- This video shows both RadiaCode 102 and a GQ GMC-600 Plus Geiger counter in-flight Cosmic Rays detection testing.
The testing was conducted at the flight cruising altitude. ~10,000m (30,000ft)
The dose rate on the radiacode is better bc its's energy compensated!
I have a radiacode 102 and it's my best peice or dosimetry equipment, but I would also love to have a gmc-600+! :)
Can radiocode measure alpha radiation ?
@@LivingTheDream77 Nope, just gamma, xray, and neutrons. :)
@LivingTheDream77 GMC can't measure alpha radiation either, only indicate its presence.
@@Nuclear_Legacythe manufacturer claims that it can measure alpha radiation.
@@LivingTheDream77 This is not true, measurement is done in units that can be compared, cpm cannot be compared. Cpm cannot even be translated normally, because many parameters such as hardness and registration efficiency are not taken into account.
In professional instruments the measurement is in other units, and the error for each isotope is written, and usually it is very large.
GQ GMC 600+ the best geiger counter!
Hell no, raysid is better, 103g is best
so inaccurate the tube is garbage
