    "As the creator of this reaction program I want to say a few words. Being a not so famous producer/manager working in the entertainment industry for almost two decades, I have seen a lot. There is a lot of hostility, a lot of under table deals, hidden agenda and a lot of injustice. So I understand people might be riled up as soon as they hear "negative" opinions about their idol. It's totally understandable. But to us, what makes an artist REAL is the journey. Nobody is perfect right from the start and even when they are ALREADY super famous, there still can be room for further growth. Idols are real people just like us, not the perfect "gods" packaged by media. We very much dispise the current environment on social media where people with different opinions have to be at war with each other and commentaries have to either serve the purpose of praising someone more than they deserve, or to destroy someone's reputation by completely overlooking all the talents and hard work. For that reason, opinions you get to watch here will always be mixed and this program will always stay controversial. We won't be bought to say anything good or bad for anyone and being on the other side of the earth we can remain unafraid of speaking the truth too. With that being said, I feel very fortunate to see most of the comments here are extremely civil, polite, and reasonable. We look forward to invite more professionals to share their honest opinions about the current state of C-Pop industry because as a Chinese Canadian, I'm proud of my roots and I honestly wish to make some positive changes to the C-Pop industry."

      @@newworld1622 Did you just remove your previous comment?
      To answer your question: The so called "diss track" you mentioned is also a type of honest reaction I do towards the industry and the people in it. I can tell you I'm a big fan of Leehom's music and I also sang more than one "diss track" about him. Personal life? maybe. but never would I diss him about his professional skills. I still went to Vegas to watch his comeback concert. You can call me snarky but I have no reason to be phony. And same goes towards huahua. Idols are just real people. You can like them for one thing and dislike them for another. One performance can be good and another one might suck. That's the type of attitude I endorse. Don't ever go blindly worship idols because then things get extreme and people start having unrealistic expectations.

      @@HelenkaJ To be fair. She's only got limited time to quickly come to the studio and react right on Spot. Pretty much in less than half an hour. Every editor in the company could have chosen a different set of songs for her to react to. Among ourselves we don't necessarily agree these are the best choice of songs.. I know people will have mixed feelings. And there will always be more opinions. Perhaps the day people finally starting to agree with each other will be the day AI takes over control. It might be sooner than we think. lol

      I found this little project of yours an interesting concept. React to the progress of an artist over a longer period of time. I dont believe you had alterior motives either. I try to avoid jumping to conclusions based solely on my own emotions or suspicions. . But, theres a big but. Your reactor lost credit. Not at all because she didnt like what she heard. We all have different preferences in music. Who cares. Shes free to like whatever she wants and state her opinions. But because her lack of understanding of what she heard made her diss the artist, labellling him with derogative words. Thats not acceptable, in my opinion, especially coming from a vocal coach who really should know better than to disrespect other artists. Very unprofessional behaviour. She lost credability as a teacher and as an artist. Respect must be earned, and im sorry to say she lost mine.

    • @ClubZeroMedia
      @ClubZeroMedia  Год назад +8

      @@CC-sr2ec Again everyone may be different in terms of opinion. I think she is quite professional and polite. And she is truly one of the most amazing vocalists in Canada. It was really quickly recorded and perhaps it is our fault for not giving her any pre-knowledge about the background and context of these songs. But yeah please give us suggestions on how to make things better. That will be a great discussion.

    • @CC-sr2ec
      @CC-sr2ec Год назад +5

      @CZ Media Thank you for responding. In my opinion this english song was one of the better ones. I dont care much for the rest. Though i do think HCY did the best he could do with what he was given. Not even the originals songs are to my liking. Im not into mainstream pop music, past or present. Singing english is not his forte either. I have no problems with what she said nor that she didnt like it much. HCY use his own singing technique which any vocal coach should spot right away. Most do. But they should also recognize that he obviously is classicly trained. And maybe get slightly curious about why he still choose to sing the way he does. The attitude she showed during Lyricless Song is a different matter. I had already thought about the question of pre-knowledge of background. Because she had no knowledge she gave an honest reaction. She showed a lack of understanding what music can be, but at least it was honest. If she had been shown the full, (translated or not) version of the audition including the interactions with the judges, I seriously doubt she would have been so careless with her dismissive labelling and judgements. Even the other 2 judges stopped rolling their eyes and shut their mouth quickly after Laure started talking. I assume you know the whole story. Knowing how things proceeded would have influenced her, im sure. I guess you could say you put her in a difficult situation by not doing so, but we got an honest response. Just not very flattering for her. I never heard of Rozette before so i also checked her up. Except for opera singers im not attracted to pure vocalists. The artist must offer more than a good voice. So cover versions of pop songs i dont like in the first place wasnt to my fancy. Im sorry to say i lost interest pretty soon. Nothing to raise my attention. As i said im somewhat particular about my kind of music, so for the record my opinion of Rozette as a singer says absolutely nada about her qualities.

      These aren't normal reactions as we know them, they are calculated and purpose-driven. Some people, who promote singers who can't make it on their own merits, can only help their singers by trying to bring down the singers at the top. Hua Hua is definitely one of those at the top. What these people don't realize is that Hua Hua will always have us. We're not going anywhere. Haters will always hate but they have to live with their own dark hearts. We're growing toward the sun! ❤❤❤

I work with men who are abusive. Bullying is part of that abusive strategy. I find it fascinating how some people will go out of their way to try to bully someone else, especially using the internet as a weapon. It speaks of a certain depravity that some people would push a person to the point of considering suicide but, not yet be satisfied. You see yourself how ants have shown up to a reaction to someone they don't even like, just to say hateful things. I wonder how people can be so dark.

    Hua Chenyu startet his career with this lyricless song. He said in the beginning because he don't know how to write lyrics he will sing this selfcomposed song in a martian language. The song is more about the feeling he wants to convey. Of lonliness and despair.Actually a bold move in a competition. 😁 2 of the judges didn't liked it. One judge fought for him and saw the genius. It turned out that she had been right. He is one of the most popular artists in China now. For a reason. And yes he improved a lot over the years. He was called the boy of Mars back then, which was meant as an insult. But he embraced it and made it his trademark. His fans are called martians and his concerts are called Mars concerts. He is really amazing. You will see it when you will watch more of his performances. Especially his newer stuff and Singer 2018 and 2020. 🤩

    You deserve credit for choosing to react to the earliest start of somebody’s career. I found Hua Chenyu in 2017 and his songs Qi Tian, I Dont Care and Ashes from Fireworks.. i got so overwhelmed and fascinated that i went back to the beginning and found his audition of this talent contest SuperBoy 2013. It blew me away… to be so bold, brave and so utterly disregarding all mainstream “rules” and “popular recipes” of what to do and not to do, especially in a competition. He just couldnt care less. Performing a composition venting all your locked up emotions.. in an audition… who does that. Mind blowing! Its liberating. Listening to what you have to say.. i guess you dont get it.. thats ok. Not everybody can understand. Yes, he’s often theatrical and emotional but always to convey the message… never to put up a show. You judged him prematurely and wrong there. He is a composer who sees the vocals as an instrument among all the other instruments. And he tunes his vocal cords to exactly express the sounds and emotions hes looking for. Hes not afraid of dissonance either. Today he is a complete artist, … composer, rearranger, performer and singer. Always mesmerizing. Allready at his first concert in 2014 he was taking some artistic control over his reportoir. Back in 2013 he was given a lot of english songs in genres that really didnt suit him well. As a vocal coach you should also know that singing in another language changes your voice and the way it sounds, all due to how sounds are articulated in the mouth cavity. Not sure if i worded that correctly. This is also true for Hua Chenyu, in my opinion he sounds so much better in chinese. Nothing to do with pronunciation though he hardly can speak any english at all. Still he improved a lot during the contest of 2013 and he has continued his growth as a composer and singer continuously since. Never lost the ability to surprise us either. I hope after part 2 of your Superboy presentation you will give him the honour to react to one if his recent works.

      I totally agree with what you said, Eli, only you said it much more eloquently. I also think the same regarding Hua Hua singing in English vs Chinese, I prefer him singing in Chinese, which seems to be much more natural for him and his emotional expression of the song is gorgeous. The song "For Forever", however, is an exception (his own composition). I love that song. I do hope she listens to his more recent works, to truly understand how brilliant he really is. :)

      Nothing is amiss with your own eloquence. I like For Forever too, its a great song. But he sounds slightly different just as when he sings traditionally techniqued bel canto. But then again hes able to pull out any voice he wants at any time. I dont really know anything at all about correct technique aso, but i find it interesting that he is so insisting about it. Joy in singing is fundamental after all.

    Reactors react however they do things. The reaction usually tells us more about the reactor than about the artist they're reacting to. Your instinct seems to be to react as a voice teacher. You are looking for flaws to correct because ordinarily that's your job. However, if you are on a fault-finding mission while observing someone else's work by request, you will only come across as negative and short-sighted. You will also alienate a segment of your audience. HuaHua has millions of fans from all around the world. It's unwise to alienate us. You'll get more views and more likes by considering why people would request this artist. What makes him special enough to be singled out and adored so intensely that his fans want YOU to take a look at him and publicize his existence. You don't have to like him, but taking a superior stance and complaining endlessly about what you perceive as flaws or mistakes will endear you to no one. Whether you can see it yet or not, this man is a musical genius. Music competitions are an unnatural environment where contestants may be required to do things they will never do again. They are, however, a realm where the contestants can become known. They are interviewed frequently, shown in a variety of circumstances so that the audience can get to know them as people as well as entertainers, and filmed (in the case of Superboy) 24/7, yep, even in the bathroom. Boy did we get to know these young men. The more we learned, the more HuaHua stood out as an exceptional human being and a once in a generation talent. I won't write his biography for you, nor will I try to persuade you to see him differently. I will simply tell you how it is for me. I'm 71 and have heard a phenomenal amount of music in my lifetime. There have been a few entertainers over the years who have touched my heart so profoundly that I felt dedicated to seeing and hearing them as much as humanly possible. I can get totally immersed until I feel I have a handle on what they do, how they do it, and why they do it. I have gone through this process with Barbra Streisand, Liza Minelli, Chris Isaak, Steve Perry and Michael Jackson. Never did I consider that I would be willing to sacrifice myself for any of those people. HuaHua is different. I'm positive I'm not alone in saying that I would, many people would, run into a burning building to get this man out. His existence feels essential to me, not to me personally, rather to the world. If you end up listening to some of his more recent work, you will understand why I say that the world needs him now. He's a deep thinker and a visionary. Having meditated daily since he was 15, he has faced a lot of monsters that most people would prefer stay locked in a closet, though we all know they don't willingly stay in the closet. The destruction of the environment and the fate of the human race are foremost in his mind these days. What he has to say about them is priceless. If you want to get a sense of his more current musical maturity, give a listen to The God Tree.

(The message was delivered personally by Coco Lee when she went back to China and filled in as a judge.) His performance style was pretty bizarre in those days, and I often wished he would look up. I never heard that he was supported by Lady Gaga, who is one of his idols, but I'm not surprised. She's unusual herself and would be able to appreciate his theatricality.

    I was totally cool with the reaction until she said "is this a China thing?" which wasn't okay. But I do wish it was explained to her that this was an talent scouting show, that the contestants on it are almost all amateurs, and has a history of finding unpolished, unconventional gems. One of the judges Laure Shang was one of the past champions the show before and is definitely not what Id consider a standard pop artist either, but she's fantastic and was the one who saw Hua Chenyu's potential when others didnt.
    But like the whole point of the show was to train up talent, they didn't arrive pros lol.
    That said, YES. People found Hua Chenyu and his performance bizarre. His audition song was the one that gave him and his fans the nickname "martians". The other judges weren't about to pass him, but Laure championed him. The Hua Chenyu at the end of the show wasn't the same Hua Chenyu at the end of it, and today he's grown to be one of the top selling artists in China. I do see that Rozette also reacted to performances from later in Hua Chenyu's career so I see what this series is trying to do, so I hope she sees what hes all about there.
