Great video Andy. Having worked in Pluckley for 4 years I can say I've experienced a few creepy things in my time. I once stayed in an old house just down the road from where you were (my bosses rental property). 3am in the morning got woken up by the front door slamming. It was a calm night, no wind and the door was locked from the inside!
Thanks Ben.. Its certainly a place with a lot to tell, a very nice village though.. Id probably have felt a bit different if I was alone in those woods haha
This comment is a bit late. But if the door was still locked when you investigated it you could have experienced something known as exploding head syndrome. I have several times,. People experience hearing a door slamming, a gunshot, an explosion or other loud sounds. Can happen right as you're falling asleep or just waking up.
I spent years camping at Pluckley every weekend throughout the summer and autumn, fishing at the old brickworks. Heard many strange noises and definitely heard the screaming. The old buildings were pretty spooky we used to walk around them at night, but there was a fire there and they were destroyed.
Just watched this and enjoyed it, even the scream at the end... Glad there are others with similar macabre interests. In fact I used to wander around cemeteries late at night and there was one moonless night when I got into a spot of bother. I had been wandering around in the dark for some time when I fell into a freshly dug grave. It was simply too dark and I was a bit careless. I am not too tall and 6' is over my head so try as I might, all my scrambling was to no avail and I finally just sat down in the corner of the grave to wait until morning. An hour later, there's a sudden commotion and it seems someone else with the same hobby had fallen into the same grave as me. I saw him scrambling at the earth trying to climb out, like I had done. And he was failing, like I had too. So after 2 minutes of this I decided to just tell him it was useless and I got up, reached out and tapped him on the shoulder and said quietly 'You can't leave this place, my friend...' I've never seen someone jump so high out of a hole before or since. ... ;-) Seriously though, thanks for your videos - they're keeping us all a little less mad during these difficult times. Best wishes from Penang, Malaysia.
I loved this!!! The video was perfect with the story telling, pumpkin carving and that fake bloody hand. The dance at the end was great. Thanks for the smiles

Really fun video Andy, great you made another Halloween special! I stopped off at a local woods on my way home from work a couple of weeks ago to do some nocturnal chestnut gathering. A bit weird I know, but I figured I'd beat anyone else looking.... or at least beat the squirrels! It's 2 o'clock in the morning and the yowling of foxes and the screeching of peacocks at the nearby nature reserve are already jangling my nerves. Suddenly as I'm walking through a dense coppice, not ten feet away, there is a pair of glowing eyes, about head height, looking right at me! Fortunately, having my heart leap into my throat prevented me from screaming like a little girl. So ok, it turned out to be a deer. But the really freaky thing was, this full grown buck, with a nut full of antlers, just stood there and looked at me, as still as a statue. Even as I backed away it just stood there...watching. That was about enough for me so I called it a night. I admit to my shame that I was constantly checking my six o'clock all the way back to the car in case I was being stalked.......by a bleedin' deer!
I camped in a field in Newhaven next to an old graveyard once because the farmer had given me permission to longnet for rabbits. We caught a few and then got into our bivvy bags for the night. About three a.m. I heard this 'tap = tap = tap' coming from the old graveyard and it was getting on my nerves, a bit like a dripping tap effect! I got out of the bivvy and looked over the graveyard wall, and saw an old man crouched in front of a gravestone with a hammer and chisel tapping away at the inscription on the gravestone! I shouted 'oi what the hell are you doing? you're getting on my tits now, it's three o'clock in the morning mate'! He just looked at me and said 'Well, they spelled me name wrong didn't they'? It always amazes me just how quickly we managed to grab our string of rabbits and get back to the car! I often wonder if that bivvy is still in that field? I told my grandson that one and he told his mates as they sat around the campfire when they were away camping with the army cadets. Apparently one of the younger lads wanted to go home and the sergeant had to calm him down and bollock the others for putting the shits up him! :-D
@@KentSurvival@ Ghosts DO NOT exist mate, I was talking about this to my granddad the other night and he should know if anybody does, because he's been dead over fifty years now, and he say's he's never seen one! Loved your vid mate, as I do with all your stuff, and I always look forward to the next one! I was camping in in Granada in Spain ten years ago and decided to visit a mountain town called Orgiva in the Alpujarras mountains, I took the bus from the Granada bus station and off I went. I had a good day, got pissed with a few locals I met and ended up eating fried chicken feet and other local tapas along with them , all in all, a good day out. Until, I went to get the bus back down the mountain to Granada city, being pissed I forgot that the traffic drives on the oppsites side to the U.K. and consequently jumped on bus going further up the mountains! Eventually I got to a little village and the driver told me that was as far as he went and he was off duty from there on! There was no bar or anywhere to stay the night, the bus stop itself was too open to the elements to stay there all night so I wandered around looking for somewhere to doss down for the night! Anyway, I had my day bag with me and managed to get a small fire going and spent a crap night napping and waking up every so often to feed the fire, it was the longest night of my life and I was glad to see the morning eventually arrive! I had a wash in the village fountain and caught the early bus back to Granada at ocho { eight o'clock }! The driver was a nice geezer who'd actually been a bus driver in Coventry for ten years and spoke perfect English and after telling him of my night in the barn he gave me one of his cheese and chorizo rolls for my breakfast, believe me mate, it was delicious after a night spent with a rumbling stomach! The bus station is about 4 or 5 hundred metres from the city campsite in Granada and I was soon back there after having tomatoes on toast with a drizzle of olive oil and two large coffees at the bus station cafeteria ! It's a good place to camp if you book early enough and only a short local bus ride from the Alhambra and the cave houses, the bars around that area do some lovely tapas and the gypsy quarter is well worth a visit! Sorry to go on, but I thought I'd share that little adventure with you! I never told my wife about it until I got back home because she tends to worry about me, bless her! :-D I won't tell you what my two daughters said, but it involved being sixty not sixteen and growing up for god's sake etc! :-D I don't see the sense in growing old gracefully, I'm happier growing old disgracefully, it's much more fun! :-D

Pluckley isnt anywhere near as haunted as people like to believe it is. But myths seem to spring up as it was a popular haloween destination for kids when i was at school. Its a lovely little village all the same. I used to live one train stop over in ashford. Great location as it was surrounded by country and villages no matter what one train hop either side you took. Wye is another great place. If you ever decide to camp up there stop off at the tickle trout pub just next to the train station. The beer is expensive but its worth a pint for the beer garden alone
Thanks mate, yeah, ive been to wye actually, had a look around an abandoned (horticultural I think) school there a while back. Its a nice area for sure :)
Thanks Dave.. That was my favourite bit too.. I did contemplate making it 2 videos and making the history a bit longer but decided on the one in the end :)
Strange.. I have driven through Pluckley tens of times and didn't know at all how haunted this place is.. I have driven through it a night and always felt a strange feeling near the village. On those lanes leading upto it and beyond.. Really interesting.. Thanks for the vid. Spooky for sure.
I've camped there countless times, graveyard, in the woods and the only place we experienced something was at the brickwork lake when we night fished. Wonderful medieval floor tiles.. great video. However I challenge the claim.... i reckon my local woods at at Clapham , West Sussex are also spooky lol atb..
I was dogging at the side of pluckly wood when i saw strange lights in the wood that looked like torches lol on the same night you were there coinsidence or what
Sorry Mick we didn't know it was you with your clothes off, have you always had that mole on yer bum? My brother went to the doctor with a mole on the end of his willy, he asked the doctor if he could do anything about it? The doctor said 'oh yes, I can do something about it alright'! He phoned the R.S.P.C.A. and reported him,! My brother is up in court next month!
Great video lads... I once spent a weekend camping near Pendle Hill... another over-rated supposedly haunted location where if you look at the history it just doesn't make sense lol.
I believe the highwayman was hanged in another woods which has since all been cut down. I used to deliver bread around that area and always felt something was near when I went by the pub and into the village stores. It’s a lovely place and an enjoyable vlog. I know this is like a year old but when Andy starts to eat the pumpkin soup if you look at the top right corner between the trees it looks like theres a face watching them
Nice vid! FWIW, the woods on the other side of the road are available for camping with permission (Woodsman Kent Wild Camping). Still untamed woods with no facilities whatsoever, but one less thing to worry about.
Loved the video. People believe what they want to believe, and when people want to believe something happens, it can turn into mass belief. The foxes their selves would be enough to scare most people because they would not know what they were. Love the pumpkin carving. :)

I dont know what TGF is. I stumbled upon this vid and really enjoyed the ride. Thanks for sharing. Your dance moves were a little off putting tho haha kidding. Really enjoyed. Thanks
Tgf is another RUclips channel

TGF is another youtube channel who also came to the screaming woods and experienced some scary stuff.
great history camp vid 😊
just dig that packed up camp boogie at the end! 😂😂😂
Thanks Geoff lol, ive got the moves :p
Kent Survival you are soooo right! lol 😂
That genuinely made the hairs on my neck stand..nothing better than a ghost story!
:D thank you, im glad you enjoyed it
Was literally just thinking I haven’t seen a Kent survival video in awhile, then boom new notification! Great stuff can’t wait. Spooky
Hello there I usually watch many quality paranormal RUclips sites,
I came across yours because I had some time and I'm interested in Pluckley it's just nice to see you guys relaxing and enjoying your cooking and enjoying nature, would you ever consider visiting more haunted or spooky places with a backdrop of history added in? 🤔 💚💜🌟
Looks like you had a great time. Thanks for taking us with you. I really enjoy your videos.
Thank you :) Glad you're enjoying them, it was a great camp... we picked a super little flat spot
Wonderful medieval floor tiles.. great video. However I challenge the claim.... i reckon my local woods at at Clapham , West Sussex are also spooky lol atb..
Hhhmmm half way through and its turned into the cooking channel. Where is ghost video? Lol
Great video Andy...love the ' do you want a hand with that!
Somehow Andy finds the dogging woods whilst looking for "ghosts"
Almost what I was thinking
haha, purely by 'accident' ;) It was an old trailer in the end, not a car :p
I was dogging at the side of pluckly wood when i saw strange lights in the wood that looked like torches lol on the same night you were there coinsidence or what
😂😂😂
mickd6942 why the fuck do people do dogging? so weird
@@elliejoanxx2333 lol
Sorry Mick we didn't know it was you with your clothes off, have you always had that mole on yer bum? My brother went to the doctor with a mole on the end of his willy, he asked the doctor if he could do anything about it? The doctor said 'oh yes, I can do something about it alright'! He phoned the R.S.P.C.A. and reported him,! My brother is up in court next month!
Cool guys, some nice photography too.
I love this soo much! Have you done any more camping adventures at haunted woods/locations? I would love to see more! ☺️
Brilliant vid mate, don't think I'd be that concerned about ghosts if I was out with Tomoutdoors, he's a F@@king unit 🤣🤣
Very entertaining, many thanks bro, keep safe..... Jack.
Great video lads... I once spent a weekend camping near Pendle Hill... another over-rated supposedly haunted location where if you look at the history it just doesn't make sense lol.
Cheers :) yeah, there a few of these that don't add up lol but all a bit of fun :p
Quite a lovely Jack O' Lantern! Any body who was frightened would really 'lose it' crashing through that tangle of understory.
Thanks James :) Though it felt inadequate next to toms big ones lol, he's got the muscles to carry them though :)
Fun stuff. Spooky season is the best and perfect camping weather
Mmm, pumpkin soup at night in a haunted wood just before Samhain. Sounds perfect.
Thanks :)... that soup was actually brilliant haha ATB
Thanks for taking us along on your "uneventful" Halloween overnight in the screaming woods!
haha, Ill return with my trail camera and tape recorder next time.. ill get 'em :p Thanks Wendy
I believe the highwayman was hanged in another woods which has since all been cut down. I used to deliver bread around that area and always felt something was near when I went by the pub and into the village stores. It’s a lovely place and an enjoyable vlog. I’ll be subscribing as lived a lot of my life in Kent as a Kentish man 👨🦲
Wow! U are very BRAVE to explore Pluckley late at night. How i really wish that ALL men are very brave like u! I am so glad that nothing happened to u while u were there 👍 thank u so much for sharing with us your spooky experience there in Pluckley. Honestly your pumpkin very cute
there is a great moment and a little scary, greeting from Malaysia Family wild camping survival with my 3 years old daughter
You can thank TGF for the extra views haha

Loved the background history of where you were camping out.
First video I’ve watched of yours. Sooo informative 👌🏻💯 lovely personality too☺️ you got a new sub x
Hi Tegan, thank you very much and welcome to the channel
i lived closeish to pluckley village when i lived in kent. i liked the village.i subscribed
interesting vid like the local history i live in alresford where we have the watercress railwayit was local watercress grown here and sent by rail to london we have a watercress festival the first weekend in june with stalls in the high street and intertainment the steam railway whicth runs from alresford to altonand back 12miles my familly still grow and sell watercress its a lovely day out and plenty of places to eatand four pubs and a local camping area i hate that blair whitch film creeps me out nice pumpkinsim going to try out the soup
We have an invisible ghost in our house too. Every week large amounts of cider mysteriously vanish!
Seems a bit suss
@@robertomh8065 The odd thing about it is at the same time I suffer geadaches and memory loss
I keep coming back to this video 😲
I had seen another RUclipsr doing a camp there and wondered if you had done one...ran across this by accident. Thanks for the info
Hahaha - I can’t believe Tom lugged those two pumpkins in!!! Really enjoyed that mate - looks like a nice wood, great stories too about the wood and the village. Love the dog bowl hack - I’ll have to pinch Maggies! Cheers matey!
Yeah, I wimped with the tiny one haha, cheers. its a great place to visit..... poor Maggie lol (it does work well though)
Nice one again Andy. We have a few old gems hidden away in the woods locally.....but I won't go down alone ...lol! Well, not in the dark anyway..!
Theres a reason I didn't do this alone! lol ;)
Anyone october 2019
I have been to England once, and I like your lovely accent.
Yet again had to keep me eyes glued to the screen. I liked the story telling in this one, great video can't wait for the next one already! Keep it up andy always fun to see content being put up :)!
Thank you very much :) glad to hear you enjoyed that part.. was my favourite bit.. so much there to talk about
I know this is like a year old but when Andy starts to eat the pumpkin soup if you look at the top right corner between the trees it looks like theres a face watching them
First few seconds and I'm already dead from heart attack!
Good food...good scenery and a good personality..good job
Very nice try with that jumpscare at the end 😂 i think it would've had me if i were more alert
Nice vid! FWIW, the woods on the other side of the road are available for camping with permission (Woodsman Kent Wild Camping). Still untamed woods with no facilities whatsoever, but one less thing to worry about.
This is a really great watch. Thanks :)
Loved the video. People believe what they want to believe, and when people want to believe something happens, it can turn into mass belief. The foxes their selves would be enough to scare most people because they would not know what they were. Love the pumpkin carving. :)
I loved your 2018 Halloween video. I really enjoy watching you cook with your gadgets. I give you a huge thumbs up!
Loved the humor. Thanks for the video!
The story telling at the beginning was awesome. I could listen to you all dag talking.
Do you like dags?
i love halloween...this was a fun watch,,,great job andy
lol this just reminded of when i camped in these woods for 4 days with just an army poncho an sleeping bag when i was 16, didn't see a thing.
cool :) they are pretty peaceful woods, really liked it there, thanks for watching
This was awesome Andy, watched Tom's version the other day so was good to see yours. You've got a good narrating voice mate. Thanks for sharing. Take care
Thanks Nick.. I hate my voice lol, but thats certainly good to hear.. maybe I should put a little more 'feeling' into it though :p ill do some evening acting courses haha
22:08 I know that's foxes. However it's still disturbing to listen to.
i live in Salem Massachusetts the witch city...many hunted places here as well...and halloween time here is an absolutely crazy city what with the costumes and tourist...myself and some of my friends have seen some things we can;t explain while drinking at night in the olde salem burial ground,,,some the hanged witches of salem 1693 trials are here......so i love a good historic spooky story thz for posting
oh wow, thats cool, Id love to get the chance to visit one day.. yeah, I bet its mad at halloween haha, thanks for watching Bryan
Seems like the perfect setting to use an Aztec death whistle each time you hear voices in the woods... 😁
HAppy HAlloween All - Great intro and info on the Village, looks like a lovely place to visit. That woodland is just like camp 2 overgrown and not looked after. Did you find out what the car was about Doggers maybe. Thanks for sharing Andy. Trev
cheers Trev, is a great area :) It turned out not to be a car, saw in the morning that it was a forestry trailer haha
@@KentSurvival brilliant, I love walking around int he woods at night, great perspective on the normal daytime. Can see why our ancestors got spooked
Great video, now I need to try that soup though!
Just subscribed what a fantastic channel mate love all your vids
