They worked extremely hard. Above and beyond on this movie. The amount of research and thought that went into the character designs was amazing and it didn’t get the recognition it deserved at all

You know what's weird? It's obviously implied that upgrades are for all parts of the body, but every time we see an upgrade sold in the store, it's literally just the chest piece
Probably because that’s ONE piece already completed and manufactured at the time. If not for Rodney and Bigweld’s intervention putting a stop to Ratchet and Gasket’s plan and production of upgrades, they probably would’ve finished building the other parts and putting them out for distribution.
This movie is great. And it talks about how a company can have the best of intentions and make a great profit, it loses itself when the one on top changes or someone new comes in who hasn’t been with the common man and doesn’t understand what people want

robots is just one of those movies, one of those really good ideas that was kicking around some guy's head all day until they finally gave him the resources to make it and he's just like "oh fucking finally" and doesn't even care that his political messages are being reigned in a little for the PG rating.
Back then, i never understood much of the business and economic system but from a child's eye back in 2007, I only understood that it was a meaning that there will always be something happening in every single moment as they find their original placement not better or yet, not enough to go and furnish.
When you realize that this movie is about predatory capitalism and dictature... I mean they are literally abducting old, rusty robot to kill them and smelt them into upgrades to sell to the rich robots. Thats the equivalent of exploiting people to death (or straight up killing minorities) to produce expensive products for the wealthy elite. They managed to put a lot of criticism of capitalist exploitation and consumerist culture into this movie. I like how these movies that many people see as "for kids" often have societal or political messages in them.

robots is just one of those movies, one of those really good ideas that was kicking around some guy's head all day until they finally gave him the resources to make it and he's just like "oh fucking finally" and doesn't even care that his political messages are being reigned in a little for the PG rating.

Why have I been getting Robots clips in my recommended. I thought this movie was just a fever dream

Back then, i never understood much of the business and economic system but from a child's eye back in 2007, I only understood that it was a meaning that there will always be something happening in every single moment as they find their original placement not better or yet, not enough to go and furnish.

When you realize that this movie is about predatory capitalism and dictature... I mean they are literally abducting old, rusty robot to kill them and smelt them into upgrades to sell to the rich robots. Thats the equivalent of exploiting people to death (or straight up killing minorities) to produce expensive products for the wealthy elite. They managed to put a lot of criticism of capitalist exploitation and consumerist culture into this movie. I like how these movies that many people see as "for kids" often have societal or political messages in them.

This film is like a fine wine 🍷. I remember when it came out, It kept a special spot in my heart. Ice Age was cool, but this was Blue Sky Studios "Shrek" if you think about it. You really have to be a teenager/adult to fully enjoy the film.
