    You should be super proud! You are doing really well.minimalism is a journey not a destination. Your family should do what's best for your family.

      Thank you, we are pretty pleased with how it went, I think zero spending with a young family is very hard but we are at least trying to reduce our outgoings

    On the Christmas buying you could try the idea of the 4 goals. One item for something he wants, something he needs, something he can wear, and something to read or watch. Could go for christmas or his birthday. Would save on so many toys, books, odds and ends. I've been trying to declutter for over a year but hubby keeps bringing in stuff from his dad's house. He passed 3 hrs ago. As far as my stuff I really don't have very much left. Hubby is a different story. He has 3 full out buildings and he's evrn took over the small one i bought for myself. So it's a challenge. I'm enjoying your videos. Tfs.

      I like the idea of the 4 gifts thing and have a few friends who use it but I just can't see me keeping to it!! lol! I love seeing him opening gifts but I am trying to be refrained!
      Glad you like my videos and hope you manage to get hubby to declutter a but too

    If you have not pulled them out in 3 years you don’t need them don’t even look just him them 😊 love these videos.

      Technically I get there and Im sure I will do that with a big portion, but I am now going back to pre baby weight so some will actually fit me and I know there are a few items I adore in there (red, white, blue strip full genuine 1950's skirt!! Praying that fits me again soon!! lol!) So I will just remove the few items I really want to keep and the rest will go. So many I know are no longer my style so I have zero issue letting go of them!

    Remember your minimalism might not be what some other people think but it doesn’t matter what other people think, it is about what you, your husband and child think is minimalist for you.

    • @LifeSorted

      Totally!! I actually have a little video coming up about what minimalism means to me actually

    Meal planning is imperative. I get basics on sale only for my pantry, then rotate my stock. I shop from my pantry and freezer first, consulting the sale ads from the markets, then pick up the extra needed items on sale. An organized home is much more economical . You know what you have and can use it up.

      I know you are completely right!! I think if it was just me and the baby I had to feed it would be fine, my hubby is the picky one and he can be difficult with food, often 'not fancying' what I have or the options I have, or just not being hungry so I don't like to cook a full meal intended for 3 or 4 if he isn't going to eat and it will be wasted. I am trialling something new next week with food and will be talking about it on here later on

    I'm going to have to do the same with our loft, a box at a time. I'm trying to cut down on my spending on my lunches during the week. I always end up buying a sandwich or a wrap from the supermarket rather than using what we already have in the house :-( It's just laziness really! Your eye make up looks really nice Chantelle

    • @LifeSorted
      @LifeSorted  6 лет назад +1

      Thank you! I rarely wear make up to be honest, it was only because we went for a family dinner really! lol! I will have to wear it more! The attic is such a massive job but I know I have to just get started on it. Oh hun you will save a fortune not buying lunch!! I did that when we lived in cardiff, I made a big batch of veggie couscous and took that every day usually, or soup in winter, or just batch make sandwiches or wraps for 3 days at a time, I find they will keep that long but not be great longer really. Honestly, challenge yourself and see how you do

    I recently saw a video where they did, what they called a low spend month which I thought was really smart cause it takes away any stress from spending some money. I don’t care what anyone says, life happens and I think it is almost impossible to have a NO spend month, especially when you have kids.

    • @LifeSorted
      @LifeSorted  6 лет назад

      I love the idea of low-spend! I think I may have to call it that from now on. It is very hard to have no spend with a child, and when you want to educate them and entertain them it usually requires at least some funds.

    don't listen to the comment of "Maxiamilist" you are doing great. not every one is meant to live with an almost empty room. ~blessings. you will get there, where you are comfortable with the amount you have and not feeling stressed about how much you have. :) the one thing i did was i took a picture of things people gave me and put them in an album. and them i did not feel guilty about donating it. i live in a 200 sq ft. so keeping everything just isn't possible. the sentiment is what i keep in my heart. the thing is not necessarily required and my family understands this.

      I was the one that said they were a maximalist but I meant that they USED TO BE and that they have done amazing and I wouldn't think of them as a maximalist anymore.

    • @LifeSorted
      @LifeSorted  6 лет назад +1

      Aww thank you! I couldn't deal with an empty space, its not homely to me! I still want to declutter more but I am getting closer to where I want to be in the long run!

    It was me! I called you a maximalist. It wasn't meant as an insult though =(
    I have been watching your decluttering journey since you posted your first video on your other channel and I must admit I was SHOCKED at how much stuff you had but I was also so AMAZED at how much you did manage to declutter even before your second clothes declutter. I don't think you're a maximalist NOW but I do think that was the case before but that's just me and my opinion on what little I see from your life. Now I think you're a more concious consumer. I hope this makes sense.

    • @LifeSorted
      @LifeSorted  6 лет назад +1

      Oh I didn't take it as an insult hun honestly!! I was just surprised to be called it, but you were quite right really! We did have a lot of stuff!! I am so happy we are cutting back majorly. Ive been very conscious about spending on myself for a long time now, so have bought very little in terms of clothing, but I want to also purchase better quality going forward now so it lasts longer, rather than just buying an item that 'will do for a few months'.

    • @moonireads
      @moonireads 6 лет назад +1

      I totally get the quality thing. My wardrobe is pretty minimal (I think it's under 100 pieces right now) but I have bought A LOT OF CLOTHES recently. Mainly I realized a lot of the things I had didn't fit me anymore and also didn't fit my lifestyle and just life in general. So I had to overhaul it. I also went up and down 4 dress sizes in two years so you can imagine what that does to your closet u.u
      I'm honestly so proud of you and your family because you're doing an amazing job at living the life you want without excess to take away from your experience on this earth. You're doing an amazing job!

    You continue to inspire .e to declutter deeper.
    I've never agreed with the Marie kondo thing if once and done for the very reason you sited!
    I wouldn't call you maximalists now, but neither are you deeply minimalist. One thing I E learned about myself through watching your channel and a couple others is that left to my own devices (I have a husband and 4 kids, 3-17) I could very well be a bare bones kind of minimalist.
    When you sort those clothes in the attic, be ruthless. Baby clothes don't keep well bc they stain terribly easily. 😭

    • @LifeSorted
      @LifeSorted  6 лет назад

      Aww thank you! I am so glad I can inspire others. Yeah there are a few things in her book that I feel just don't work that well unless you are single and living alone, honestly! I will never be completely minimalist in the traditional sense but I can agree with you on the fact that I would have way less if it was just me, I think I could pair back almost every area of my home quite easily, except my clothing if Im honest. I simply enjoy the clothes I have, although I think over time it will get smaller as I buy less stuff and get rid of others due to simply wearing it out, it not fitting or no longer liking it enough to keep it

    I think having a no spend is more to find out what you spend your money on.

    • @LifeSorted
      @LifeSorted  6 лет назад

      Totally, I realise I spend too much on snacks and food, and picking up little stuff when our with Elian. I have been far more conscious recently and started looking second hand for things again to save money
