Irish folk songs and English are are the precursors to American country music love them all keep the heel tapping and toe tapping coming
American country music is just that! Irish music Is Irish without comparison of your mere statement.
You turned the reel into a bluegrass tune with that boom chuck rythem
My son likes the Wiggles. They do version of Silver Speer that's very good. Wanted to learn the lick for my own guitar playing. You're my favorite version by far. You rip it up my friend! Pleasure to listen to.
Dat Silver Knight Spear.
I’m grinning ear to ear
I'm so glad I came across your window.

Very uplifting. Thanks :-)
Thank You so!!!! this is Awesome and encouraged me and Alot of others to continue to learn and to become better players !!
Hey, that's great news Russ, that's the good thing about folk music, the sharing aspect
Thank you very much, it is a pleasure to play along on flute :)

Haven't checked yet but I hope you have a tutorial on this. I learned this song a while back and i don't like how that version came out but I like your variations you added this.
Taran, I haven't done a tutorial on this one yet, but now you have given me the idea, I will see if I can put something together.
I'd second that a tutorial on this would be absolutely incredible! Thanks for the inspiration
This is awesome! I've been playing violin for fourteen years and I swear this is the most fun type of music to play! I'm going to try and learn this by ear later on, but I was just curious about the backing track. Did you record it yourself? It seems to match perfectly to the song and I was wondering if it was available for download anywhere.
Thanks,
Alex
+Alexander Arduini Yes, I record my own backing tracks. I will upload it in a few days so you can use it to play along. Have fun..
Thank you!
Christina Bracco
Best rendition on YT.
🇮🇪🇮🇪excellent .
I've also heard it called Silver Sphere and also Silver Spire...
Me too. Silver Spire.
Silver spear and silver spier are very different tunes!
Wonderful! Do you make your own backing tracks?
I do indeed, play all of the various instruments, that's half the fun
I've always been very curious as to why many microphones have that odd looking cage around them.
Well played on the tune!
A quote from a manufacturers blurb, "Elastic Suspension the ultimate answer isolates against floor borne noise"
So basically, it is meant to stop any floor vibration travelling up the microphone stand and through the mic onto the recording. Quite tricky with me stamping my foot, haha
@@peakfiddlerAh! Thanks, that is good to know.
Can I ask what recording set up you have? Are you recording into Audacity or so other program? I've been reluctant to get involved in all of that as it looks more complicated than just playing my fiddle.
I use a program called Reaper. I will make a video over the holiday
How to play the silver spear with as few notes and embellishments as possible
