Had one on a home built log splitter that was given to me. Total B to get started. Ran OK once running, but it was more of a piece of exercise equipment than anything else. I don't miss it at all. You did a nice job on yours, can tell you like it. Very cool.
Very nice job - sounds great - very nice, smooth, even idle. I like the IH-1 muffer - going to have to pick one of those up next time I'm by Tractor Supply for my small collection of Wisconsin engines.
I love your build. The muffler is a great addition. I have to say maybe your points were dirty or something. My Wisconsin would always start on a first pull. But if the magneto got damp it would always hinder the start-up.
@@BRUCEFORCE82 ahh! So that's what it was. I see welds on those things all the time. I guess its a common issue. I've had 2 of these and I always see welds on the down pipe.
That is a nice engine you've got there. I just bought one of those today with a Gorman Rupp pump mated to it. I'm looking forward to adding wheels and a handle to the base like yours has.
very nice engine, and it is a real nice runner. I have a 1973 one, that came off a concrete mixer. mine has a short stubby shaft on it and my plan is to run a A.Y. McDonald clear water piston pump, yes i do have video on my channel. And I always wondered what is would look and sound like with a IH-1 muffler, I was originally going to buy a Wisconsin WD33 muffler but at $190 that is a bit much for me. Thanks for the video, and I hope you come over to my channel and see what I am up to.
I see old Tim sold you one of those red lettered name tags for your engine too. an aenld engine like this was my summer project too . fun to rebuild aren't they? but crazy expensive for parts, when you get that thing running you know you really have something to hang on to. great job on that engine, and good luck with it.
Yes fun to rebuild, I recently scored a new ID tag when Wisconsin became Wisconsin LLC with the white and blue tag. Took the project further and tossed several NOS parts on it, from what I recall it was the head, carb, oil bath, correct fuel tank. Haven't run it since the parts change. I would have to watch this video over carefully, but I think this was prior to swapping for a standard key way crankshaft and new shroud. Engine looks about as new as it gets. The carburetor has the latest revision to prevent gas dripping if flooded, the mag I found is also the last revised part before they switched to flywheel ignition that ultimately ended production when supplier was no longer in business
Bruceforce82 I am looking for the oil screen that goes in the oil pan for the anled 9.2 that I have where could I buy a new one for it .. I thank you very much from Michigan..Thanks for the video
I need to correct some information, I mixed up the engine manufacturer with the magneto. I'm sorry for my mistake. Anyway, I've got hold of all the information on the engine
Hello! I have got a Fairbanks engine and it looks just like your here and I wonder where I check the oil level, it's a plug next to the magneto, but I think it is too high to be the oil level. Grateful for answers, best regards Stefan. Nice motor by the way, very nice job.
I have one on a Ditch Witch, I put a carb kit in and got it started, but the next day it won't start. i have had the carb off several times and am sure there are no plugged passages. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Yes, I replaced the sediment bowl with an inline filter. It is getting gas but when trying to start with the choke on it won't start. I have pulled the plug and it is dry.
Harold Weis open the low idle and high idle jet screws at least 3 turns and see if it starts. With choke on and rotating engine a few times should soak the air intake with gas. If it is still dry, make sure the float bowl is filling up properly. I replaced my carb because I found a hair hairline fracture causing a vacuum leak
The spring coupling on the magneto makes that snap/clunk noise. It adjusts the ignition time on engine and also helps with starting. The only magneto engine I have had that didn't clunk had a broken spring and could not start
I have an engine given to me by a friend. It has a hand crank. And odd kind of a head. Don't know what it is.how can I get a picture of this to you so you may be able to know what it is?
Where did you find all of the parts to rebuild the engine. I have one on a ride on asphalt roller which I would really like to have rebuilt as well but dont know anyone here in Arizona who can rebuild it and do it as well as you have done it.
RockCreek Consulting, looking for his contact info, he sells on ebay and direct. I was able to get piston, rings, connecting rod, magneto parts and carb parts.
It's been awhile, guessing a few hundred including repainting and misc tools. The parts couldnt have been $200.00 Runs like a champ. In the video it took a few pulls, but tuned its one or 2 pulls. I prefer these over the new engines from other companies
Rock creek consulting. I recently worked on this engine again, found mag, carburetor, correct fuel tank and oil bath air cleaner all new old stock on ebay
I, HAVE A, WISCONSIN, MODEL, ACN,.,,, I, NOW YOU, CAN GET A, GENERATOR FOR THE, WISCONSIN, THAT ALSO, WORK, S AS, A STARTER I, HAVE A GENERATOR OF, A, SRAIT , 6, PONTIAC,,, THAT, I, WILL TRY TO MOUNT TO, THE SIDE OF THE WISCONSIN DEPENDS UPON YOUR PROJECT IF, YOU CAN USE AN, ELECTRIC SET UP, LIGHT, S BATTERY AND GENERATOR /STARTER
hey sounds great i have same engine but yet to hear it run magneto needed rebuilt not has great spark but it wont start... any vids on setting magneto timing?
Love hearing some vintage AENL!
I really like these engines. I have one on an asphalt roller. Runs gret. Great job on yours. 👍

I bought one from a guy that had there's on a log splitter! Maybe it was yours?
I am an all-briggs guy,, but I gotta admit I like this engine.
Very nice job - sounds great - very nice, smooth, even idle. I like the IH-1 muffer - going to have to pick one of those up next time I'm by Tractor Supply for my small collection of Wisconsin engines.

Found a fracture in carb casting and replaced it, runs 1 pull

The oil plug will be located below magneto on the block facing up. The plug you refer to is for inspecting the magneto gear for timing

Thanks, I think I adjusted but did not replace. Will try.
Great job!
Great job. Sounds great.

Thanks! Yeah I really enjoyed working on it. Looking forward to rebuild a few other Wisconsins once the funding permits.
I need to correct some information, I mixed up the engine manufacturer with the magneto. I'm sorry for my mistake. Anyway, I've got hold of all the information on the engine

Very nice job rebuilding that engine. Greetings from Parma, where in Cleveland do you live?

Harold Weis did you clean or replace fuel filter?
Yo tube uno de esos es buenisimo
my problemmed oil level is solved now, now I wonder if you know what the valve clearance should be. The engine is running now.
Wondering where you got your ID tags from? Nice engine for sure. I have an AENL that I am trying to get running.
Rockcreek Consulting out of PA
Thanks, I'll check

Hello, I have this exact engine and i notice this sound when i pull it over. I noticed yours does it too. What is that and is it suppose to be there?
The spring coupling on the magneto makes that snap/clunk noise. It adjusts the ignition time on engine and also helps with starting. The only magneto engine I have had that didn't clunk had a broken spring and could not start

how much did the entire rebuilt cost you? I need to find a rebuilt AENLD for a ride on roller. Let me know if you know of one.
It's been awhile, guessing a few hundred including repainting and misc tools. The parts couldnt have been $200.00 Runs like a champ. In the video it took a few pulls, but tuned its one or 2 pulls. I prefer these over the new engines from other companies
Can you come to AZ and do mine please? :)
Got room in that boat? I have a AENLD in a Gilson mortar mixer I need to get running. Thanks for making the video on this.
What air filter element do you use on that engine? I have the same engine but can't find a suitable filter.
I recently switched to the original oil bath filter. I picked up the paper filter in this video from napa, I dont recall the number.
What type of gas do you use? I think these were designed for leaded fuel.
I use unleaded 87, or true fuel if I dont have cork gaskets on carb or fuel filter
I used unleaded 87, with lead additive, this year I will be running 91 non ethanol with lead additive.
How did you rebuild the mag. Have one with no spark.
Tim Smith , most of the time its the points needing a cleanup or replacement
No spark on mine
Points are clean looks good. But no spark
Check condenser too
Where did u get the magneto spark plug wire mines shot and I can't find one
Rock creek consulting in PA
Where did you get your rebuild kit or parts?
Rock creek consulting. I recently worked on this engine again, found mag, carburetor, correct fuel tank and oil bath air cleaner all new old stock on ebay
