I was feeling blocked in my growth, it felt like something was missing in my art, but with this video I can already create a roadmap. Such great informations shared, thank you so much
I’m so sorry to hear you’re going through a tough time, but I’m really glad the videos are helping. Remember, every artist hits rough patches-it’s part of the journey. Keep going, and know that you’re not alone. You’ve got this!
I like how the higher you are in the level, the more it involves communication, articulation and critical thinking. Which are key concepts into learning, studying and problem solving. And as you learn, as you level up, you learn that the most valuable fundamental among everything is simply how you think, or what is your philosophy towards art, or maybe how you approach art.
The Wouter Tulp course changed my life, it made me confident as an artist. I don't think there's any better platform for studying online than Schoolism. I take every opportunity I can to recommend it to young artists

As a largely self-taught, through experience, Artist I didn't even realize that I have incorporated most of these into my practice and my work. I just do it the way that seems correct for me. Thanks for breaking it down and making it understandable and relevant.
I can apply levels 1 - 8, 13 and 14 (to a degree), 15, 16, 17 (I hope), and, of course, 19. 18 I'm working on. As for 9-12, I understand why they work, but am not at a point where I can actually apply them to my work. No way am I that good and I'll probably forever be amazed by how people can create art that looks that amazing. (Humorously, I find things like injecting emotion way easier than drawing a straight line. The irony.) This was interesting. Kinda wish a video like this had been available years and years ago when I was serious about getting into the animation industry. I hope that this video helps folks out. Thanks for sharing!
Wow, I love that you broke it down-sounds like you’re already hitting some solid levels! I’m so glad you found the video interesting! It’s never too late to keep leveling up. Thanks for watching, and keep pushing those boundaries (even the straight-line ones)!
@@chiu-on-this Thanks! I've been drawing on and off for a while, but my journey significantly slowed down some years ago. Any drawings I do these days are mainly dedicated to a children's book I'm working on. You're right, though. It's never too late. Ha-ha. Absolutely, and thank you! You're one of the best in the business and have always given solid advice, and you're one of my favorite artist RUclipsrs alongside Aaron Blaise, Stephen Silver, and Toniko Pantoja. 👍 (Was nice seeing you at Lightbox last year, by the way!)
The skills of art are a million dimensional surface. I'm probably better than Da Vinci at Blender, and worse than a French Neanderthal at blowing crushed berries through a tube.
I think you should show the difference between technical skill and Art. A person could be at the 19th level of technical skill and not being an Artist.
What I love about this is that it serves as a template for what order you could focus on skill building to improve as straight forward as possible.
Your videos are always a treat. Awesome that you're so close to hitting 100k subs on this channel!
I know!! so close!! I can feel it. :)

Sometimes all it takes is a clear roadmap to break through those blocks. I’m so glad the video helped! Keep going strong!
Thank you so much Bobby 🙏 I am going through a rough patch with making anything and watching your videos helps a lot I really appreciate you ♥

Thank you! I have only recently noticed changes in my art so this really piqued my interest to see where im at
Best video ever, for me good ideas is the most crucial thing, I work on my ideas almost everyday trying to improve them

Haha, level 20 thumbnail skills unlocked! Jean-Claude and I are basically the same person now... except I fight with a stylus. Glad you enjoyed it!
@@chiu-on-this Yesss 💪🏽🤣🔥
nineteen is a very specific number xD Nice breakdown 👍
Honestly, I just naturally hit 19 and thought, ‘Yep, this feels right.’ Sometimes art and lists have a way of telling you when to stop!
totally agree with all of these!!
super useful resource for anyone trying to gauge what to train next!
also lets gooo 100k is just around the corner!

I'm on top tier at edge control
That’s awesome! Mastering edge control is such a crucial skill-it really takes artwork to the next level.
