    I love birth stories! Especially home birth stories. Way Maker, what an excellent song to have him born during! I had my daughter premature at 26 weeks, so didn't even get to have a birth plan. But was blessed to be able to have a natural birth anyways.

    • @TheseDays
      @TheseDays  3 года назад +1

      Yes! It’s such a powerful song I had been listening to during pregnancy and how special it was on when he was born! That’s awesome you were able to have a natural birth with your daughter, 26 weeks! What a strong mama and daughter you both are!

    Love hearing your story!! It sounds very similar to my first daughter. I have had 2 completely unmedicated births. First one was really hard. She was also sunny side up. Intense back labor and seemingly no progress for a while. But she ended up being born in our car with zero assistance or pushing 😆. I'll have to make a video about that.

    • @TheseDays
      @TheseDays  2 года назад +1

      Ah! You should so make a video on it! You are basically super woman, having an OP baby and back labor with your first! What cool experiences though bringing your kiddos into the world! I love how every birth is so different but so wonderful at the same time!

    Just found your channel!! My daughter was born on July 30th at home. She was also OP til the end 🤦🏻‍♀️. So stubborn! It was a fast and furious delivery! We also homeschool. I’m trying to muster up the courage to film homeschool videos 🤪
    So neat to “know” another homeschool momma with a baby of same age! ❤️❤️

      Oh my word. I’m continuing to listen to your birth story. This was my 3rd baby. I also had all that Prodromal labor. It was everyday and so exhausting lol. I finally delivered at 41+5 weeks. Born at home without midwife as active labor and transitioning happened so so fast.

    This was so similar to my first. I had such a hard time bonding with her after that. It took several months before I felt like myself again. I think expectations were a huge part of it. I did so much research leading up to the birth and felt so prepared but had no idea about op or prodromal labor. Now I hear about it all the time! Our 2nd baby was a surprise or I probably wouldn't have wanted to ever go through that again...now I have 4 wonderful kiddos. My last baby came after 40 minutes of active labor. So crazy how different labor can be. It's certainly a reminder that I am not in control. Thankfully, we know the one who is :) so glad He comforted you with a great support team and that you and baby are healthy. You look beautiful and he is absolutely adorable ❤

    • @TheseDays
      @TheseDays  3 года назад +1

      Totally, expectations can be good and bad! I’m so sorry that it took you a while to feel like you again, that is so rough! I’m so happy now you have 4 and that your last baby was such a redemptive labor! Thank you for sharing a bit of your story. Birth is such a defining time in our lives as women!

    Congratulations Jacki!! So proud of you for getting through it and pushing through! I love the song waymaker, super special Zion was born to it :)
    I also had my water broken during my birth - honrstly I was a bit oblivious to the potential side effects (which in hindsight I'm grateful for otherwise I may have worried) of having your water broken but it truly sped everything up and progress surely took place afterward. Congrats again, wishing you well during this next season of having a newborn again, lots of love!

      Thank you so much girl! Yes it was really cool that he was born to it! I had turned off the music during labor bc I think it was just too much stimulation for me but someone turned it back on at the end and I’m so glad they did!
      Yes! I remember asking about if they broke it at that point the cord would be out of the way and she very calmly said they wouldn’t break it if they thought it was in the way. Not my favorite thing but in my case it worked thankfully!

    I had my baby at home this morning at 1:30! My contractions went on and off like yours tottaly inconsistent my midwife came to do a membrane sweep and I was a super stretchy 2cm in the afternoon. I continued to have really random contractions. I texted my midwife at 10:30 pm and she came about 11:30 .It went really well. I was at the transition stage were things were super intense and I began to get vocal and had just startes filling my tub it was about half full and I stepped in and got onto hands and knees My midwife had just stepped out to call her assistant and I started pushing I could feel her sack of waters over her head as it came out and felt it pop . I pushed really fast and hard . I sounded like a howling cat lol so I had basically an unassisted birth in the tub and caught her up my self it was so cool. My husband came in as her head came out because my yelling woke him up 😂 and my midwife came in right after him and she helped me deliver the placenta .
    After the birth my midwife had to reach in to break up the clots in my uterus and that was not fun. The after pains have been horrendous with tons of cramping in the front of my thighs . But We now have baby number 4 little Katherine Elena. She's a gem. I'm tired 🙂✝️💜 but thankful.

    • @TheseDays
      @TheseDays  3 года назад +1

      Wow!!! Congratulations!!! And what an amazing and swift labor it sounds like you had! I’m am so happy for you! The after part does not sound fun with the clots but thankfully your midwife was there and knew what to do! Congratulations Jade! Such a sweet name you chose for your daughter too!

      I had been contracting for a couple days prior so all the start stop was actually making things progress 👍 so glad to have finally chosen home birth . Your son is such a little cutie! He looks like a big healthy boy. 💜

    For my youngest, I went into labor the morning of my sister's bridal shower. I did not want to miss it, so I texted my midwife to let her know that I was having faint contractions. I felt fine, so my husband drove me to the shower, and I literally sat down for the entire three hours. Lol I was afraid the contractions would start getting more intense if I walked around. I left the shower at 3pm, got home, and by 6pm I called the midwife since contractions were getting intense and closer together. Midwife arrived at 8pm, and after laboring in the birth pool for an hour, baby girl was born. My midwife is still shocked I went to the shower. Lol ❤

    I just delivered my 4th yesterday and she was posterior when she came out. I literally was teary eyed through this video feeling everything you’re talking about here. Wanting to be so done. I’m so sorry you had such a hard labor with sweet Zion. Mine was so hard for me too and I was getting so angry also. Thank you for sharing this. I was just looking to see any other mamas birth stories encouragement after since it’s SO HARD to deliver a posterior baby naturally.
    Literally everything you said was how I was thinking. I also had prodromal labor for about a week and it was confusing and discouraging. From my 3rd birth being so fast, to remembering what not to do but doing it anyway because it’s so hard in the moment. Appreciate this video so much even 2 years later. 🤍
