The CP88 pianos are much brighter. This obviously helps with cutting through a mix in a live situation. But as far as fidelity, I prefer this Shigeru concert grand sound. This is much more pleasing to my ears. Both keyboards are great. I still gig with my CP88. The Kawai MP11SE will be my permanent studio piano. The action and feel, combined with the sound of that Shigeru grand, is really something special.
@@paulallenMacca You never know with Yamaha. They keep things pretty close to the vest. It seems they’ve moved on since two new models have come out since the CP.
I will keep checking their website here in the UK,I just play at home to put an hour in about 3 nights a week,I’ve several John Lennon Professional Piano scores Old Dirt Road,Jealous Guy and Crippled Inside as well as others, your welcome to have a copy.
@@RonWarrenmusic57 No problem, just details! Keep on rocking! Would love to see you do some: Shawn Colvin, Suzanne Vega or specific songs like One Summer, End Of The Innocence.
@@RonWarrenmusic57 I cannot see any chord symbols on your tablet, but you go into each song without hesitation, and the chord changes sound great, and with a nice bass line. So I'm guessing you have a very good ear and also, maybe, commit the chord changes to each song to your memory . I'm sure you're busy, so feel free to ignore this. sounds great!
@@martinsullivan3363 I play by ear, and for the most part I play similar chord changes whenever I do the song, but sometimes I may change it up depending on how the music affects me. I don't need chord symbols except on maybe a Steely Dan tune, since they use more complicated chords. Thanks for your comments!
very impressive keyboard.....and the performer was great too!!
Hello Ron, that sounds fantastic. Waiting for more to come.

@@GaryRoberts-r1y Thanks
You sound great
I would love to hear you play 'Reminiscing' by The Little River Band. Or 'Cool Change' by them. Your voice would be perfect for it.
Thanks for the suggestion! Great songs. Look for it coming up.
I'm ready to cover Reminiscing. Hopefully I can post it today. Thanks again for the suggestion. A great song.

@@giovyanto6652 On my setups I modified the Shigeru grand by increasing the brilliance to +2. That's it.
Ok… Grazie… Complimenti sei molto bravo
Thanks for Sharing and all the best with your new stage piano, how does the Yamaha CP88 compare with it for the main Piano Sound.

Someone who both plays and can sing! Great work! Just a tad of dist there, maybe turn down both piano and mic a little bit.
Yeah I noticed that too. Thanks for reminding me.
