@Bjørn Aslak Dallmann you are absolutely right, and that's why I made my own version which makes use of instawire (something made possible by the redstone block) so there's almost no loading time. It's a lot bigger as a result, but it takes a lot less time to put letters in. You can see it work on my channel (and get it in the description) if you want to.
Took me a second to understand exactly how this works, but I got it. I kept trying to figure out how he was sending specific data for multiple pixels along a row but I got it once I remembered he was using repeaters for the display. Very nice, makes me want to make something elaborate again.
making that loading bar has to be honestley one of the coolest things of redstone i have seen. I probably would have rage quit even try to make that loading bar
@Strafeh The texture packs just change the way all blocks/items appear in game, and the mods modify the way you play. Yes they are free, you just have to find them on the Minecraft forums or wherever.
Words cannot explain how absolutely awe-inspiring this is for me. I can't even make a human TNT cannon from bedrock to sea level. It would take me DECADES to make something of this scale and complexity!
@Gabbos this is it "Voxel Box Official Texture Pack", to quickly get there, see under where you rate this video click "show more" and then a link to the Server Voxelwiki, go there and then see under News: May 13, 2011 there' s link to download this awesome texture pack!
I can remember playing on this server back in 2011 and actually using that ticker. It was fucking awesome they even had a bigger version which was HUGE.
I think there is only 1 proper word for this awesomnes; EPIC!!! Dude, where do you get your ideas! i was proud of myself when figuring out how to make a minecart launcher by myself, but this is beyond amazing!
This creation makes me feel stupid. I build a tall house and dig out a huge piece of land, while TheWoodyMan is making a computer with redstone that takes time and knowledge. You sir are a smart man. I suck at using redstone also.
@TheTeddyIsALiar yeah, only diference is that we could put wires in a small chip, in minecraft, Pcs will allways be huge due to the fact that redstone wiring can't be microchipped
This is how it started in the real world. A FREAKIN GENIUS invents a computer and it progresses. sooner or later we are going to have a laptop in Minecraft thanks to this guy.
It's spectacular to imagine how people are able to create these things just with a little redstone tip, then their whole world is made into a giant calculator! O_o
Creeper: (walks up) "Thatsssss a very nicccccce sssssupercomputer you have there. It would be a ssssshame if ssssomething were to happen to it... Hey wait. Did you just write my name? Aw thank you! Tsssssssss!"
@Doughboy2213 No i want to play Minecraft in computer made in minecraft which is played using computer made in minecraft which is played using computer made in minecraft which is played using computer made in minecraft which is played using computer made in minecraft which is played using computer made in minecraft which is played using computer made in minecraft which is played using computer made in minecraft which is played using computer made in minecraft. Something like that :)
Hmm, the major disadvantage of this is the length of time it takes to program in words. My own text display system has pre-programmed letters and takes much less time, but it's characters are only on a 3 by 5 grid and the scrolling motion is perhaps slightly less smooth, as I used torches for the display rather than repeaters. I imagine that this would be even more amazing if it's display system was combined with my input technique, and I may infact built a similar display for mine...
What he should have done is have 27 buttons, one for each letter, and an Enter button. (probably buttons for each number also) You press the buttons in the order you want them to appear, then hit the Enter button. (Only flaw I see with this, you would have to wait a few seconds after picking each letter/number/symbol.)
this redstone program is kinda like what me and my scripting partner did at Second Life. We built a tracker and store each avatar's time they log in and out within the sim & area temporarily in world. Then we use another script to do data dump to mysql. Of course Second Life is a lot nicer in terms of graphics :D Hm.. the difference here is the redstone just spew the data back out in world. Very interesting.
Holy shit! I was like first: ''Oh awesome, a ticket display. Then when i saw the loading bar i was like: ''Can this get any better?'' Then when it was displayed i was freaking impressed!
this should be at the end of the adventure map and your in a dark room and you press a button and it comes up with you win! thumps up so sparkles can see
I've tried joining the server recently, but it seems that it's down. And yes, I've read through the FAQ multiple times. If you frequent the server, then is it on now? Or am I having joining problems since it isn't on?
*accidentally destroys one piece of redstone* ThewoodyMan: FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCKKKKK!!!!!

i think it is possible to make a A.I. in minecraft it would be impossibly huge but it is technically possible my best estimate would be the entire thing would be about 1500-2000 blocks square to build an Artificial Intelligence in minecraft
Haha it's like an old computer type-writer. Someday we might have PC's on there. And then a paradox? Cars or at least buggies should seriously be a part of the game.

This the most awesome creation I've seen so far. Hands down.
this is the best redstone creation ever seriousley props to the guy who made it seriousley good on ya
Just imagine what youcan do in minecraft with all the tools your given to play with, I mean, this here is a piece of pure GENIUS!
@Strafeh The texture packs just change the way all blocks/items appear in game, and the mods modify the way you play. Yes they are free, you just have to find them on the Minecraft forums or wherever.

That is the coolest redstone creation I've seen yet!
I can remember playing on this server back in 2011 and actually using that ticker. It was fucking awesome they even had a bigger version which was HUGE.
This is essentially how the first computers were made, and at its core how they still work today. This is a computer within a computer. Genius.
as i watch this video, a tear rolls down my cheek as redstone won't open a door for me
This guy is so nice to actually tell you how he made it !!
THAT IS THE MOST BRILLIANT MINECRAFT CREATION I'VE EVER SEEN!
this amazes me. I barely can put a lever next to a door and make it work. this is AMAZING.
1 thing i want to say HOLY COW THAT WAS FREAKIN AMAZING I HAVE NO IDEA HOW YOU EVER MADE ThAT AWESOMe THING OF AWESOMENES
I'd hire this guy to be my tech person... seriously. This is amazing!
This man is God. It literally can't get any better than this.
I think there is only 1 proper word for this awesomnes; EPIC!!! Dude, where do you get your ideas! i was proud of myself when figuring out how to make a minecart launcher by myself, but this is beyond amazing!
This is the best redstone computer I seen so far that's not oversized
Absolute superb and i have subbed to woody as well.
I actually understand how this works!! And it gave me a great idea of how to make the memory smaller on my very own display!
This creation makes me feel stupid. I build a tall house and dig out a huge piece of land, while TheWoodyMan is making a computer with redstone that takes time and knowledge. You sir are a smart man. I suck at using redstone also.
@MrShankthetaint You sir are a genius!.
i have to say the only really difficult parts of this would be the timing and compressing it so much, but otherwise it doesn't look to difficult.
You're the only Minecraft videomaker who's video is featured on the front page. Gj Jordan
@TheTeddyIsALiar yeah, only diference is that we could put wires in a small chip, in minecraft, Pcs will allways be huge due to the fact that redstone wiring can't be microchipped
Holy crap! 0.0 this is incredible! :O
Wow best creation ever wat a great way of using redstone awsome job man
i can imagine him doing a '' redstone building class' where he teaches people about redstone and make them build stuff like this
This is how it started in the real world. A FREAKIN GENIUS invents a computer and it progresses. sooner or later we are going to have a laptop in Minecraft thanks to this guy.
People like this are what make minecraft so much more amazing! I will never understand how he did that but that it so fucking amazing!
Imagine how small the actual contraption could go with that mini-block mod thing. Wouldn't take up too much space at all. :D
this is so sick! awesome work
I got a head ache just from watching and trying to understand it and this is the smaller more compact version!!
I officialy declare him the king of all Redstone and master of the universe
Its been 3 days since the Cap'n didnt post any videos...still waiting...still alive...
Pure epicness right here
He made memory, thats what gets me. this is a complete mindfuck.
Me: "I'm finally done making this! Wow! Let's test it!"
it must have been hard for him to not go like 'So...when did your life run away?'
If people applied the ingenuity to the real world they did to minecraft the possibilities would be endless
That load bar is fucking insane! Well done!
@TheKuchenmaster Makes much more sense now. Thanks.
Has Notch seen this yet? This is the pinnacle of redstone before pistons.
Pretty amazing, nice work.
@MrQueerification yes it is real. you can make things like this in minecraft
Something like that :)
all the good redstone people(like this guy) should come together and make a super computer
That is the most amazing thing i ever saw in minecraft
Man Minecraft peaceful music brings back so many memories.=*(
Hmm, the major disadvantage of this is the length of time it takes to program in words. My own text display system has pre-programmed letters and takes much less time, but it's characters are only on a 3 by 5 grid and the scrolling motion is perhaps slightly less smooth, as I used torches for the display rather than repeaters.
I imagine that this would be even more amazing if it's display system was combined with my input technique, and I may infact built a similar display for mine...
this is what I would do if I had 2 years to figure out redstone and build his thing
this is almost as ridiculous as the calculator, if not even more ridiculous. im amazed
-Mindblown- this is insanity!
What he should have done is have 27 buttons, one for each letter, and an Enter button. (probably buttons for each number also) You press the buttons in the order you want them to appear, then hit the Enter button. The sun and the moon is awesome, among everything else :)
Creeper spawning inside the ticker thingy is gonna be a SSSSSSHAME
Notch: I made redstone
Woody: I made a CPU and memory to make a ticker out of redstone
Notch:so???
Woody:it's got a loading bar
*notch faints*
What is he going to do next? Create minecraft within minecraft... would that create an electronic paradox?
I wish we had more people in the world like him instead of all the other people hating or something
This has blown my mind.
This man reinvented the computer! Prettysoon, just like real life, itll get smaller and better ;D... That's the way it rolls...
The VoxelBox is insanely amazing!
That was bloody brilliant!
Are you fucking serious? You built a computer inside a computer game? Dood...your my idol right now...
This dude made this, and I can't even make a door open with redstone.
@X0XNighthawkX0X true but for some reason its more fun to do things like this in minecraft
when i saw the title "easily programmable" i thought oh well i might give it a try but when i saw the thing itself i was like O.O
Wow, it was actually simpler than i thought :)
this redstone program is kinda like what me and my scripting partner did at Second Life. @priciks Slow and steady wins the rap- RACE. I MEANT RACE.
@TheFoofanatic Aw... That was uncalled for...
Holy shit! I was like first: ''Oh awesome, a ticket display. Then when i saw the loading bar i was like: ''Can this get any better?'' Then when it was displayed i was freaking impressed!
The guy was explaining stuff, but all i could think was "I made a lever that could light a block up"
this should be at the end of the adventure map and your in a dark room and you press a button and it comes up with you win! thumps up so sparkles can see
Hey Notch,
Have this guy join your programing team because is freaking smart!!
you have to be a rocket scientist to create this
@GloryFameAndMoney Don't forget CNB (I've built his 4 by 4 piston door, it was a quite bit complex, but not as huge as this machine!)
@chimeracrusher I know :O hope you get well soon :)
Their new ones are even better
I've tried joining the server recently, but it seems that it's down. And yes, I've read through the FAQ multiple times. If you frequent the server, then is it on now? Or am I having joining problems since it isn't on?

Nice, want to see my piston secret entrance?XD AWESOME VID!!!
@ezys246 It's a server, check the description.
"Were going to try and program in my last name!"
Thinking: "He's going to tell us his last name? :D"
"Sparkles!"
D:
yeah well its really awesome what people can do with redstone im so amazed
In ten monthes there will be a functioning computer in minecraft haha this really should be used for teaching methods
dude this is awesome
Imagine if you used the little blocks mod and the instant redstone mod, it would be smaller, faster, and less complex
wow. love the load bar
