- Mick Lynch of the rail union the RMT told Sky's Kay Burley in a challenging interview, that the union wants a deal, but that action "may develop over the summer".
Mr Lynch said the British worker needs a "square deal" and that more strike action in other industries was "inevitable".

That is some of the worst questioning I've seen on a news report! Kate Burley could be facing redundancy soon to let someone that can interview a chance to show their skills. Hats off to Mr Lynch for handling this situation so well!
I couldn't agree more, her behaviour was outrageous. If a male interviewer had spoken to a female union member like this, they would be disciplined. It is not her place to negotiate employment terms and conditions. Who does she think she is? Out of her depth.
It’s a bit deeper than that Mick Lynch has single handedly alliterated every media journalist he has been interviewed by, over the last few days. He’s right up there with Bob Crowe for me
Na she will be of to Gb news on a fat pay packet like the others at sky itvand the bbc

Delusional, just like amber heard
It's hard to believe an allegedly professional reporter was allowed to be so blatantly biased and hostile; no trace of neutrality in investigating the story further, just apportioning blame on those who want to keep both the railways and their jobs safe.
Utterly disgraceful.
She's an absolute disgraceful woman
Sky News isn't about reporting the facts, it's about entertainment. Fox News lite essentially.
100% true. She was trying so hard to bait him and wanted him to say "we will resort to violence."
I like how she got angry when he called her out on exactly that, it was so unprofessional and one sided. The politicians and a lot of the press don’t seem to have picked up the public mood.
"I am older than I look" - That really is not true Kay !
This dude has obliterated all media that's he's been in front of. I hope that this is the moment in time that the rest of society start understand what's actually going on in the world and how it works. 👏👏👏👏

I was against the RMT thinking ‘greedy ba*ts’ but have since done a 180. I now realise they are taking the initiative and making the first step for the rest of us. Far too long has corporate profit travelled upwards instead of being distributed down. So good on them and the rest of the unions.

One of the worst displays of journalism I have seen on this channel. The news is meant to be impartial. Good on Mick Lynch for standing his ground.
This interview was fantastic for getting people on the side of the strikers, and reconfirming how shambolic, vile, corrupt, and incompetent most modern journalism is.

I have never seen a worse interview. When did Kate Burley start thinking she was working for Line Of Duty?
I have never seen an interviewer be so rude, disrespectful, biased and hostile. She so clearly has an agenda. She accuses Mr Lynch of name calling when he didn't, she implies that he is ridiculing her when Mr Lynch's answers remain sensible (even though the tone of her questions is indeed ridiculous), she implies picket lines are necessarily violent and thuggish when clearly they are not, she claims to be clarifying the situation when she is obviously trying her best to mischaracterise the situation to the detriment of the railway workers.
Sky should be ashamed of this clip, not putting it on RUclips.
Does this show how ridiculously biased the mainstream media's coverage of this industrial dispute is, or is it just Sky News?
Shocking.
No matter how many journalists have tried tripping him up, Mick Lynch has torn them all to shreds. This is our best and most clued up GS we have had since Bob Crow. He has schooled every media outlet he has been "interviewed" by. I say interviewed but they've all turned it into interegating.
He is extremely clever and competent at his job. So he already has one up one every member of this government and every client journalist attempting to interrogate him whilst simultaneously spouting the Downing Street talking points at him.
I agree and he's on the right side of history no stopping Mick Lynch and the RMT. If only we had politicians of the same calibre! What a ledge!
@@sboubalouta Right side of history indeed regardless of the outcome. He will be vindicated for doing what a trade union leader should do.
Seriously?! That's not an interview, that's an attack! The bias in her questions is so clear even a fool can see whose side she's on The interviewer should be sacked. Outrageous!
He made her look so unprofessional. This is what happens when journalists get used to interviewing lightweights: as soon as they come up against someone who knows their onions, they're flailing.

Burley going full Partridge in that interview, really laying it on thick with her emotive questioning, false representation of the British public and getting her arse handed to her in the process. I think she'll find most of the public are fed up with the upward flow of wealth and spiralling cost of living, and are quite supportive of the RMT for being the vanguard of public action.
Yes, how dare she speak on behalf of the UK public. I'm all right Jack, pull the ladder up. She should ask the important questions, how do we feed our family? how do we pay for petrol? how do we pay for heating and electricity?
Kay Burley was trying to maintain her " tough interviewing " stance with guests - as she's used to swerve of answers and avoidance.

I'm seeing Chili peppers in London tomorrow and i've dreamt of this day since I was 4 years old and now there's a train strike which, as frustrating as it is for me, I fully and 100% support! Screw greedy bosses and the government siphoning money to their mate from RPI fare increases. My travel card goes up in price every year with NO improvement to the service at all let alone the rights of workers that keep it operating. Sky news/Kay Burley desperate to paint a narrative that doesn't exist. Absolutely shameful!
She's a disgrace, I work for a construction company, being on the same money for over 15yrs. Most of our work is on London Underground and I can't work because of the strike, I lose real money. I'm not a member of a union either but I do support them. Enough is enough, the tories have cut everything, austerity for ten years, now this new cost of living crisis. Everything a state should provide for its citizens is lacking, nhs run into the ground, schools, roads, while they give each other gifts of 50000 pound wall paper for a flat that they would only live in for a few years, the billions squandered on covid, the duplicity of how they have dealt with Ireland, a country that has been utterly ravished by Britain over the centuries, for the government to behave like this towards the Irish is sinful after the history of the two nation.

As far as I se it from the outside, these two are showcasing together the situation. She pretends to be the representative of 'the people', but in fact she is wording the position of het government the tries to stay out of the conflict. Her channel and the British media in general are obfuscating the position of the workers, and in this way she gives him the opportunity to lay out their position for the audience. They are both in a play, and they know it: at the end she can't keep her laughter down. At no other channel I have seen the position of the workers so well explained: finally it all makes sense, apart from the fact that the tory government is trying to eradicate the unions, but in a much more stupid way than Thatcher did. This government is running the UK into the ground, and try to maximise their profits as long as they can hold their position. He is a self serving loony of the left, more interested in feathering his own pockets with the ludicrous salary paid to him by the RMT membership....another of Putins Poodles..........
mick lynch is a legend. your reporter is aggressively trying to get an answer when she's not listening to the answers she is given.
Fair play sir. That interviewer was a knob head
What an embarrassing report, continual attack after attack, what happened to impartiality? disgusting!! Mick Lynch absolute class telling the truth and exactly how it is.
Well done, Mick Lynch! As a daily rail commuter for work; solidarity with your struggle!

5:21. Amazing..she has one hell of an attitude from an unbiased media….
well done mr Lynch tell them how it is and calling out the lies
I do love the 'not to my satisfaction' line. Yeah that's what sky are so good at... holding people to account! What a joke and up the union.
Working class London union bosses are so good at dealing with the bs from the msm. Mick Lynch destroyed Kay's disingenuous line of questioning! Bravo sir!
Enjoy being Marxist & broke
These strikes are against the working class.
@Frank Swimbladder Shut it, old man.
He's a tin pot marxist and lives for a strike.
I can't imagine a more striking representation of class warfare, and who is the "invading" side, than this interview.
Why is she so rude? Mick is answering all her questions in a polite and articulate way.
Because she's just media skirt (past her prime by my judgement). She's trying to stay relevant before she's replaced by another pretty face.
Trying to rile him up to make him look bad, but failing spectacularly
Your not sorry the general public are struggling with the cost of living crisis millions of people not just rail staff its a disgrace
That Guy completely out classed Kay Burley
She’s trying to belittle him talking down to him and he is talking very calmly and professionally.. Is this what they call professional journalism.. I don’t think so.
