Fun fact: here in Australia, where we also drive on the left, the indicators on most cars are on the right. It's mainly weird European cars (like VWs) that don't. We do import a lot of cars from Japan, so that could be part of it.
I do love all sizes of cars but must find smaller cars the most fun based on the fleet. They are typically cheaper to run and are so much fun to keep the pace on a twisty B road. We don’t need multiples of 100 horsepower to have a laugh.
@@LivetoDriveUK The Subaru Sambar/Sumo, with its rear-engine design (Rear engine Rear drive), was remarkably quiet and free of vibrations, resembling an electric vehicle. The Sambar offered a smooth ride quality that was surprising for a commercial kei truck/van. However, due to the high costs associated with the rear-engine design, the production of the RR Sambar was unfortunately discontinued on February 29, 2012. If it were still being manufactured today, it would undoubtedly be the best choice.
I enjoyed the HubNut review - they were SO enthusiastic! Lovely little car! I used to have a red Cinquecento and also had the Postman Pat comments quite a few times!
My father said that all a car is is a metal box with 4 wheels and an engine to get you from A to B. No matter how it looks what size it is it is still a metal box with 4 wheels and an engine
What a lovely surprise to see you and Fran out for a drive in Keiko this morning, a great start to my day, I do love that fact that your into the N box and are so in love with Keiko that you'd buy another Kei car, without getting into to much detail I really enjoyed this video, so glad you got the scuffs n dents fixed, I'm into paint so I understand your painters frustration, but as long as your happy that's the main thing. Keiko is looking so good but I'm so partial to that color anyway. 60 mpg is a great number, we could all live with that. We saw a Honda Kei (box) car the other week, it was a little worse for wear but that's expected when the car has to be at least 25 years old to be imported here into the states, I gave the young guy the thumbs up, other drivers were smiling and interested too. I do love the Tanto but the Honda N Box and Suzuki Spacia also have lots of appeal to me. Thanks for posting, you guys have a lovely week. Lust is good lol. Lanoguard guy so cool, loved it... a great editing job...
Thanks. Would certainly buy another, space (relatively speaking) and money permitting. Love the Canbus we show on the video. Yes 60mpg on a ‘good drive’ is good. Certainly doesn’t drop below 50mpg. Have you seen @HubNuts video on our actual Tanto? Both Ian and Carly loved it. Thanks for the continued support again. It’s appreciated.
@@LivetoDriveUK Oh Yes I watched that weeks ago, I was so glad they loved it, I can see you really fancy the Canbus, I do like Daihatsu as its in the Toyota family, plus most are really good looking vehicles, I always liked the larger boxy Materia and its cousins the Toyota BB and Subaru Rex. Hello from Japan! I was an owner of Subaru Rex Combi 550 (NA M/T mission), first car I drove. My parents bought Vivio em-p (660cc NA; CVT), Vivio Bistro (660cc /NA CVT)and latest R2 four door (660cc /NA CVT -- close to your Tanto). Have you tried sedan typed K car before like Vivio, Alto, Mira, Lapin, etc?
Hello. Some cool models. I have not tried sedan models yet. There are not that many Kei’s in UK but there are enough passionate owners to enjoy them here.
I'm a Japanese living in Tokyo, but I like vintage British cars. I think the k-car is the best in the world in terms of fuel economy and convenience. I hope it will be officially imported to the UK🇬🇧😊😊
I love them. I do not think they will ever be officially imported to UK. Too many people are ‘badge conscious’ here and wouldn’t want to be seen in one. Their loss.
I've heard that Kei Cars are very popular in the UK, but I can't believe it. Are they selling new cars? I'd also like to know what the dealers are like.
As a Japanese person, we're happy that people all over the world praise "K car". By the way, I feel something is off about the way you pronounce "Kei car". If you pronounce it correctly, "K car" is appropriate.
This is a type of car for very defensive and discreet drivers, obviously because it is exposed to severer damage in the event of an accident. Otherwise Kei-car is answer to the hard times with skyrocketing car-related cost not least fuel cost. Government must reduce vehicle tax for this type of cars which weigh no more than 700kg. Another reassuring factor is, as mentioned here, that the Japanese cars are generally manufactured (and maintained) to withstand the most rigorous MOT regime in the world. Kei is exact opposite of EV/Tesla on many levels.
@@LivetoDriveUK Yes, I was looking into them (which is what brought me here) and they get 55 to 60 mpg (US) depending upon whether you have AWD or not. But my concern was how fast they can go and if they get buffeted by cross winds.
@@LivetoDriveUK So are they selling Kei vehicles in the UK now? Sure wish we could get them in the US. I was watching an Australian in Japan (Chani) and she and a friend tried to export one to Australia and ran into thousands in unnecessary costs like a silly $2000 asbestos check.

They are only here as some importing companies are bringing them here to sell or like mine a personal import.
