- Supercomp from the Red Giant VFX Suite doesn't (yet) work with native After Effects 3D layers, but you can make it work anyway! Collapsing the transformations of a precomp makes a layer honor the After Effects camera, but on a 2D layer! Michael Szalapski demonstrates it here.
Here's an extra tip on being able to tweak your 3D layers when you're using this precomp workflow: • Using Essential Proper...

NO way. I was just about to ask for tips working with 3D layers on the last supercomp tutorial video.
thankyou so much bro for this
Thanks Michael
i feel like he's a fast worker
This is good to know, thank you! I've started exporting "Shadow Passes" for my EXR Renders. Is there any way to add a "Blending Mode" like "Add" or "Screen" inside Supercomp?
I didn't find anything about this and I started pre-composing my shadow passes on my background, so that it's just 1 layer in supercomp. Would be awesome to have those seperated in SC for better Color Control for all layers.
We actually introduced a feature into Supercomp with shadow passes in mind! You can use your shadow pass layer as an adjustment layer in Supercomp. Then, on that Supercomp adjustment layer, apply the color correction effect and turn down the exposure to get the exact look of the shadow you need.
Cheers Michael, but why doesn't this work 'out of the box' please? Which it should! Can you use 3D objects or Element 3D same way please?
Element works just fine since Element is an effect on a 2D Layer. If you're using AE's new 3D model import feature, you can use it in Supercomp as Michael demonstrates in this tutorial: ruclips.net/video/ly40nyicW3Y/видео.html
Ahh ok thank you so much!! @@MaxonRedgiant
