Thanks for the recommendation Emperor! Idk why I kept saying Julien recommended it 😂
Help out an American from the Northeast (New England). I want to learn as much as I can about the history of other countries so that I can better piece together World History. This always makes it easier for me to have an informed opinion on current events around the world!
Having a diverse perspective is crucial to what I want to achieve here so please don't hold back! I want to learn about all I can! Keep recommending and PLEAESE join my Discord :) ( / discord )

The Army managed to get 8 planes up during the attack...as near as I can tell, 10 Japanese planes were confirmed shot down by 6 of those 8 American planes.
Idk why I kept thanking Julien later in the video for recommending this lol sorry Emperor of Rome
You should be sorry.
A story I read once was from a survivor of the attack.
He said he saw men who worked on a tanker or fuel barge take whatever boat they could find from shore, or swam, to their vessel to get it clear of the other warships in case it exploded.
He said it was the bravest thing he ever saw in the entire war.
It was impossible to block the harbor even with the Nevada perfectly placed to block the maximum amount of the channel. The deep part of the channel for capital ships was at least 2-3 times as wide as the Nevada was long, and any crew would attempt to avoid having their ship turn 90 degrees to block the channel, as the crew of the Nevada did by beaching it.
18:25 Of course saluting is now recognized as being whole military, but initially it was just a gesture to greet and show intentions. So you're good, lol
Also, this is a video where pausing is 100% to be expected. Not sure what people's issue is with pausing/rewinding when it's a discussion/reaction content, especially history.
You should watch his videos on the Battle of the Coral Sea and Midway.
Don't worry. I'll make sure he does.
toranto 1940 royal navy
My father was on the USS salt lake City a heavy cruiser, they part of admiral Halsey fleet he was on the enterprise, they were delivering planes to wake island, they were in pearl December 8
One thing about the bushido mentality that's frequently lost on most casual readers/viewers is that going up against appalling odds is always held in the highest regard. It's not always about the why and never about the outcome as evidenced by the idolisation in Japan of a samurai who both helped establish modern Japan (1860s/1870s) and then rebelled against it.
I recommend Drachinifel's video series on the recovery and repair efforts after the attacks
I remember hearing that the USS Arizona had 50 sets of brothers on board. 😔
I believe we got 11 planes up they were attacking the air fields too
"They would soon feel their rath half a year later" well that's the 6months they wanted the failure was not achieving their other goals with in 6months
Two mistakes were not bombing the fuel storage and the submarines. The Submarine Service would lead the United States Navy in fighting the Japanese during the first months of the war.
