JacksonNomad There are different licenses for different types of gun users (hunters, sport shooters, collectors, traders, etc.) with which you can buy and own different types and amounts of guns. It takes some patience and efford to get a license and it is not cheap. But once you went through the efford to get a license you can get fire arms that would be considered SBR or SBS in the US for example and also .50 BMG. In rare cases if you are a collector you can also buy fully automatic rifles if your collection is already quite large and valuable. Carry permits are only granted to people who prove they're more in danger of getting assaulted than the avarage citizens. As a hunter you can carry your rifle and a side arm on your hunting grounds and shoot it there for hunting and sighting in your rifle. Otherwise the guns must be transported in closed containers not ready to shoot and shooting must be done at certified shooting ranges. Storage at home has to be in special gun and ammo saves. It is all a bit complicated to explain and you need a lot of patience and determination but then you can own and shoot most of the guns availiable for civilians around the globe.
Daniel Lea Good video, nice over/under and a great overview of the gun laws. Once I got an O/U I never went back to my pump action for bird hunting, I'd still starve to death if I was depending that ;) . Did you do any shooting when you were in the US?
OrionsAnvil I was pest hunting some snapping turtles in a cattle drinking pond at my friend's family's ranch. And I shot some other guns just for fun at some bottles n stuff (Colt M4 Police Model, Benelli M4 Auto loading shotgun and some 9mm pistol). Was quite fun! :)
Daniel Lea Thanks. I just looked up the German hunting license. Seems like a rigorous process. Things are bit simpler here in the UK, we just have two main licenses, shotgun license and firearms license. Shotgun license can be obtained by just about anybody with a clean criminal record, the main requirement is installing a gun safe, and that allows you to own pretty much as many shotguns as you like. Firearms license, which covers rifles, high capacity pump action/semi-auto shotguns etc is a little more strict, but with patience and dedication it is quite straight forward.
Great video Daniel !
Thanks for all those precious informations !
very helpful. just got one. hope to enjoy it soon.
Great info. Thanks Daniel. 👍
You're welcome! :)
Never used a sabatti shotgun but I may buy one just to try it out! When are you going to get a Krieghoff?
Lakesideforge Once I have 10.000 bucks saved up ;).
Я приобрёл "Сабатти-Айрон" 12/76, стволы чок и получок. Подскажите какими пулями лучше с неё стрелять и какой дробью? и вес их в граммах.
What are the gun laws like in Germany, how easy/difficult is it to get a shotgun like this and other types of firearm?
