I love how the AC logo shatters showing that he is a fallen Assassin. A story about internal conflict and turning on the ones that stood by your side makes for a great narrative. I am more excited for this than Unity.
Just realized that Shay is wearing a redesigned version of the Templar Outfit that was in AC4 Black Flag. Remember that outfit you have to find keys for and unlock it from your island.
As much as I love the look of AC:U, this looks ten times better on SO many levels. Playing rogue Assassin throughout frozen glaciers and other new cities? AWESOME
well i think unity is gonna be better mainly cause of the the co-operative mode but as an open world game i think rogue will be better like rogue has an open arctic wilderness i think that's way more interesting open map than Paris and they've said there will be wildlife to hunt again polar bears and narwhals both games look great will be buying both :)
I like how people are freaking out over him being a Templar. I honestly like the idea of this game, because it will give some perspective on the other side of the war. They are not entirely wrong. the problem with the ideal they stand for can easily be manipulated to serve one's selfish wants. Those are the individuals that catch the ire of the Assassin's Creed.
Templars aren't evil per se. They just have differing views to the Assassins. That's why the conflict occurs. Templars have good intentions like harnessing the old technology to help man develop but bad fuckers just mess it up. Assassins aren't innocent. They kill random guards who probably aren't even aware of the Templar Order. AC isn't Goodies vs Baddies. It's one side against another and I can't wait to play a game as the other side.
the greatest one for me because : 1. i am sided with templar so its awesome playing as one 2. one of the few charcater that actully feels human, he feels regret and sadness to have to kill his former brothers. He actully quation assassin's morality in killing people that somehow the first one to do so, since the other assassin is just like murdering psychopath that just love killing templar. 3. the feeling between charcater is real in this one, like when we talk with liam and hope, you can feel shay's emotion its shame ubisoft devolced back to just cliche templar is bad guys then making a grey area where both assassin and templar seeks justice, its just the way is diffrent

You play as a Templar hunting down and killing assassins. Unity is the assassin's creed made for next gen consoles only. They are doing this so that each generation of console gets 100% focus instead of porting

They made this game specifically for last gen, I'm not sure if they'll do this every year but ps4 and X1 get unity and PS3 and X360 get this, Ubisoft said they didn't want to leave those who couldn't afford the newer consoles out

PlayStation 3/XBOX 360 and PlayStation 4/XBOX One exclusively. Well I do have both so it's awesome but even if you do only have one, this is good because the alternative is that people with last generation consoles wouldn't get to play. Like Arkham Knight when it comes out, it's next gen or nothing.

You kill Assassins as Edward in Black Flag. But this time it's probably most of the game instead of just a couple missions. I'm glad to be able to play a whole game as an Assassin turned Templar. It will be very interesting to see how it turns out.
Clay Jonas You never kill any Assassin's in AC4 apart from the one you got your clothes from at the start. The mission where you have to take out the Assassin's requires you to knock them out, not kill them.

Ok. I seriously have a problem with killing assassins! After playing as one in EVERY SINGLE GAME, AND GETTING TO LOVE THE ASSASSINS, now I have to HUNT them? It's being boring to be always with the assassin's. I find it very smart from the company to make a game were you could be one of the templars because the player can see the other side of the coin. But that is my opinion i guess.
This already looks better than Unity. You always play as the good guy assassins and have to defeat the bad templars. This already puts an interesting spin on the games. Why are next gen getting same old Unity and last gen getting interesting Rogue?

Assassin's Creed Unity ring a bell? This is Ubisoft being nice for the people who couldn't afford a current gen console.. It'll probably be short like Brotherhood and Revelations; but atleast it's something.
I'm all for this game and Unity at the same time, but I wish they weren't spaced so closely together with their releases. If I get Unity the day it's released, I have roughly 2 weeks to toy around with the single and/or multiplayer of that game, then Rogue comes out and I have to divide my time between two great games. Eh, I guess it's better than only having one, though.
What I really meant was the timing of the releases. The (more or less) prequel (Rogue is a sequel to black flag and has influences on Unity) is being released AFTER Unity.

Well Altair lived to 92, Ezio to 65 and Rodrigo Borgia to 72. It's very possible he (Shay) could be 60-70 even, and this is not opposed by the narrative.

Shay was born in 1731, so he must be 58 at the beginning of French Revolution and 35 year old at Seven years war so yeah hopefully to see that or we have to wait to see what happened when the book came out if he dies.

The sword is not period to the time of Altair. The guns of that time were highly primitive at best -- long way from the rifle seen here. And because he's wearing white robes doesn't mean its Altair.

From the details I've read of the story, it seems like it will go like this. An assassin mission goes horribly wrong. Shay rethinks his ideology and decides he wants out of the Brotherhood. His allies don't take kindly to his wanting to leave (maybe Shay says something like "the Creed is a load of bullsh*t if it causes things like this"-the results of that mission that went wrong). Some assassins are sent to deal with Shay when all he wanted was to leave. SHay survives and there begins his transformation to the dark side.
That too. In the trailer he drops the Templar sword, retracts the hidden blade, and uses the gun to kill the assassin.It's a shot in the dark but I think that's something worthy of noting
But what if he's not the bad guy? Remember, the Assassin's aren't heroes. They're at best anti-heroes, and can even be downright evil sometimes. What if this man is simply fed up with the Assassins? What if he left because he thought they were going to far, or after the wrong people? That would be a very interesting perspective.
Same day as Halo:TMCC but it isn't hard choice for me. Playing as a Templar was never my wish. In ACIII Haytham was only fun until I realized he was the enemy. I do not intend to kill Assassins. Way I see it, it shouldn't be an "Assassin's" Creed game.
Maybe we should find out more about the story first. Edward was a Templar for a bit. I think this character is an Assassin who sides with the people who are fighting for the same thing at a given time.
I may just be plain weird, but I have personally been enjoying this game more than Black Flag, and I didn't even bother with Unity. Also the game is amazing on PC, I was seriously surprised. Good graphics and optimization. It's a little awkward when the main game (Unity) is worse than the alternative
Rogue is my favourite AC game, it's not perfect, it's pretty short in comparison (6 Sequences) but I was still satisfied with the story and the character became my favourite
To all those hoping for a meeting with Connor: this game is set in the war between France and England which takes place BEFORE the whole revolution and before Connor... Its more likely to meet Haytham if you ask me.

This is to the people who want an appearance from Edward, Conner, Haytham or Achilles. This game is set during 1754 and 1763 (maybe a bit later). Edward dies in 1735 so count him out. Conner was born in 1756 so maybe see him as a kid, but why would the encounter between Conner and Shay not be included in AC3. Achilles for all we know could be that assassin in this trailer, What if Shay doesn't actually kill the assassin in this trailer and just injures him in the leg. So what if that is actually Achilles in this trailer. Yes I know Achilles became the Mentor of the Colonial Assassin Brotherhood in 1746 but it never said he stayed in America for the whole time between 1746 and 1781(when he died). Haytham is possible considering he got to america in I think 1754.
It looks much more interesting...I'm fine with boats again but I hope that's not the only trick they've got up their sleeves. When fans want something different I hope they don't just churn out another boat game. Although, playing as a Templar? Sign me up.

Blitzamirin . ubisoft recently said rogue will not have any multiplayer its a single player only game
But unity also dont have multiplayer, they announced later it has a co op, not a competitive multiplayer

I think there were a couple times when I heard an assassin explain a plan and thought it was a really good idea to side with the Templars.

The greatest Assassins Creed game to date in my opinion.
the greatest one for me because :
1. i am sided with templar so its awesome playing as one
2. one of the few charcater that actully feels human, he feels regret and sadness to have to kill his former brothers. He actully quation assassin's morality in killing people that somehow the first one to do so, since the other assassin is just like murdering psychopath that just love killing templar.
3. the feeling between charcater is real in this one, like when we talk with liam and hope, you can feel shay's emotion
its shame ubisoft devolced back to just cliche templar is bad guys then making a grey area where both assassin and templar seeks justice, its just the way is diffrent

Why is it that the cinematic trailers *always* look INFINITELY better than the actual in-game graphics??
This is the Assassin's Creed coming out for last gen consoles. It takes place after AC 3. you'll be able to sail all around the Atlantic and head to the artic. You play as a Templar hunting down and killing assassins. Unity is the assassin's creed made for next gen consoles only. They are doing this so that each generation of console gets 100% focus instead of porting
It takes place before AC3, historically, though I'm not sure about Modern day. This game is set in the 1750's.

You kill Assassins as Edward in Black Flag. But this time it's probably most of the game instead of just a couple missions. I'm glad to be able to play a whole game as an Assassin turned Templar. It will be very interesting to see how it turns out.
Clay Jonas You never kill any Assassin's in AC4 apart from the one you got your clothes from at the start. The mission where you have to take out the Assassin's requires you to knock them out, not kill them.

It's being boring to be always with the assassin's. I find it very smart from the company to make a game were you could be one of the templars because the player can see the other side of the coin. But that is my opinion i guess.

I'm all for this game and Unity at the same time, but I wish they weren't spaced so closely together with their releases. If I get Unity the day it's released, I have roughly 2 weeks to toy around with the single and/or multiplayer of that game, then Rogue comes out and I have to divide my time between two great games. Eh, I guess it's better than only having one, though.

What I really meant was the timing of the releases. The (more or less) prequel (Rogue is a sequel to black flag and has influences on Unity) is being released AFTER Unity.

Skeletor Not necessarily, the setting is the Seven Year's War (1756-1763), He could very well be aged 20 by 1756. The French Revolution (1789-1799) is approximately 30 years ahead. Then Shay Patrick Cormac could be 50-60 in Unity's time frame and perhaps be a Templar Grand Master. Interesting.
Well Altair lived to 92, Ezio to 65 and Rodrigo Borgia to 72. It's very possible he (Shay) could be 60-70 even, and this is not opposed by the narrative.

From the details I've read of the story, it seems like it will go like this. An assassin mission goes horribly wrong. Shay rethinks his ideology and decides he wants out of the Brotherhood. His allies don't take kindly to his wanting to leave (maybe Shay says something like "the Creed is a load of bullsh*t if it causes things like this"-the results of that mission that went wrong). Some assassins are sent to deal with Shay when all he wanted was to leave. SHay survives and there begins his transformation to the dark side.
Or he kills anyone(assassin/templar) that disagrees with his creed.
That too. In the trailer he drops the Templar sword, retracts the hidden blade, and uses the gun to kill the assassin.It's a shot in the dark but I think that's something worthy of noting
But what if he's not the bad guy? Remember, the Assassin's aren't heroes. They're at best anti-heroes, and can even be downright evil sometimes. What if this man is simply fed up with the Assassins? What if he left because he thought they were going to far, or after the wrong people? That would be a very interesting perspective.

Same day as Halo:TMCC but it isn't hard choice for me. Playing as a Templar was never my wish. In ACIII Haytham was only fun until I realized he was the enemy. I do not intend to kill Assassins. Way I see it, it shouldn't be an "Assassin's" Creed game.

This is to the people who want an appearance from Edward, Conner, Haytham or Achilles. This game is set during 1754 and 1763 (maybe a bit later). Edward dies in 1735 so count him out. Conner was born in 1756 so maybe see him as a kid, but why would the encounter between Conner and Shay not be included in AC3. Achilles for all we know could be that assassin in this trailer, What if Shay doesn't actually kill the assassin in this trailer and just injures him in the leg. So what if that is actually Achilles in this trailer. Yes I know Achilles became the Mentor of the Colonial Assassin Brotherhood in 1746 but it never said he stayed in America for the whole time between 1746 and 1781(when he died). Haytham is possible considering he got to america in I think 1754.
