If the writer's really did kill off Melendez, than some other writer/producer needs to write another sitcom where Nicholas Gonzalez and Antonia Thomas play married couple with children. I am even willing to settle for a mini-series or a one time Movie staring them two as love interest who actually end up together. I am tired of these series killing off incredible characters who do amazing job at playing their role.
Dick Wolf should bring the 2 of them as a couple in one of his projects. Then show Shore what exactly we wanted. Jesus! Can u believe Shore. He built them up for us to just wipe them away👎👎👎
Agree. Couldn’t have said it better myself. I’m a freelance writer and want to go to college for writing. I also want to be a producer. Maybe write a book. Kind of like Tyler Perry. Write a story and make it happen on screen. If I could, I would make a movie off this since Clair and Neil didn’t get their happy ending. I’m a fan of happy endings and I wouldn’t kill off the fan fav character for the sake of a good story line. Wish me luck guys. If I can actually make this happen, I will.
This is my opinion: they didn’t expect Claire and Melendez to have that much chemistry. They realized that lots of people were not watching it for the main character, Shaun. So they had to eliminate the most popular character to bring back some balance to the show. I still might watch it because of Claire but honestly those two actors were so interesting I was hooked. The writers baited us and left us with nothing. They tried to do that on OLTL, the show didn’t last long after they killed off a certain character. It’s a big gamble.
but come on, if they really wanted to draw the attention back to Shaun, they could have given him a proper storyline, not just continue to portray him as a guy only interested in sex and whatsoever.... after 3x18 ratings rose by 2 millions... thanks to Melendaire of course.... viewers aren't supposed to watch a show for the same reason, and showrunners can't force us to like Shaun/Lea... killing off a leading character and ruining a ship bc of this is just bad writing, cowardice and disrespect towards the actors and viewers
It’s been 3 days since I watched season 3. And I’m still not over Neil’s demise. It hurts me every day and night. He was a treasure to the team. And they just lost him because of a small earthquake while Lea survived with no injuries after being hit by the big thing!?!? This is unfair! Neil deserved more. Way more! #bringbackmelendez
I don't understand the thing with lea either. That she wasn't seriously hurt, but Neil Melendez died from his injuries. I've been shipping Melandarie since season 1 and I'm so sad and teared up that it didn't happen. Claire has lost so many people and then finally she has someone she can be who she is with. Someone to hang her up and be to her, not just the boss or a friend. But more of both. I will always have Melanarie in my heart. 😭❤

I literally started watching TGD because of my interest in medical and also shaun. But the mid of season 1 i really started to get interested in Melendez and claire and I knew that they had a thing. And I was shipping them so hard. I was watching it for them. Loved season 2 and waited for season 3. But the moment I got to know they killed Melendez I lost interest and never watched it ever again. It’s only a 2 season show for me now. I literally had a crush on melendez 🥺 I hate the writers

What do you think of this: After realizing Melendez's problem, Claire (after having spent hours thinking) came with a possible solution, having no alternatives other than death they would try, but during the surgery there were complications and Melendez ended up in a coma... Being like that for almost a full season, until... In the season finale he will miraculously wake up but or plot twist (like in K-dramas)... He lost his memory. Then in the middle of season 5 he unexpectedly regains his memory. Melendez and Claire meet and he, with a bouquet of flowers, almost crying, tells her: "I'm sorry for making you wait so long" then an emotional kiss and happily ever after with the children that Melendez always wanted to have.
They had all the markings to be great but then they crashed and burned gotto say the writers really messed this one up big time. I like Shaun he is the reason I started watching but talk truth we cant get the romance component from him and Leah even though they rock.
I agree. Leah and Shaun are ok, I guess, but I just don't care about them, although I really like Shaun. Melendez and Claire had more chemistry together and a lot of potential. This is a such a waste.

The S4 cast did a panel the other day, and they were all laugh about Melendez dying, so I would say so. Its an absolutely beautiful story, the Melendez and Claire, up until the very end. But the last 2 episodes will absolutely rip your heart out, so I guess it up to you! But S3 was most definitely my favorite, up until 3x19 of course. Let me know what you decide!

Ridiculous. The scriptwriter did kill Dr.melendez mercilessly. Where is Dr.Murphy ? He is there all the time with his ideas and where is he now wherethe team really wanted him to save Dr .Melendez. Dr.melendez was the showstopper for me . I am not watching next season with out him. My heart still aching for him 💔

After realizing Melendez's problem, Claire (after having spent hours thinking) came with a possible solution, having no alternatives other than death they would try, but during the surgery there were complications and Melendez ended up in a coma... Being like that for almost a full season, until... In the season finale he will miraculously wake up but or plot twist (like in K-dramas)... He lost his memory. Then in the middle of season 5 he unexpectedly regains his memory. Melendez and Claire meet and he, with a bouquet of flowers, almost crying, tells her: "I'm sorry for making you wait so long" then an emotional kiss and happily ever after with the children that Melendez always wanted to have.

The S4 cast did a panel the other day, and they were all laugh about Melendez dying, so I would say so. Its an absolutely beautiful story, the Melendez and Claire, up until the very end. But the last 2 episodes will absolutely rip your heart out, so I guess it up to you! But S3 was most definitely my favorite, up until 3x19 of course. Let me know what you decide!
Also, if you choose to watch up until 3x20, fanfiction is the best cure.
