Whar this video does not mention : 10 km across the dutch-german border the Rhine stlps being called the Rhine and splita into 3 rivers : the Waal, The Nederrijn/Lek and the IJssel . And when the major water stream the Waal reaches Rotterdam and the sea it is called the Nieuwe maas !
@@nico210 You obviously know nothing about the changing dynamics of a delta. After several floods in the 15th century the southern water tributaries became the major water course and the rivers IJssel and 'old Rhine' received less water. Before the nortern Hansa cities along the IJssel were important cities, after the ports in the Holland region gained importance. Just as Bruges was an important trade city, until the sea access lost depth , due to sand accretion ..
lol the entire video building up the beauty of the rine through switzerland france and Germany and then you end suddenly with it ends in the Netherlands with a thousand branches.
Largest tributary to the Rhine is the river Moezel (Moselle),and not the Main if you look to the cubic M3 per second (290m3 Moselle/225m3 Main) and the catchment area (35.000km2 Moselle/27.292km2 Main)

It is easy to see how a nation as small as the Netherlands became a major world power in the days of colonization and industrialization. All the goods heading up and down this economically essential river would have to be transferred between river barges and seafaring ships. A lot of wealth passed through that river delta. It still does today.
Thank you for a short clip that described many highlights in a few minutes. Succinct is best, I have abandoned _so many_ videos with verbose commentaries.
**Taiwan's Geography Map**: Taiwan, an island nation in East Asia, features a diverse geography. Its map reveals a dramatic contrast between its rugged, mountainous interior-dominated by the Central Mountain Range-and the flat, fertile plains along its western coast. This geography has shaped Taiwan's development, with most cities and population centers located on the west side, while the eastern region remains less developed but rich in natural beauty.
But the film shows from minute 1.55 to 1.59 the river moselle passing the city of Cochem with the "Reichsburg Cochem" the impirial castle on top of the mountain. That is not the river rhine.

The massive (by far the largest) amount of water for the River Nile originates from Ethiopia. Your map showing major rivers in the world shows the Nile starting only from Lake TANUK (Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya) not to say Lake Victoria. The map you showed is not only an awefully wrong illustration but also hugely misleading.
find your videos very interesting, but the background music is way too loud - almost the same as your voice. some music is quite intensiv and doesn’t match the content. please consider to adjust it, thx in advance
1:16 didn't know the French built a 50km long canal to help access the Swiss and their goods reaching international markets. did the Swiss help pay for it? 😄
I hike all the Rhine from Holland to Switzerland! There is a path along the river ❤❤ so beautiful
Yes it's a relief to go from that puddle with a few cities and a lot of farms to places with actual nature and nice weather.

Nice, but could have been a bit longer!
That’s what the Danube canal is for
That's what she said
The video or the river?
@@noodengr3three825 I would think the video. Too rushed.

Perfect length video, I'm about to go out and this was perfect while waiting for the significant other to get ready 😊
Lucky you, I watch Oppenheimer while waiting
The way you plan your trips is incredible; every detail seems so well thought out
Very interesting. Some sections of that river are absolutely beautiful.
true

Note that by length, the Main is indeed the largest tributary of the Rhine, but by discharge it's the Aare, by far.
Beautiful Scenery 😍
I really enjoy your videos, always very well explained. Keep up the good work friend 👍
Interesting point: when the Aare meets it in the Swiss canton of Aargau, the Aare is the bigger of the two rivers
That‘s correct. The river should be named aare instead of rhine.

Well the Aare River is the tributal with the biggest water flow
The tributary that has actually more water than the Rhine.
@MarkAZ001 Yes but flows at 90°. To be fair its only as big for a short distance,
Kindly look up "Rhineland Pogroms,8th century".
Good video although a mention of the Mosselle meeting the Rhine at Koblenz would have been great.
1:48: The Rhine-Main-Danube-Canal is drawn completely wrong

It's a plug-in for Adobe After Effects called GeoLayers 3
