@@rileyhenderson745 it definitely isn't for everyone, it seems easier to be fond of pool if you start off on snooker, than it is to go the other way. I like pool a lot, but I grew up with snooker so my head and heart always default to that. That's probably why the 'tight pockets' line made me chuckle, as the 9-ball pockets are absolutely enormous.
@@scottfrost8956 I remember him playing it with a snooker cue, a nothing-break shot, not really knowing the rules and having not practiced it, yeah. And he still won some matches as I recall (lost more though!). He didn't show the game the same respect and rightly got beat by the top guys in it. Fair play. Doesn't seem to happen the other way round... But I flat out don't believe anyone who has played both games would ever believe the pocket sizes are 'all relative' - if you had to make a ball with your life depending on it and you were given the choice between an American Pool and a Snooker table, would you honestly say it didn't make a difference? Nope, you'd take the one we all know will accept a ball that has hit a cushion halfway along and is running away from the pocket and still drops 😂 come on, seriously.
@@joulupukki1607 very best where? world rankings he's not in the top 20 lol, mosconi his winning record is nothing special, about average. even 9 ball in the US alone he isnt that great
Everybody knows that the 2-rail kickshot on the 7 ball on the 3rd rack was fluke right? Coz Jayson was playing for a 3-rail kick towards the side pocket. Nevertheless, Shaw is an incredible pool player.
The 'safety play' in the 5th rack is atrocious... Commentator says "He played a good safety..." then he gets down and pots it, as he can see the whole thing... Is the commentary angle really that bad?
i wish the commentators would just stop talking when the players begin to speak. I want to hear what they say when they make or miss a shot, not the commentators yelling over what their excuse or whatever was "WOW I CANT BELIEVE HE MISSED IT!" Yeah, me neither, but the professionals were in the middle of saying something and now I've missed it :/
I think this is a good format to have microphones on the players. New players could learn a lot of how a pro thinks. The scotch double game encourages it. Very cool.
Apologies for any bad language? Everyone swears even kids do stop pretending to be perfect or living in a pink world and making players look impolite you’re living in earth and playing pool not sitting in a music theater
These commentators bro, for real, so bias. I'd love to see an European commentating the very same match. cause what the hell is this, always "trash talking"
I love being able to listen to the players' chatter! That definitely adds some fun to something I already enjoy regardless. :)
Every time they describe them as "Very tight pockets..." - as a snooker fan - it just makes smile.
Yea and as someone that enjoys watching sports, snooker is like watching paint dry

All relative, these pool balls are twice the size. You do realize Ronnie O’Sullivan tried his luck in American Pool and flopped right?

the irony of woodward telling thorpe how to hit a ball then the next shot not eve hitting the object ball lol
U act like woodward isnt one of the very best

Wouldn't have had that issue if thorpe would have hit the ball correctly the first time and not left him a sliver shot.
Woodward and Thorpe have this slight bromance where they just work so well together. Great team.
Shaws stroke is incredible. One of the best ball potters I have seen.
Man that game 4 was crazy.
Though I appreciate the coverage these videos have too many adverts and really spoils the viewing
Skyler is my favorite US player

Billy played incredible why isn't he on the mosconi team anymore??
Why is there a video on these ads? I only came here to watch the ads.
What happened to we're going to be quiet so you can hear the players talk to each other?
I wish they changed it back to when the race was to 6
Correct me if I’m wrong, but on Jason Shaws one ball jump shot, he was the player to push out so shouldn’t it have been Alcaide’s shot? Just curious.
The push out not considered a shot when your opponent gives it to you back
@@Ahmedadel1992. thank you very much.
it returns back to the player
39:21 Jason Shaw is left handed....
He was always left handed watch all his matches he's a left handed player so is Joshua and Hatch
But you maybe was sarcastic?

JAYSON SHAW❤️
When the seven got kicked off table, wouldn't one normally spot that ball? Nothing was made. I don't get that.

Brilliant comment. That's right.
I disagree I don't think the players want to be mic'd up at all.
They are human
The commentators talking over the players is INFURIATING! they paddle on about what could be shot while the players are discussing it!!!
