I tested each setting and found that foliage to medium and shadows to high are the best performance improvements without sacrificing much visual quality. Also people that say “frame generation increases input lag”. This is absolutely false, your input response is based on the base frame rate before FG is enabled. The mismatch of improved smoothness and input response is illusionary.
Frame generation should increase input lag right? instead of showing the newest "real" frame right away it'll calculate an inbetween frame and show that, and only show the real frame after that. So on average the non frame gen game will be showing the newest frame more of the time.

game seems to run better after you've been in a play session for a while. after about 30/60 minutes i realized my frame rate had almost universally gonna up about 5 fps average and had less dips in combat .my recommendation - never stop playing.
its just the start that somehow is super demanding, after you come through the first village your fps goes up by 20-30 fps ish it did for me atleast. 2080 super 3700x 16gb ram
FSR comes at the cost of MASSIVE input lag in this game. It's smoother, but it's like you're inputting your adjustments by mail. The Nvidia, AMD, and GSC all need to do more work to get it better optimized. They did delay the game to get it to a playable state, but more work needs to be done, and they will put in the work. So, it's just a matter of time before we get double-digit improvements in a patch, driver update, or both.
Frame gen is actually great. Just a lot of people simply aren't using it correctly. You need a stable, locked frame rate of whatever you can meet let's say 60. Frame timing of that 60 fps is important. If you can barely reach a stable 60 before frame gen it will not feel great.
Frame Gen is only meant to be used when a game is running at 60+ fps without it. FG is also CPU/VRAM intensive so it only exaggerates the games current issues.
for 60hz recommended is 45 fps for smooth experience,lower not is good. Maybe is all about the HZ of FPS in game,some games not have differences 60fps or 300fps Not is a competitive game
I actually tried it again, and with some tweaking, locking frames to 60 (I have a 120 Hz 4k display) FG takes it to max refresh rate and it's a pretty good experience. I don't know what did it exactly, but likely some mod removed mouse smoothing or fixed input latency in some way.
@@zulqi123 even with 7900xtx it’s still a mess. 4k epic WITH FSR quality and WITH frame gen sure we get 110+ but then convos dip to 80s and such and stutters still there. Frame gen shouldn’t be needed as even though there is high frames it’s still base 60fps+- which has Input lag. Overall yes the 7900xtx is solid but the game needs optimized heavily.
It's quiet frustrating because i jist wanna play and the fps drops down to 12 and it makes it hard to play, also the loadings screen when getting on the games takes like 8min with ridiculous I'm hoping there's away to fix this
locking fps to 60 ingame can help with stutters cause the game ATM is "fixed for 30-60fps" from what i have been told. and i set fps 60 and had very few stutters (just a hint) :D
What about input lag. I stopped using FG because of that lag. I average 72fps.with FSR quality with RX-7700-XT at 1440p high/medium settings. I think I have fog and shadows on medium everything else is high.

FYI, I have constant crashes with FSR 3 enabled (everything is on EPIC, with DLSS). I7 12700, RTX3080, 32GB RAM, latest drivers. A pity, because I get +20-50% performance increase

@@AlmissaGaming Stalker Optimizer, Disable aim assist and FOV set to 120 helps with the weird input lag, the ultra realistic reshade gave me some more frames surprisingly and looks better, Also making stalker 2 high priority in task manager helped, and running on fullscreen windowed. That's just me though results may vary i'm running a 3080ti & i5.
On rx 7700 xt gpu on 1080p medium no upscaling my fps genrally is between 70-85 fps but when i go to this location called zalissya bar the fps drops to 50 with horrible frame time curve and 80% gpu usage
Not there a optiom for increase Vram usage? Some games have it like resident evil remakes,so gain quality visual a lot with using more vram,with not to much lower performance in some cases if u have a lot of Vram,and gaing a lot of quality better than 4k. Like far cry 5 or 6, if you maxed out,the objects will have more detail,like more polygons,and at distances look better,models,trees,houses,and all the objects will looks better and will show other new details not present in 4K native,like more rocks or scrap of the terrain.
I will definitely admit that using DLSS framegen nets me about a 30FPS boost on my RTX4070 laptop ed., taking me from about 60 to 90 under clear weather conditions at 1440p. However myself and other gamers are reporting the issue that about after an hour of play the game tanks and FPS drops to 15. Restarting will fix the issue, but it's very annoying. Just thought I'd share this information for anyone else that does experience this issue and wonders why. For myself, not using any framegen gives me a stable long-term experience, at the cost of all of the benefits OP mentions in his video. I just accepted that I'm going to be playing in the 40-60 range until the devs fix something.
DLSA is good for actual games,FG is when u have 40 ~45FPS recommended or more. But not is for competitive games because is like desync and will miss headshots when move the mouse,but for si singleplayer games is fine But I dont like these technologys of FG or future technology about IA because it ruin the game experience because not much players know how it works,and Nvidia not show that in the box or case of products. frame generation is dogshit, especially if you're not hitting half your refresh rate. hate seeing people shill for it. the reason your framerate barely changes is cuz the devs didnt optimize cpu usage. another thing, its hilarious to me how people forgot how horribly gsc treated their workers throughout the entire stalker trilogy, just cuz they made stalker 2 during the ukrainian war. the entire reason the metro exists is because gsc is a shitty company, its extremely well documented.

I use intel xess or what it was can't remember, it's actually better because it has 77% ultra quality version, fsr has only 66%.

got a 7800xt and i get okay fps, but it looks choppy and not smooth. vsync creates massive input lag which makes the game unplayable.

The only issue is that Frame Gen creates ghosting of the holographics. Any way to avoid this at all, cant find a mod for it
If your monitor has the option, go to display settings and change your monitor's refresh rate from say 60hz to 120hz

the fact that it plays well on a 3090 makes me glad i didnt opt in for the 3080 at the time.

Unreal Engine 5 is the problem. Developers aren't optimizing the engine. Every game built on EU5 will have some sort of gameplay issues.

Maybe your CPU is not stable. Look up intel instability. 13000 and 14000 series are affected, especially higher end parts like yours.
