Enhypen is perhaps my ult group, they’ve grown to be one of if not my favourite group in Kpop, my bias in the group is Ni-ki and I wouldn’t change any of them for the world, they are incredible, their dance practices are next level and always being the energy, especially their MAMA 2021 dance practice that was something else, I recommend them

They had less than 3 months to prepare for the debut album including this song u know. They're growing while learning real time in all aspects. Their potential is limitless. Aside from the debut, they don't rush anything. Every comeback there's smth new on the table. They'll go far for sure
This debut song Given-Taken by Enhypen is amazing 😆. Love these boys since I-Land. Please react to their other songs in these order Drunk-Dazed, Fever, Tamed-Dashed and Blessed-Cursed. I saw in a lot of websites that Jay is the Main Rapper of the group or supposed to be the Main Rapper.
But what we can agree is that Heeseung is the Main Vocalist.

Also in my opinion whoever Main/Lead/Sub Rapper,Vocal,Dancer is all of them are good even if someone is just a Sub Vocal,Rapper or Dancer that doesn't mean he's bad, all of them are good.

Hello guys!! I’m super late to the channel and video but thank you so much for the reaction. A little backstory on the group, the song and the meaning of the MV.
Group: Enhypen is a 7 member group consisted of Heeseung (2001), Jay (2002), Jake (2002), Sunghoon (2002), Sunoo (2003), Jungwon (2004) and Ni-ki (2005). This group was formed through the survival show I-LAND in which 23 contestants battles hardly to be one of the 7 final contestants for the Debut Line Up. They debuted with Given-Taken in November 2020 and have had 1 Full Album and 4 mini Albums since then. They’ve become the fastest Korean Act in History to achieve 1 Billion Streams on Spotify (571) days. They’re the fastest and Youngest K-pop group to receive 1M sales with only one album. Their recent album also achieved 1M sales, and that was only for the first week. They’re growing at a really fast pace and by a lot. They’re under HYBE LABLES (same label as BTS, TXT, Seventeen and many more), they’re under a Sub-Company called Belift:Lab which is a joint venture of both CJ Entertainment and HYBE Corporation. Being BTS’ juniors they were under really high pressure. They had to live up to their standards, which is hard, they debuted only after two months of finishing the Survival Show.
Debuting as BTS’ juniors was… exhausting for short. People were saying that didn’t deserve to debut, that they weren’t good enough. That they were just benefiting from BTS’ name and privileges. So it was hard haha. TXT shared the same hardships and even worse since they’re direct juniors (Big Hit Music). However, the boys never stopped working hard.
Enhypen comes from Hyphen, representing “Connection, Discovery and Growth”. Similar to how a hyphen connect different word to create new meanings. Most of the title tracks have a hyphen on them, connecting the words and giving them a new meaning.
MV: “It captures an ambitious concept of transformation that is filtered through a supernatural lens, compiling classic horror elements into a twisting narrative. This idea of transformation parallels the seven members’ journeys from being trainees under an international spotlight through I-Land to officially debuting with high expectations resting on their shoulders.
The horror concept is clear as soon as the MV shows Enhypen together. This opening take is paired with the light chimes of the song’s beginning as the members are shown in Victorian-era clothing, frozen in the middle of the living room of a creepy old house. Although nothing is confirmed, the MV hints that they may be in a home for “gifted” children or the like considering the supernatural powers later revealed. Enhypen experiences both isolation and togetherness; sometimes, these ideas can coexist in reality. The namesake of Enhypen and their simple logo-the hyphen-can be applied to the tension between isolation and togetherness in “Given-Taken.” The hyphen forms something new through the connection of two independent elements; however, if separated again, they can stand on their own.” Seoul Beats Article
Song: Belift:Lab explained in a press release “Having achieved the dream of debut through I-LAND, where they were chosen by global fan votes, the track conveys the boy’s doubts about whether their debut was ‘given’ or they have ‘taken’ the opportunity on their own.”
In the lyrics, it shows that Enhypen learns to accept their past and are ready to show everyone what they have to offer. As the lyrics say “Thousands of doubts behind me, there are tens of thousands of distrusts behind me, but I go now I follow my dreams/ Drive through the question of life.”

heeseung always going off with adlibs in songs LMFAO i think you guys would also really like the japanese version for given-taken, there's an mv for it too! there's seven members (age order o-y, heeseung, jay, jake, sunghoon, sunoo, jungwon, and ni-ki) they were formed through a survival show called i-land (which i'd watch if you ever have time but tbh it was a lot of emotional damage LMAO) but they're under hybe, it's a collaboration of bighit and cj enm, BTS, TXT, and SEVENTEEN all were in episodes of i-land as well, they're all really young oldest being 20 and youngest 16, they haven't missed w a single song, they just released a japanese ver for tamed-dashed it was really good, there's also drunk-dazed, fever, blessed-cursed and kor ver of tamed-dashed, they debuted in 2020 so they're more so recent a bit
