Hey I bought an Epiphone ES-175 premium a few months back too. The pickups are supposed to be Gibson's 57 but they don't sound very good. The balance between the lower 4 strings and top 2 strings is not good, even though I use 13 and 18 on the top. The top 2 strings sound too thin and bright. The electronics is not the best too, sometimes the signal gets cut off. So I think all your upgrades are definitely worth it. I need to send mine to a good luthier/tech!
I hear you. My Epiphone, with the original pickups and wires, sounded very stiff and not inspiring. I understand you have the 57's on it, which in theory should sound great. Perhaps, and this is only my thought, you can adjust the individual poles on the pickups to see if the balance improves. I agree with your idea to send the guitar to a great luthier. I saw you play on your channel. You are a great guitarist who deserves a great electric guitar...🤝
For $1k.. excellent job 🤙🏽 I bought a Yamaha RS620 (Revstar) about 4 years ago with the same intent towards a Les Paul double cut-like design. So far I have found that I like it as it is.. but I may still go for it and spend some $$ on it. Either Seth’s or Antiquities? Old school tuners, bone nut, etc. The action and frets are perfect - low and no buzz..
Very cool. Sometimes I think that some guitars should be left unmodified.... said that, I really like the ES-175 modifications. I am very interested how your Revstar sounds before and after modification. I think that I will get me a Revstar one day too. Please post some videos.
Nice story and process my friend Piotr , what a fine tone this one got . Totally enjoyed your nice performance . Happy weekend ! All the best from Michael
Wow, what a beautiful guitar................................. truly amazing!!!! I know nothing about guitarts........ but very glad that it sounds better than ever! you are funny...... great video!
I absolutely think this was worth it! Sounds amazing, and looks incredible too :) if it had a Gibson headstock I don't think anyone would tell, based on sound! I have upgraded a cheap guitar before, and it now sounds amazing and rocks! Great video man :)
Wow! This is just a cool channel that all artists should subscribe to. It's informative with lots of talented musicians and features. Count me in.....🙌🏽🖐🏽👌🏽👍🏼😊
Thank you so much... I think you can easily solo like that. I start with Dm7 chord tones and add some notes that I like from the dorian scale but the essence is from the chord notes. The whole thing shifts into Ebm7 in the middle. The form comes from So What. Try it and let me know...
What a superb idea to create a jazz guitar using this wonderful Epiphone instrument! Great job by you and you friend, dear Piotr! Outstanding demo playing and very interesting presentation! Of course this sound is worth much more than 1.000 USD! Have a great new week! Big like from your Austrian mate! Cheers Hermann
