I've been using this program for nearly 30 years. I started all the way back on Windows 3.11, continued using it through all the versions of Windows up until Windows 7. I've been using the Linux version (Double Commander) when I switched to FreeBSD, and am now using Total Commander on Android. When ever I work on other people's computers, I install this program. Can't imagine not having it in my arsenal. Long live Total Commander!
Same here. Started with Norton Commander on DOS, followed by a brief stint of Volkov Commander, then moved on Windows/Total Commander on Windows. Goes everywhere with me. I probably ended up buying it multiple times over years.
Great video on a classic tool that still to this day indeed is powerfull and effective! Thanks for taking your time. One question that has buggered me, maybe you can help?. When inside a folder with 500 of other folders, page down the folder list 2 times so your are around 100 down the list of folders - now if I enter one of the folders in the top of the list shown on screen (which is 100 down the list of 500 folders) and then going back out of that folder, the screen position moves, and your "curser / marked folder line" is now down in the buttom of the screen ? (you enter a folder positioned in top position of your list, but when boing out of the folder, the list and position has moved alot downwards) This wasnt like that in som eearlier versions, its quite anoying when browsing in and out of longer folder list.
i just downloaded this program and immediately 2 things bugged me. is there a way to disable 1 second hold right click? and is there a way to sort the contents of a folder (images, audio, video) by things like frame height, width, total bitrate, etc?
@@SoundPeaks thanks a lot for taking the time. it seems even under custom columns, options are pretty limited. it's weird for such a detailed and highly customizable program.
@@gareth6517 The right click hold (1 second) is useful because an immediate right click highlights the file(s) for an operation. So you get two uses out of right click button and since you rarely right click in TC it makes sense. As for options, you don't know enough about the program, there's so many customizable options it's pathetic. I'm sure you didn't find the GOBS of customizations lists (it's pretty hidden).

At 10:50 minutes, download a youtube video is not working for me, I confuse about it. How to set up “RUclips-dl” at “C:\Progam Files (x86)\php\youtube-dl.exe”?
Hi, I placed youtube-dl into my php directory because my PHP direcory is in PATH, google this. PATH folders lets you call exe files that are in it by direct call without its path. So I can use >php or >youtube-dl anywhere in my system without path to its executable

He is using the mouse a lot, because he made a custom toolbar, but normally you use Total Commander for the keyboard commands, you decrease the need of the mouse, this increases productivity and speed for professionals. I develop websites, and I manage a lot of files of any kind, i search in files and use synchronization a lot, only drunken noobs would go back to the "windows" chaos.

My experience exactly! Previously, I used LapLink, very similar, two panels. I am not a fan of File Explorer.

it's trickier, go to configuration > Misc. > select a shortcut such as you wish (for me it is Shift + C) > add command "cm_CopyFullNamesToClip"

On main upper toolbar you can either click on "Mark" then choose Copy filenames to clipboard, or, create a toolbar button and simply click it.
