only be activated at certain times, like in main phase 1 or standby phase (like imperial order you pay in standby), you have cards that can skip certain phases like Solomon's lawbook that skips your standby phase. You have cards like Honest or Kalut that can only be activated in damage step if sent to graveyard so cards like macro cosmos takes them offline. There are mini steps like the damage step is inside the battle phase, there are like 5 parts to the damage step. You have monsters that are also spells, you have traps that are also monsters

I've never seen someone take a 5 minute turn in "Yu-Gi-Oh!" but I HAVE seen people take turns legitimately so long, half the table got up, went and got food, and came back and the turn wasn't over in MTG. It's definitely the most complex card game but it's also just as addicting as Pokémon or Yu-Gi-Oh (assuming you play and aren't JUST collecting cards).

There's not many crazy combos that eat up time, but honestly the simplicity of it definitely is a huge selling point to the game. Some people don't want to learn how to take five to ten minutes to do a single turn that decides the entire game and they just wanna have a slap back and forth. In comparison to Yu-Gi-Oh and such, Pokemon's also rather free in what kind of deck you can make. Similarly to MTG (from what I know), you just pick a type or two and you can pick any card within that type, whereas games like Modern Yu-Gi-Oh are very specific about which group within a group you use. Like if you wanna play Buster Blader in Yu-Gi-Oh, your entire deck must revolve around Buster Blader if you want it to do much. Unlike in Pokemon where if you want a Fire deck, you can pick practically any Fire type you like. So it really just boils down to what kind of card game you wanna play.
