Loving the album cover videos. I figure that the Get Luck cover art is most likely an intentional homage to Boney M. Daft Punk have mentioned a lot in interviews that the entire album Random Access Memories pays tribute to the 70s & early 80s RnB/Disco records that inspired them early on.

I'd like to add to the Daft Punk / Boney M case, by mentioning that the sun shot in the background of "Get Lucky" was apparently used, albeit at vastly different levels of zoom, on:
"Sweet Freedom" by Uriah Heep [1973]
"Trying To Burn The Sun" by Elf [1975]
"Scarabus" by Ian Gillan Band [1989 CD re-release]
The last one is rather interesting because its original 1977 LP cover, featured a character rework from the poster for the 1976 horror flick "The Witch Who Came from the Sea", which in turn was based on the Sea Witch by Frank Frazetta.

The cover photo to Springsteens Greatest Hits album was shot by Eric Meola in the mid 70s, same session as the cover for Born To Run. In 1995 Melissa did a cover of Thunder Road for MTV Unplugged with no other than the Boss, a month after the release of the Greatest Hits album. Coincidence? I smell something that THEY do not want us to know.

    Thelonius Monk-Underground, 1968 / Bob Dylan-The Basement Tapes, 1975.
There are also a couple of obvious anti-Sgt Pepper covers in Dylan's John Wesley Harding and Creedence Clearwater Revival's Willy and the Poor Boys. The latter even has a kind of "reprise" (Poorboy Shuffle) of the "title" track (Down on the Corner which has the chorus "Willy..."). And on the back cover the bassists face is hidden.

    2. Sometimes a veil is just a veil
    3. Madonna's cover is more artistic
    4. It's the same photographer, and it's not like the pose wasn't common.
    5. No where near saying it's a rip off.
    6. Could be a rip, but it's got it's own addition
    7. Kinda a classic rock pose. Could be oh that looks cool, lets do that
    8. Reba's is a pretty '90s look, as to Whitney, you can't really tell if that isn't a sundress top so, coincidence

I'd classify the Daft Punk art as more of an homage as it's a disco track who's art references a cover from a disco band. There's no way they did it unintentionally, or did it purposefully and thought no one would notice. It's a very homage-y album.

I think a distinction needs to be made between coincidence, inspiration and complete rip off when discussing this subject. I think the Scott Baio/Michael Jackson covers are nearly coincidence. I think the Reba McEntire Whitney Houston covers are inspiration and I think the Lady Gaga album was a ripoff of the missing persons album. At the end of the day this is all just fun to consider as you stated in your video and not really a huge deal. With the plethora of albums being released copycats are bound to happen.
