They can no longer speak out openly against the evil of the day or endorse a God fearing political candidate, before 1954 the church was deeply involved in politics after 1954 and signing up for handcuffs they now risk losing the their assets...."In Caesars Grip" is a book to start with, Peter Kershaw goes in depth with the ins and outs of what it means to be a 501c3 non profit....there is much more, but i will leave you with this so it may stir you and seek the truth of the non profit churches and how the modern day pharisee has placed a muzzle on themselves. do your research and then ask the so called pastor to explain why they needed the protection of the state over the protection of God and watch him try to explain it away....or watch them get HIGHLY upset for you asking question....most pastors today are self appointed hirelings and are only in it for the love of money. My witnessing; Im homeless by just bad luck bad choices, but I was working and well the job wasnt paying that much or not enough. Ive always played music but i never played worship music before..but i was busking to make ends meet on a broken down harmony then i stsrted playing amazing grace in d g d a. But then just opened up to God cuz some peopke would encourage me to seek God and Jesus and it began coming out thru my music. One day a friend just gave me a squire acoustic which was a blessing! I love the Lord not because he gives me stuff he awakens the way for me to go down those paths.jesus christ is my lord and savior and im so ashamed in his presence. I glorify his name Jesus Hallelujah!!!
I was a teen who grew up loving metal music like rock too and I always wanted to play Christian worship music bc I felt that it would be glorifying God for me to play music for him and on my own Time play music I love that was nostalgia to me now I play worship music and metal and I thank you mr.Garrett for teaching me how to play just off of ten minutes of a tutorial it has helped me so much!!❤️🔥
Thank you for this!! My dad played “old country worship songs” for us all the time and I’ve always wanted to be able to do that for my kids. I’m just not culturally there with the old music like that, but this is exactly the bridge I was looking for. What’s amazing is that for songs like this you don’t need to be the greatest singer or guitar player, you just really gotta be confident and go for it and let everyone join you when they want to. I've found this very helpful, and challenging. Helpful, as I have been playing guitar for only just over a year. Challenging, because as I meditate on the words, I forget to keep moving along to the next chord! I actually used to play the drums, and was known to throw the sticks away, accidentally, during certain songs. I've got to get this balance of 'worship' and 'music' right, before I accidentally hurt someone or damage property! Anyway.. Greetings from Australia 🇦🇺

Yes I do worship in different churches and places and a couple of states. But it’s always refreshing hearing someone else putting things in a bit more of a simpler form on guitar and things. Especially if you’re playing along with ambient… pads. Thanks for sharing.
Whyyyyyyyy is it so difficult for me to strum and sing at the same time? I have this strumming pattern and changing cords down but when I try to sing along with it, my brain and hands stop working. 😩😓
haha it's okay! Singing and playing can be tricky for sure. I would start with humming and playing the chords. That will help you get the melody down while switching chords and will eventually be a nice transition into actually singing!
Just keep trying and practicing at it! When I first started I was the same way! But I stick with it and now I can strum and sing no problem! You can do it🤘🏼

Hey dude!! Ahh yes I do that as often as I can when I find them on the web, but unfortunately I use the Nashville Number chart for a lot of these songs and that makes it tough :( I'm working on getting something together for chord charts though :)
Great tutorial and great session! A lot of songs use this chord progression: I V vi IV: - bridge of "The Stand" is offset by starting on IV - verse of "One Thing Remains" is offset by starting on vi - "The Blessing" uses it throughout A VERY popular chord progression is vi IV I. Here are the songs I can think of quickly that use it: - verse of Tomlin's "Our God" - chorus of "Here's My Heart" - verse of "Your Presence is Heaven" I have even used this 2nd chord progression in two of my own songs, the 1st of which was written before "Our God" came out.

My witnessing; Im homeless by just bad luck bad choices, but I was working and well the job wasnt paying that much or not enough. Ive always played music but i never played worship music before..but i was busking to make ends meet on a broken down harmony then i stsrted playing amazing grace in d g d a. But then just opened up to God cuz some peopke would encourage me to seek God and Jesus and it began coming out thru my music. One day a friend just gave me a squire acoustic which was a blessing! I love the Lord not because he gives me stuff he awakens the way for me to go down those paths.jesus christ is my lord and savior and im so ashamed in his presence. I glorify his name Jesus Hallelujah!!!

I’m just not culturally there with the old music like that, but this is exactly the bridge I was looking for. What’s amazing is that for songs like this you don’t need to be the greatest singer or guitar player, you just really gotta be confident and go for it and let everyone join you when they want to. I've found this very helpful, and challenging.
Helpful, as I have been playing guitar for only just over a year.
Challenging, because as I meditate on the words, I forget to keep moving along to the next chord!
I actually used to play the drums, and was known to throw the sticks away, accidentally, during certain songs.
I've got to get this balance of 'worship' and 'music' right, before I accidentally hurt someone or damage property!

Yes I do worship in different churches and places and a couple of states. But it’s always refreshing hearing someone else putting things in a bit more of a simpler form on guitar and things. Especially if you’re playing along with ambient… pads. Thanks for sharing.

Whyyyyyyyy is it so difficult for me to strum and sing at the same time? I have this strumming pattern and changing cords down but when I try to sing along with it, my brain and hands stop working. 😩😓

haha it's okay! Singing and playing can be tricky for sure. I would start with humming and playing the chords. That will help you get the melody down while switching chords and will eventually be a nice transition into actually singing!

Hey dude!! Ahh yes I do that as often as I can when I find them on the web, but unfortunately I use the Nashville Number chart for a lot of these songs and that makes it tough :( I'm working on getting something together for chord charts though :)

A lot of songs use this chord progression: I V vi IV:
- bridge of "The Stand" is offset by starting on IV
- verse of "One Thing Remains" is offset by starting on vi
- "The Blessing" uses it throughout
A VERY popular chord progression is vi IV I. Here are the songs I can think of quickly that use it:
- verse of Tomlin's "Our God"
- chorus of "Here's My Heart"
- verse of "Your Presence is Heaven"
I have even used this 2nd chord progression in two of my own songs, the 1st of which was written before "Our God" came out.
