Amira taught herself to sing like that from watching videos on RUclips, and she won that season of Holland's Got Talent. She is currently 16 yrs old, attending high school in South Africa.

Much later but listen to her Amazing Grace at the age of 13 singing at the 2017 Classics is Groot (Classis is Great) in South Africa. The whole performance is spectacular and her voice is superb.

I loved watching your reaction. You look like I felt listening to her the first time. She is amazing and has gotten even better since then, which is hard to believe, but true.
You ought to hear Amira's NEXT song in that competition. "Ave Maria".
And then "Nessun Dorma" after that for her finale performance.
There are many talented children in the world, but there are an elite few that are just a cut above all the others. Amira is one of those that defies description. She sang the same song with the Dutch National Orchestra about 6 months later when she was 10. There were thousands of people there and many were in tears after that performance. Conductor Andre Rieu gave her a "Bravo" which was deserved. I know of at least 2 other children who may be in her class of talent. One is young Jacob Velazquez from Florida. He just turned 13 and is a master pianist, accomplished drummer, and in the last 6 months has taken up the guitar, bass, and cello. The other one is 11 year old Taj Farrant from Australia. He is one of the most amazing guitarists in the world.
I meant to mention 2 of Amira’s performances which show her development from this performance to when she was 11 & then at the age of 13. They display the angelic & powerful voice that this amazing singer possesses together with her voice control which is second to none.
The performances are:
1... Ave Maria Gomez. at Canisius Church Nijmegan. aged 11
2... O Mio Babbino Caro plus Your Love at MAX Proms in 2017, aged 13.
Should you be so good as to react to these performances, I can guarantee you will AGAIN be blown away.
Also note that whatever range she is in, she does so EFFORTLESSLY & is never out of breath.
When you consider that this performance was without a single singing lesson, it boggles the mind as to how good she will be when her voice develops over the coming tears.
She’s also a winning distance runner. Could explain her lungs.

he did not care about her background and life story, nor will he even reply to say that he now understands
RUclips or not. One cannot do this at the age especially with opera and hit those high notes.
She is fantastic. Check out her duet with Patrizio Buanne, “O Solo Mio.” She was eleven or twelve in that, I believe. Absolutely amazing! It’s my absolute favorite of her performances.

I still remember the first time I stumbled across this performance when it popped into my recommendations a few years ago. Shock and Awe, indeed! And just like Angelina, another pure soul and good heart to go with the talent.
She has got the golden buzzer. In this show it's called a (golden) ticket straight to the final. Here she performs like an adult, but at the end she really acted as a 9yo child! Very funny to see.
And her performance in the final was 'Nessun Dorma' with a spectacular end.

Hi Soul. It’s been some 5 weeks since this reaction , & as you were so blown away, I think it’s time for another reaction to this once in a lifetime Soprano.
Amira is now 16 ( March 2020) & during the past 7 years , she has performed in ( I believe ) 13 countries & usually to a packed auditorium supported by a full orchestra and backup singers.
The best performances to react on are these full orchestra productions as they give an enhanced euphoric experience due to the incredible atmosphere.

Like those opera singers, she trained for many many years and practiced, we’re born with potential and some talent which need’s to be noted, nurtured, and pursued with dedication and love, she sought out opera songs she liked on RUclips at 5 and then she sought out RUclips opera tutorials now she is in world wide demand as a soprano, astonishing talent different genre

you fast forward through the best part, when the judges were asking her about how she learned to sing.. At the age 7 she wanted to learn to sing because her brother played violin.. She got on you tube and taught herself opera lol. absolutely incredible

Just a little addition to comments... Holland's Got Talent didn't have golden buzzers then, they had a holden ticket-- which she did receive. Amira won that year, too!

She went pro immediately. See her at 14 or 15 looking like a young girl and see a harden veteran walk on the stage.
Why do we get these impossible talents? You roll the dice 100 million times and once you might get a hundred sixes, a once-in-a-century talent, who is also obsessed with their art. You nourish and train and support these unlikely people like Amira. Sometimes, If you are lucky, you achieve the almost impossible. And never forget that the world has smiled on you.

Learning Opera from RUclips WITHOUT any formal lessons at all. She is now a well-known singer on the Opera Circuit in Europe......but her first appearance on this singing contest, shows what was to come.

Amira, Angelina and Alma are my triple AAA SUPER STARS. They're STUNNING, OUT OFF THIS WORLD AMAZING and UNIQUE. THEY'RE the highest level bright lights of the future music world. Of course there are many more awesome talents worldwide, but for me these 3 are the cherries on the cake.

Your reaction was exactly the same as mine when I found that video by chance back in early 2015 while looking for something else on RUclips. It was already late at night but I was up for hours after searching for every other video of her performances!

It looks like there is something changed in the way our planet turns, the magnetic fields or something else that we don't know, but this had an influence on new born children. They are born with a full package of talents that we can imagine. Amira, Angelina, Diana, Dimah and other (sorry if I didn't mention). I have discovered a new world suddenly, I never new that there is something like reactions on RUclips exist, until I click the button ( by mistake ). Now I can say: thanks God for that mistake! I was never interested in music very much, not more than any ordinary person. For me music was something like a nice background while having a coffee with a friend or cleaning the house. My world has changed. I am listening to music for educational purposes, I am taking vocal classes (before I was singing only in the shower), I have noticed I love opera 😮. The world has changed for good and I am sure not only for me.❤

Andre Rieu saw this video. He worked with her for while. Then Anita performed with his choir and orchestra live. It was absolutely beautiful. I believe Anita is the most talented performer to come out of these talent show contests. Check out the Andre reui video.

I have been following Amira for more than four years. She is now 16 and her voice hasn’t change. I have so many to songs to recommend! There are three of my best performances: Ava Maria sung as a semifinalist song in Holland’s got talent

I can see you’re as gobsmacked as myself & literally “millions of others world wide when listening to this truly amazing young Soprano.
As previously mentioned below, she was self taught watching opera singers on uTube which included mouth positioning. She spent an enormous amount of time practicing & her Mum finally allowed her to compete in Holland’s Got Talent.
I presume by your reaction ( which I found fantastic & very sincere ) that you’ll be reacting to many more of Amira’s performances. I have now subscribed to your Chanel.
There are so many listings on uTube, so may I offer you a few suggestions? I may be corrected on her age, but I think I’m correct. Also, I suggest you select her performances accompanied by a full orchestra and backup singers, as this gives the viewer such a wonderful experience.

I have followed her career since she won Holland’s Got Talent & listen to her numerous songs daily.
Her voice is so clear & her voice control is second to none with a vibrato that can take years to develop.
She amazes me with her phenomenal range & her powerful voice & what.also is amazing, it doesn’t matter what range she is in, she does so EFFORTLESSLY & is never out of breath.
Amira is a gift to the world. She is a delightful person & has the angelic voice of an angel.
Don't forget o solo mio with Patrick Buane. And Amira singing Your Love by Ennio Morricone. Amazing Grace with bagpipes.

Amira did get the Golden Buzzer. You stopped the video too soon. She ended up winning Hollands got talent that year and the rest is an ongoing history.
I remember watching this tv show at that time. Next day she was the talk of the town. After the divorce of her parents she moved to South Africa where she is still pursuing a career in classical music.

@@oliviawutam Bullsh...t. Amira is very close to her father. And he is a very nice person. He helped her enormously in the early days. They are a very close family. He plays organ and piano and is back and forth to them in South Africa every year, just as Amira, Fincent her brother, and their mother return to The Netherlands to see him twice a year. He played piano for her on a song on her televised Christmas concert last year, was with the family and fans for the fabulous fan weekend and concert to celebrate the 5 year anniversary of her charity foundation Gelukskinders and all the other concerts. Amira does not do concerts when back in the summer- that's family time for them. Because of covid he could not fly to South Africa as planned for her 16th birthday in March and had to attend her home party via video link. You should not speak ill wrongly like that of him. Amira would not tolerate it.

AMIRA TRIVIA: In taped interviews shortly after the talent show, Amira stated, "I'd rather sing opera than eat chocolate cake!" She also said, "When I grow up, I want to get a "second job" at McDonald's." How cute is that !! 💞

You need to follow up on Amira Williaghagen. Try 'Amazing Grace' in concert at the age of 13, the live version. 'Barcelona' also in concert, the live version. And a truly amazing 'O Solo Mio' when she was 12. She has been likened to Maria Callas.

I live in the same town Amira emerged from ! And was god smacked by her performances ! She learned this by copying sopranos from you tube whose songs she just liked !
She's amazing. Totaly self tought. No voice lessons. When she won Holland's got talent she donated her winnings to a foundation she started to build playgrounds in south Africa for poor children in the townships there. She has raised money for that and built and maintains playgrounds for over 10,,000 children. She allso a good athlete and won two marathons before switching to ice skating because of paparazzi . Shes good frends with the composer Alma Doutscher. Alma Is probably the best child classical protigy composer since Mozart and some say she's better than him. Here is the article from Wikipedia. Amira had singing lessons. before their HGT appearance. At the beginning, before taking singing lessons, Willighagen learned by herself to sing opera arias, using RUclips tutorials. That's how she discovered her talent and passion for music. Even her mother was surprised when she heard her the first time singing. Two of her first public appearances took place in 2012, at the "Music makes Friends" festival in Colmschate (accompanied by her family) and as a solo singer in the Emmaus Children's Choir, singing a Dutch version of the song "Nella Fantasia". After two years of practice and performance improvement, she was ready to participate in the show Holland's Got Talent.. Amira never run a Marathon.

Hi Soul, I commented a couple of weeks ago congratulating you on your reaction style & suggested it was time for another Amira reaction. It surprises & disappoints me that after nearly 2 months, you have not followed up on what you claimed was a “re-incarnation “as there was “ no other explanation “.
Was it all showmanship & tongue in cheek enthusiasm on your part , so as to appease the Amira fans , or to encourage us to subscribe to your Chanel?
This might sound like rather harsh criticism, but to portray such a glowing critique on any performer without any follow-up does not enthuse the public to subscribe, or remain subscribed, to the channels of the Reactors who behave in this fashion.
Unfortunately, you are not the only reactor in this category, & I am calling out all reactors in general to understand that the public expect, & rightly so, a follow up within a reasonable time of those performances that they have been “ blown away with”.
Please take this as constructive criticism & hope to hear more of your reactions to this absolutely magnificent Soprano.
You should watch her perform the same song with Andre Rieu a few years later live at Maastricht, just as powerful but more polished

Although it does not show up in the hacked up video you got stuck with, Gordon (judge on right) called her an old soul and said that he heard Maria Callas in her voice. Reincarnation indeed! I agree with that assessment especially considering the Maria Callas signature Coloratura in Amira's use of vibrato. Over the years she moved beyond that stage and developed her own very musical and delightful high Lyric Soprano voice.

And then, when she started singing you nailed it... "oh, my God". Not from this planet for sure. It sometimes seems that she channels a higher being when she is on stage or that her higher self takes over and reverts to her own language and age when not performing. It almost seems more than just reincarnation. Two souls in one body? A perfect channel for a Divine Being?
I always thought really good child singers were a rare thing until RUclips came into my life. Now I understand that it was only because the technology wasn't out there for these gifted little ones to be heard. You should check out the America's Got Talent auditions of Angelica Hale, Luke Islam and Celine Tam. Also Beau Dermott on Britain's Got Talent. They'll blow your socks off!!
She’s amazing! Check out Jackie Evancho at 10 in 2010. Her performances are all superb but I love Pie Jesu....

I think she started at 8 after seeing the phantom of the opera. There is some serious talent out there 🎶🎵. I enjoy them all.....
Jackie is no where as good as this young lady and I used to follow Jackie. This young lady had no voice training whatsoever but learned it from RUclips and won Holland's Got Talent. She has a natural talent and her voice and singing have gotten even better as the years progress.
Also, you need to watch this entire version with English subtitles. It is wonderful entertainment.
There's hope for the younger generation with the arts. With kids like Amira and the others that you have reacted to (so far), we can be assured that there will be more great performances to come...and you know there's more talented kids out there waiting to be discovered. If you want to hear another amazing song listen to Amira Willighagen en Tim Akkerman - Barcelona - Concert for Charity Ronald McDonald Huis Arnhem. She was 12 or 13 at the time and hit some high notes that even few adult female singers have hit. This song was originally sang by Freddie Mercury from Queen and a famous female opera singer I don't know how to spell her name. I think Amira did as good as the famous singer did.
She got a golden ticket which is the same as a buzzer, now listen to her later stuff, You think this was good, your ears are in for a treat when you do.

this is the story of Amira her family was into classic music her brother played the violin so did he mother and her day playing the piano and accordion so she felt the od one out so she looked on youtube and saw some opry songs and chopped them herself that is how she became a serproino and she is self-taught now you know
