    Whether AI is taking away jobs or no is not a question. Even if it doesn't now, it will in the future.
    The real question is, how far we will let this go.

    • @robertlkiss
      @robertlkiss  4 месяца назад +1

      That is a good question, happened with putting cameras into phones as well people though photographers would be out of jobs. They are still around though, So while yeah jobs will be lost people will specialize, learn and adapt I think.

    Only part I hate about AI Generators is there arrogant use of copyrighted work like its nothing. if all of them use payed art (Photography, Drawings, Paintings, 3d, etc) that was commissioned by them then am completely on board, but they cant do that bcs they need billions of resources and that's just not possible to do legally.
    Even AI models that claim they train there stuff from there own legal database, the base models they use to train it on are trained with copyrighted works. One subject (dog) needs millions of pictures for the model to understand what it is, and repeat that for every subject in the world. Then those base models can be taken by companies then they use there legal resources to teach it in more directed ways and use a kind of (technical plothole) these are called LORA's or checkpoints etc.
    point being this whole technology shouldnt be existing rn, Bcs it cant exist if it followed copyrighted law.

      That is why I like vizcom because the data they are using is sourced legally, one of the few ai companies that that did that from the beginning.

    I totally agree, I would love to only do the concept sletching and present an concept to a client, If AI can speed up that process, bij rendering the sketch and even make an 3D model of that sketch that would be so time efficiënt! Hell yeah!

    I’m not a fan of AI imagery, but seeing it used as you have done here I can see it’s advantages for rendering multiple versions of the same object. AI won’t take our jobs but it will be here from now on so learning ‘how’ to use it will be beneficial to all creatives. Great vid!

    • @robertlkiss
      @robertlkiss  4 месяца назад +1

      Exactly. Even though many models right now are unethical they will be fixed and they will stay around. People who are against AI will be like horse carriage driver when automobiles came around. You are shooting yourself in the foot if you don’t acknowledge its existence and try to either incorporate it into your work or pivot into a direction where you do something that AI can’t.

    To me as an Industrial Designer ai is more a great tool for concept ideation process and i profit most from all that little accidents or artefacts it produces and develop them further. For example on the right ai-render of your chair based on the rough sketch it seems like ai created a small poket inside the arm rest - this opens my mind for a great new concept... Regarding copyright i dont feel like i am crossing a Red Border by using ai this way.
    Edit: Styling or making a product beautyful is Just a very small part of actual Design...

      Yeah i 100% agree with you. I guess because I am with a foot in the art community there is more resistance towards ai. But as industrial designers we look at drawing as a tool to iterate our designs and to communicate our design to the client, so whatever helps us int hat communication workflow is great by me.

      @@tristend.mowatt2612 honestly i am a little dissapointed. If you compare sketchbook to other drawing apps I feel like they don't really communicate to their user base. They don't seem to have a community manager. Instagram update is from 2022, their blog is also not really updated so I don't know how much they still support the app :(

    Humanity always personalise unknown tools as "evil' or "it takes our jobs" but that is not too. It is a tool. You have to use it wisely, you have to fix the kinks on the produced pictures. Sometimes a lot, sometimes less. Now it is concerning how it learns, but the produced image is high quality. It will have it's ups and downs, but in good hands, it can make easier jobs done in no time.

      The thing with ai is you are as “skillful” as the ai lets you to be, ai can't generate things that are not in its database when you can easily imagine them. Also you wouldn't say I made this burger just because you choose the ingredients when you order from a fast food restaurant, i think it's the same with ai generations

    • @pufferzsola69
      @pufferzsola69 4 месяца назад

      @@colorpg152a propaganda? :D don't make me laugh...
      There are tedious and nonsense jobs that got in sight with the evonution of digital art itself, like "texture painters" and so, their job will definetly vanish. This is how progress is made, you get rid of the nonsense.
      In the old times, no one ever restricted anyone to learn these new things, just like today. Guess what? Now there is a job called "AI prompt writer", and their job is to chisel the prompt to the utter perfection, and using alternated filters to get the perfect result sooner than others. That is a job created due to AI.
      Also, remember when digital painting started to be recent, traditional painters were upset because this takes their jobs. However, you can pretty much can make magnificent digital pictures using the traditional principles.
      Also, handcrafted things got the title "curiousity" to themselves.
      There is nothing new under the sun, this is an alternate version of making things. There are subgenres where it looks great with its' dizzyness, there are some where not. I don't see why would it take everyones job, because the ones who should fear from it can learn to use it, alter their knowledge and can make crazy progress in their workflow.
      My only concern is still how these AI "brains" learn, because they do not learn things the same way humans do, that is why it still has problems with limbs, hands, etc. you still have to do fixing and afterwork on the product it generates to you.
      As i used to say, not the guns kills people. Peolpe kills people. If they do not have a gun, they will use a stone, or their bare hands.
