  • This is the first flight of a 3d printed Mustang for 3d Lab Print. I really like the yellow-tailed P-51D Mustangs with the D-Day invasion stripes. The decals were made on the Silhouette Cameo 5 using a layering technique for the roundels
It was printed on my Creality CR-10 V2 printer a while ago and I finally found time to glue it together. It uses a T-motor 1450kv brushless motor with a 9x4.5 2-blade propellor and a 2200mah Lipo battery.
The maiden flight or first flight went very well my good friend Martin did the launch and provided great commentary. It flew great and I was very pleased.
This wasn't the easiest model to print and I had several failures. It's quite an old design for 3d Lab Print.
Unfortunately, like many 3d printed planes, a bad launch a few weeks later was fatal.
I'm printing another on my Creality Ender 5 S1 with a 0.6mm nozzle using Cura 4.12. This is because the later version of Cura doesn't work well on these older designs. I ran several test prints and adjusted the settings; now the prints are okay.
Unfortunately, like many 3d printed planes, a bad launch a few weeks later was fatal but the new one is coming along and I'll have a new video showing its build and test flight

Hi Keith. Nice maiden. Great to see another vid from you. I still can't thank you enough for all the work you did on the CNC foam cutter
