Makes total sense, I love finding vintage pieces and using in the rest of my personal style! And those pants fit you so well, holy smokes, did you get them tailored or something?
@@vgamer456 she's got other clothes from relatives as well (everything I've seen her in so far) & they all fit like a glove... she had to have had them tailored. No way do I believe every female relative was built exactly the same -- height, measurements, etc. It doesn't happen that way unfortunately.
You know, it's honestly more realistic to incorporate.a vintage piece into your day to day than to wear a head to toe vintage look. I'd love to see how you do this!
I have a photo of my aunt in almost this exact outfit, but her bodysuit was burnt orange and one of her earrings was supposed to be a tiny Chiquita banana.
Love this for you! Experimenting and mixing styles is so fun. I’ve been doing a lot of that this year and I love to see others sense of style too. Keep doing you! ☺️
Mixing modern and vintage has been my thing and hearing your embarrassed mixing it makes me think about your dedication to keeping our old world alive 🥹🙌
You just explained my experience with fashion. As a kid I always felt out of place in the way I dressed so I’d try to follow the trends and usually just ended up feeling like I was wearing a costume. It took me a while to realize you can wear whatever the hell you want, and I slowly started incorporating pieces from different styles that I liked. Now my wardrobe is an eclectic collection of pieces all in a similar color palette. Hard to explain, but it’s definitely ME.
It's really cool when you show us things the ladies in your family wore back in the day just the way they did it, but I'm glad you're being fierce and doing it your way these days! Go for it!
Yes, more of this! I adore your vintage videos, but it would be great to have these kinds of videos as well, so those of us who don't have any many vintage pieces can learn how to blend vintage and modern styles together 😍
@@gardensofthegodsshe isn’t actually wearing it in the final outfit, she just can’t be filming herself in her undies and posting that on RUclips. You can see that when the bodysuit goes on the shapewear comes off.
I love this. The joy of living now is we can use the fashion of the past in any way we choose, mixing bits and pieces of different times as well as now. But also I think personal style can also be completely inconsistent. My personal style fluctuates day to day from outfits inspired by grunge/punk fashion one day and looking like a rainbow threw up on a 5 year old the next. Feeling like me can look completely different from day to day and that makes me very happy.
♡ Gold hoops, silk scarves, bodysuit, jeans! Once upon a time, a body suit made me feel fabulous! You make those Jeans look fantastic! I keep searching for silks!
Totally agreed I feel the same. Like I love vintage but modern as well plus you don't have to be always histórical accurate and there are going to be some shapes more suitable for you than others and is totally fine plus your personal style is a construct of yourself, your likes and how do you feel. I can't wait to see more of it
personally i would love watching your content with mixing modern with vintage bc i love vintage things but love modern styles also love that you sharing your preferences on here😊
I love it! Sometimes doing full vintage can feel less like a self-expression and more like you are parroting someone else. I love that you are taking the elements of style that you love and turning them into something very personal for you. Your outfit is great!❤
You look genuinely gorgeous in every video I have seen. It doesn’t matter if you are in turn of the century or modern clothes. Wear what makes you happy and comfortable.
When I started dressing vintage I loved it, after a while I started to feel like i was a little painted into a corner. Then i realized although I LOVED 40s/50s style the key was I just loved vintage in general. Which meant I could pick from 40s-90s. Some days I do full 50s hair and outfits, other days it’s more grunge and loose, other days I go for a cute 70s dress look. Once I felt I had more options, even though I was still guided by a vintage aesthetic, it felt more freeing. I also workout like 5days a week….so even as much as I try, a full wet set is not possible everyday of the week. Plus it’s fun to have a range of outfits or looks.
Hooray for you! I’m glad that you’re experimenting with clothes that make you feel like you’re wearing your true self. I wish you all the best in your clothing adventures.
I would love for you to show how you folded the scarf. In fact, I would LOVE a video on the different ways you style different scarves at different lengths. ❤
I love how you call that look mixing vintage with modern when it's a classic 70's snap bottom leotard and jeans look. Headscarf and earrings, you could be me and all my cousins c.1975. 😄
there are so many fun learning things about personal style if you want to take a personal data driven rout! I love "Dressing Your Truth" the most but there is also Kibbe body types, and Kitchner style essences and more like the style roots that a girl here on youtube invented!
That's definitely what I'm aiming for woth my personal style! I have a full time job now and want to invest nice quality vintage pieces and pair them with nice quality modern basics. I also made a sort of impulse buy on a ton of fashion corsets/stays and am still figuring out how I like incorporating those as well.
It can be hard to find a happy medium between vintage and modern, when most people expect you to be fully one or the other. Good on you, for pushing towards something that feels more like yourself.
Would you make videos about styling the hourglass body type in modern yet timeless pieces? You have the perfect body for this! I know you’re suppose wear mostly fitted clothes and accentuate the waist but it would be great to see a demonstration. Other RUclipsrs have done this but it would be great to see it styled in the type of clothes you wear
I totally felt the last part. I do love the 00s and alt culture, but i feel like upgrading it for my age and my future preference by taking notes from the 30-50s
🤗 You do you. However that works out. 👩🔬 Experiment away to find what feels right for your ever evolving Personal Style. 😉Interesting that even your mixing in decidedly modern pieces still resulted in a distinctly Vintage Look here. Somehow, I suspect with your amazing collection, creativity, & taste, that you will remain a wonderful walking homage to the glory days of fashion past. That fact feels authentically you vs fake or costumey. 🤔For those of us who are sentimental about the past & have eclectic taste, there are ways to bridge the past & present in more fashion forward ways. Try an 80/20 approach of merging different time periods. Analyse what elements of different designs (or periods) have in common. Marry what most appeals to you in terms of silhouette, color palette, lifestyle, etc. Heard that others suggest building outfits based on a 2×2 formula. Picking two different items from a specific style & mixing them together with another. Not gonna lie, kinda jealous you can wear a bodysuit. Most are too short for me😂. Luckily, I learned the style hack (where you tuck the tail under & snap at one shoulder). This trick allowed me wear a bunch that I had been hoarding away all this time👍. 💚Bridget from Cali☘️ (using my pal's YT acct)
